To be honest I think DW knows that Leeds aren't going to get promoted, and he sees it as an escape route leaving his reputation reasonably intact. Harry Bassett will probably take over fulltime now, so expect Leeds to languish in the lower divisions for a while...

I'll be pretty disappointed if we sign Samaras for this fee and at the wages that are being quoted. The guy excelled in a league where you are given plenty of time on the ball, but failed in a league where the game is played at a fast pace. Ok, the defending in the SPL may not be as good, but I think that Samaras will struggle in Scotland. And if he can't play the lone striker role then what is the point in even looking at him?

I think it is for "all-stars" or something. An initiative to get youngsters involved in a career in sport.

There isn't any reason that they couldn't delay the split and have the final league game the week after the cup final. Scotland aren't involved in Euro 2008, so the league doesn't have to finish by a certain date. Summer football in played in ROI, and it seems to be working well. I'm not sure how it'd work in the bigger leagues tho.
