The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread

Unless someone has 10 to 15 million to throw at Rangers you'd be as well setting fire to your tenner mate.

We'll see how next season goes and maybe risk the tenner the following one.

I'm in no way as despondent as you. It's not about how much we spend but how wisely we spend it. Get better quality in & strengthen in the areas most needed & there'll be a big improvement. I'm sure about that.

Rab, apart from the goalie and even he'd cause debate among our support, just about every single area needs improving. I struggle to see anybody in that current squad worth keeping.

I would actually call 8/1 pretty stingy odds given everything that happened this season. Suggests the bookies think that mhank united aren't as good as they want to think they are and only looked good in comparison to the typical dross they had to beat. If things work out well for us this window we're going to be a whole different proposition next season.

We have been let down before but i'm encouraged by the activity that appears to be going on and there does indeed need to be some urgency given we have just 4 weeks to get everything in place for the first Europa league tie. Hoping that goes smoothly and we emerge well prepared for the opening day of the league on August 5th. Regarding that hoping for another opening day home tie and a far different result from last years opening day.

Caixinha to secure Rangers signing early, player cuts short holiday to complete transfer

By Lucas Sposito - 29th May 2017

On Sunday Portuguese newspaper O Jogo broke the story that Rangers are looking to sign three Benfica players. Pedro Caixinha is working to complete moves for*Dálcio,*Fábio Cardoso, and*Daniel Candeias, as part of his plan to move Rangers closer to Celtic.

In*Dálcio’s case that means making a special effort to get to Ibrox and sign for the Scottish Premiership club. Dálcio will have to leave whichever Portuguese beach he’s currently holidaying by,*because Rangers want things done quickly, report*Notícias Ao Minuto today.

Caixinha is securing the player for Rangers on a loan move, or least that’s ‘how everything points out’ right now.

Dálcio, who’s actually called Eucidalcio Gomes, is set to complete his transfer before the end of the week as Rangers’ pre-season kicks off on June 5th. The early training sessions will take place because of the*Europa League play-offs later in the month.

The 21-year-old was signed by Benfica from their neighbours Belenenses in 2015, but hasn’t managed to get a chance in the Eagles’ impressive first team. He has played fifty games for the B squad so far, being used in central midfield or on the right wing.

I certainly don't think the manks are as good as they themselves or the Scottish media think they are.

At present they are kings of the dung heap. Given where we've came from and what we've gone through that says more about the rest of Scottish football.

This season I said I'd be happy with a top 6. Next season I expect nothing less than second with a shout at a cup.

The following season I'll be mightily disappointed if we don't put in a serious challenge.

Naturally I hope things work out better though.

Call me over-optimistic, but these players look(on paper anyway) a damn sight better than the league 1 and league 2 dross Warburton brought in last summer along with a few has-beens topping up their pension pots

One thing that concerns me is the lack of time we have to build a team with pre season beginning a week today then the Europa draw 2 weeks later and the first game just 10 days after that. As far as I can see the first qualifying game will be 29th June with the second leg a week later than the first leg of the second qualifying round just a week after that. I'm hoping for a good result in the first game to nail it down in that first leg to give us something of a breathing space in some ways.

Though while fretting about the time constraints it's also exciting in a way that we're going to be back in competitive action just 31 days from now.

Rangers set to kick-start summer shopping spree with capture of Bruno Alves by the end of the week

Exclusive by Christopher Jack

PEDRO CAIXINHA is set to kick-start his Rangers rebuilding job with the signing of defender Bruno Alves by the end of the week.

The Portuguese international is poised to join his countryman at Ibrox and become the first arrival of the summer as Caixinha prepares to overhaul his Light Blues ranks.

The Gers boss has targeted a host of players across the park ahead of his first full campaign in the Premiership and Rangers’ return to the Europa League qualifiers on June 29.

And Alves could now put pen-to-paper to complete a switch from Serie A side Cagliari before he joins up with his national squad for the Confederations Cup.

After rounding off their top flight campaign with victory over St Johnstone earlier this month, Rangers will get back down to business next Monday as Caixinha gets set to put his squad through their paces.

But the 46-year-old could be without the services of Alves for most of their warm-up schedule as he prepares to report for duty with Fernando Santos’ side.

Portugal face Mexico in their first Group A clash on June 18 before a meeting with hosts Russia in Moscow three days later.

Their final fixture is against New Zealand on June 24 and a successful group campaign would then give the Euro 2016 winners a further two ties in the semis and either the final or third place play-off on July 2.

It leaves Alves facing a hectic schedule over the summer but the capture of the former Porto, Zenit and Fenerbahce star will be a major boost for Caixinha ahead of a crucial few weeks on and off the park.

A deal for Aberdeen star Ryan Jack is also all but complete as he gets set to make the move from Pittodrie to Ibrox ahead of the new campaign.

Jack made his final appearance for Derek McInnes’ side in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday and could be given extra time off to rest next month before he looks to hit the ground running in Light Blue.

The Dons captain won’t be the only midfield recruit this summer and Rangers have now made a move to bring Graham Dorrans back across the border from Norwich.

The 30-year-old is keen on a switch to his boyhood heroes and initial discussions have taken place with Canaries chiefs over a deal.

Caixinha is also interested in Mexican international Carlos Pena but faces a wait over a work permit before that swoop gets the green light.

Rangers won’t pursue a move for Motherwell striker Louis Moult, however, as Caixinha eyes other targets to bolster his attacking options this summer.

Defenders Clint Hill and Philippe Senderos have left the club after they weren’t offered extensions to their contracts and the Swiss stopper has been linked with a return to his homeland and a switch to Super League outfit Servette.

Perhaps that may be so but we're not playing against Barcelona or Juventus next season. Our biggest challenge will be to start scoring a lot more goals for starters
