If you spoke in defence of them because you didn't like the people speaking against them then double shame on you. I can't think of any other possible reason why a Rangers supporter could have backed this board, it was clear as day they were at best incompetent and at worst killing the club and lining their pockets. Following the club home and away doesn't absolve anyone of responsibility. Nothing has really changed from yesterday other than the public confirmation of what's been done to our club. Again. The square root of fuck all responsibility lies with people simply having an opinion. "If it's that bad", did you really just type those words the day after our entire squad were asked to take a pay cut that's eight times the rate of inflation? You really don't take any responsibility for your own words, actions and opinions STB? That's a great philosophy for life. The need for cost cutting was made explicit a few weeks ago and rightly or wrongly this avenue has been explored, no doubt this'll be another 'shame on you' moment but I don't particularly understand the shock and or what this has massively changed. I do if my words, actions and opinions actually have an influence on anything or if morality is called into question. Disagreeing on a boardroom and businessmen as football fans (remember we are meant to be football fans and not accountants) is not a crime and has no influence at all on what happens. most expressing their opinions are not even shareholders. Zappa 0 Posted January 17, 2014 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Laughable interview where he completely sidesteps the issue of director pay cuts. He certainly comes across as being quite evasive and wishy-washy and that's very disappointing when what we need is an honest CEO with balls of steel and an iron fist. If he had first gotten directors, executives, management and professionals employed at the club to take pay cuts, then he could have approached the players from a position of strength and told them he was taking swift and decisive action to cut the Club's costs from top to bottom. Obviously we don't know exactly who all has been approached about taking pay cuts, but it sounds like maybe Wallace was hoping that the players would take one on the chin for the good of the Club and that would give him his starting point to then approach other Club staff saying the players were leading by example and could everyone else follow suit. At the end of the day, job cuts and pay cuts throughout the Club are long, long overdue, so Wallace really needs to get the ball rolling quickly and stop beating about the bush. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

calscot 0 Posted January 17, 2014 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Since the club came out of admin/liquidation/newco stuff, folk have been constantly slating the board about the wages paid to players being too high....now they are getting slated for trying to reduce the wage bill without releasing players - they cannae win!!! Isn't the point that if they were competent they should have had an affordable budget and stuck with it to start with? Over a year to recoup what we paid green. A year to recoup mathers pay. Fifteen percent pay cuts throughout the whole club with any willing and able employees earning over £100k p/a taking even bigger pay cuts of up to 50% like Ally has agreed to would all add up to a very significant sum. der Berliner 3,245 Posted January 17, 2014 Share Posted January 17, 2014 What people do not lay much emphasis on is the fact that Wallace will have to work within certain limits, the limits of now and here. We can go on and on about money spent by his predecessors, Green and Co., it will not change anything he faces up to. While I like anyone one here wants him to unravel the vanishing of the IPO money - or at least give transparency where it went, his immediate concerns are in the now and the future. I view a possible (sic!) wage cut as on option preferrable to sacking staff. We can't sent players unwanted or unused packing just because we want to. They have contracts and we like they have to honour them. Else we'll face another Goian scenario and/or the players' union will come after us too. For the time being, we'll have to see what else the boardroom has in store. NB: Sacking Stockbridge would remove one figure from the board, but that figure would be replaced by another person who would also take up a similar wage.
