Another midfielder.........sighs.

 

Defensive midfielders. Of which we have our peremmial deputy Halliday, a young chap called Rossiter whom we have yet to see in a string of matches, and Crooks ... who may or may not be a solution. We badly need a commanding athletic midfield chap who can also spray a pass. This chap will be half-way down the Swedish summer season if he comes, so could slot straight into our team if it (hopefully) gets into the early European qualifiers. Not too bad a thing.

 

Do we need a striker as well? Yes, of course! But that does not mean that we neglect getting the rest of the squad up to a better level.

Yes I know full well we need to improve EVERY area of the team, but what is costing us games is at centre half and centre forward. It's been the same for 12-18 months. This is MW 4th window to get these key areas right, and all we seem to be linked with is midfielders. It's very frustrating!

Jason Cummings back on for Summer

After Hibs pulling the plug on him joining last season after the Cup Final im hearing he could be signing in the summer.

Jason Cummings back on for Summer

After Hibs pulling the plug on him joining last season after the Cup Final im hearing he could be signing in the summer.

Re Cummings ... jellybeans reckons that he signed his new deal with a get-out clause attached, so "his team" will earn a bit. Last time they wanted 1.5m and it won't be any less, not least if they get promoted.

 

Currently he's played 22 games, scored 12 goals and assisted 2 more, which excludes the game on Saturday.

 

IMHO, quite unlikely.

Is Cummings going to have us challenging Celtic for the title next season? No. So let's find someone who will.

 

These promising, young(ish) Scottish players rarely amount to anything. Goodwillie, Riordan, Fyvie etc.

 

I can only hope we have a team of scouts abroad trying to identify decent players for the summer...
