Latest Joey Barton news: Remains suspended

Maybe until he thought he was god after that he was mediocre to say the least. He had a few good seasons with world class players around him but when they left he thought he could play 11 positions alone.

Not getting involved with you in a discussion on BF

Was not impressed with him in the games that he played too slow in moving ball on seems to me like another "Ma Baw" Ferguson.

There is not a Scottish player at this moment that could lace Ferguson's boots!

I am 30 this year and I can easily say he is the best Scottish player I have seen in my lifetime.

Opinions seem to differ on that. I guess you never saw the older generation players then.

Sorry I just saw you are 30 and that answers a lot. He was jut playing when you were into boyhood hero's.

I'm not far off double you, pal, so I have seen many better than BF. All before his time though and so I'm in agreement with you vis-a vis your years

That's a little disingenuous. He dragged us to the title in 2002-03 against one of the greatest ever Celtic sides.

I don't think I ever really understood some Rangers fans' antagonism towards Barry Ferguson. Is it to do with him leaving us in 2003 to chance his arm down south?

He was an absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer.

Even Rolls Royce made some crappy Monday morning cars that looked great at first. Nobody was just never allowed to admit it.

There's not many Rangers players you could say were personally responsible for a good handful of trophies. But you could certainly say that of Barry Ferguson.

Between 1998 and 2002 I wouldn't have replaced him for any central midfielder in Europe.
