  1. Agree 100%! Why do theyimpose an age limit at all? Surely the referees should know when to call it a day. Are they not supposed to have fitness/health checks every season to make sure they're still up to the job?
  2. If I manage to get my hands on some tickets through the ballot I will be going no matter who is in the final. These opportunites don't present themselves too often!
  3. Walter just needs to realise a little sooner when to drop this tactic 4-5-1 for 4-4-2. 4-5-1 wasn't working for most of the game today, we keept punting it long and the big DU centre backs kept heading it away. When JCD came on we looked better, but we never tried to split their defence with a through ball for him or Boyd to run on to (Kerr did the trick tho!) I know I shouldn't be moaning, but we almost threw this game away by not tweaking the tactics earlier.
  4. Totally agree too. I was screaming at the TV to get him hauled off. Had he been hooked earlier maybe we could have won it in normal time. His tracking back today was awful, his crossing was very poor, as were his set pieces, and did he ever beat a man today? When he came back into the team after Christmas he looked like he had a bit of guile that we were missing, now he has none of it. I think his time at Ibrox is just about over.
  5. It looks like Chelsea are doing their very best to turn this into a 3 horse race. Arsenal have really gone off the boil in the league, and ManYoo just keep going (even though they haven't been spectacular). At the moment I think ManYoo could take it with Chelsea a close second and Arsenal in 3rd. Liverpool look good for 4th spot at the moment, and since thye still have to play Arsenal and ManYoo they'll hav a big say in the destination of the title. It's getting very exciting!
  6. I just applied there now! Come On!
  7. After announcing yesterday that he would be quitting at the end of the season despite having four years remaining on his contract, Roberto Mancini announced this evening that he would now be staying following talks with Inter owner Massimo Moratti. WTF? Surely the Inter fans much be pretty pissed off at this? If the guy isn't sure about his commitment to the club what kind of message is he sending out?
  8. Definitely! Especially since we had so much joy against their dodgy keeper in the last game.
  9. La Liga for me. Technically better than the EPL. Agreed. Or does it tell us that the managers of the EPL sides are great tacticians? Who knows? One thing is for sure, the EPL sides are definitely getting stronger in Europe.
  10. As soon as I saw him heading to take it I texted my mate to say they were going out! LOL!
  11. Great news to see them dropping points! Now we just have to make sure we keep putting the performances and get the wins. COME ON!
  12. It is quite sad that they are going to go to the wall. It all comes back to the SPL and the stadium requirements. Had Gretna not been forced to switch home games to Motherwell, they would certainly have had better attendances, and arguably would have played better too. I hope they manage to raise the funds, or get an emergency loan.
  13. It's better for him to stay at home and receive treatment than fly out and aggrivate it further. We still have Novo for pace.
  14. Aye, remember Ronaldo in the 1998 WC final!
  15. Bolton have been shipping an awful lot of goals recently, so unless the seal that leaky defence they could be doomed. NUFC just look awful all over the park. Defence can't keep clean sheets and their strikers can't score even when the midfield do manage to set them up with decent chances. I think Birmingham will have enough to stay up. McLeish is doing a decent job down there at the moment and we know he's a lucky manager so I'm confident that they'll be dining at the top table again next year.
  16. I was at the Bremen v Hamburg derby at the start of December. Bremen won the game 2-1 with a bit of a lucky goal. They were not that impressive on the day but then again it was a hotly contested derby. Obviously that was about 4 months ago so their form has changed a little. The Weserstadion is pretty impressive once you get inside, and there should be plenty of beer (Becks) for sale for anyone that wants a bevvy. We were in the Hamburg end and the atmosphere was fantastic, however when Bremen scored their fans were incredibly noisy. So expect something similar if you're going on Thursday (atmosphere, not Bremen fans cheering goals I hope!).
  17. Derby (obviously), Fulham (they just don't seem capable of keeping a clean sheet) and then it's anyone's guess! Newcastle just seem to be a shambles at the moment, and Bolton are in a very bad run at the moment too. However Reading were also in a bad run and suddenly they've won two on the bounce and are on the up. It's going to be close, but I think Newcastle "they're too good to go down" United are going to sink and KK is going to go.
  18. Hopefully we can get a result on Thursday. I'm getting nervous already!
  19. I think I read somewhere that McCulloch may be carrying a slight thigh strain at the moment, so it could be Boyd up front on his own.
  20. Brilliant! I hope it works out for him.
  21. McCartney is a decent left-back and likes to get forward. From what I can remember he can also play at CB. One potential problem with George is that he has BA syndrome "I ain't getting on no damn plane!" which it is believed led him to fall out with previous NI manager Lawrie Sanchez and his self-imposed international exile. Now that Sanchez has gone McCartney is back in the NI squad and playing pretty well. He's a regular for WHU this season, and has plenty of Premier League experience so he's certainly good enough quality. Whether he'd want to come up to Scotland is difficult question, most players would be swayed by the European football, but since McCArtney doesn't travel the best perhaps it won't be a deal clincher. Personally I think he'd be a good (but expensive) signing and he'd add to the squad.
  22. At £2m Kenny Miller does not offer good value for money. Cousin cost about £1m and he's a much better player than Miller. If we can persuade Cousin to stay then hopefully we won't need Miller. Additionally if we do have a spare £2m it should be put towards securing Steven Davis on a long term deal (since Fulham are looking more and more likely to be relegated I think we could get Davis for £2-3m in the summer)
