Latest statement from MD in answer to a post on FF.

Indeed. When you join an organisation and play by the rules.

You don't run off like scum in the night and present allegations as fact and miss out important facts before giving them to the media in the hope of getting a 'result'.

Do we know who else 'stepped back'?

Funny how the Gersnet was accused yesterday of pushing an agenda and today we have been reprimanded for allowing certain people to voice an opinion. The Gersnet is open to all discussion as long as we respect each other. The fact nobody has been censored is the strength of the Gersnet. You may not always like what you read but hey, you can read differing arguments.

I never saw gersnet accused of that (of course that does not mean it was not). I saw it being pointed out that some/one were/was using the forum in that manner - we had 15 posts, from someone who had posted once in the previous nine months, in rapid succession from someone with a clearly emotional and personal slant in all in this nonsense of a fan personalities' sideshow, for example.

Also, there is censorship here, as there is on any internet forum, that is at all bearable. It seems to be managed well here, however, and contrasting arguments are allowed which, like you, I applaud.

What chance have the RST got of growing now? For me it's ran it's course and we need a new vehicle.

The theory behind it is good. The engine running it IMO has run out of gas and the bodywork is rusting.

Should we actually have fans groups? It often seems to me that anyone who gets involved and sticks their head above the parapet, simply make themselves targets for the internet bootboys who hide behind the anonymity of their keyboards.

Having talked to a couple of people at the Trust and having read various comments online, it looks like a couple of people on the Trust board have got into an argument and one of them has gone running to the mhedia presumably because he/she didn't get their way. Not very professional but there you are.

Naturally, the online bootboys have jumped on this with relish even though nobody actually knows the detail of what has happened.

It isn't really a story because the position of the RST with regard to the AGM issues is defined by its members who have voted on the matter. The RST board merely reflects the views of the membership.

It sounds a lot more serious than an argument if both parties have removed themselves from their positions. There have been plenty of arguments between board members over the years but people don't often remove themselves from their positions.

Agree with your comment not being professional if it was that person who ran to the media, but in the same line, using "scum" in a statement isn't either.

This is one of the worst times for it to happen to the RST and they need to deal with it all quickly and clearly.

It is only serious in the minds of the online community.

We can't possibly know that for certain. Given that this has broken into the mainstream media it's a bit of a nightmare for the Trust at the worst possible time.
