'I don't think we ever get anything to go for us': Rangers boss Steven Gerrard launches furious attack on referees as Alfredo Morelos sees red in opening day draw at Aberdeen

  • Steven Gerrard claims referees have targeted Rangers for years
  • Referee Kevin Clancy red carded Alfredo Morelos after just 12 minutes
  • Rangers took the lead through James Tavernier's penalty in the first half
  • Debutant Bruce Anderson fired home a last-minute winner :drum: to share the spoils :seal:

A lot of positives but the biggest is that these players now know that despite playing in a provincial league they have to play at 100% every game to win because they are playing 12 men and sometimes a linesman and 4th official. Perhaps Clancy gave the newcomers a good lesson today and one best taught before it’s too late. But bottom line for me is we have been cheated out of points yet again.

I noted certain BBC pundits and associated misquoting Gerard unsurprisingly. SG said we were a class above Aberdeen TODAY. Some pea brains are suggesting he should have waited until the end of the season. ?

i alsi noted they they did not like SG calling out the standard of refereeing involving Rangers. If Scotland suffered the same decisions we do they’d make plenty of noise.

I read the daily mail article and SG comments in full. He has it clear in his mind what’s going on up here. It seems he has made his mind up regarding the officials too. We need a full independent outside enquiry into the officials and those in power within the Scottish game. We should be calling for it now.

Sterling literacy. a 'last minute winner to share the spoils'

Reminds me of our first game up there under Warburton. I think it was Tavernier who was booked for a foul that never was then the sheep scored in the last minute from the resulting free kick.

Having watched the highlights on Sportscene I think jack took an elbow to the head.

No doubt he definitely took an elbow to the head, and sadly gives Stevie May instant heroic status amongst the sheep supporters.

May's not got  close to the form he had at St Johnstone ,and it was the only way he going to leave a mark on yesterday's game.

The BBC continue antagonising Rangers fans in every way they can. Including ending their match report with "he (Gerrard) has a squad capable of competing for second spot". You couldn't make it up.

I don't think Aberdeen will make the top three this season, I reckon Hibs will finish 3rd and the sheep will be fighting with Hearts and Kilmarnock for 4th.

May is a carthorse and god knows how some people were promoting him for us a couple of seasons ago. 5 goals in 30 games is not really awe-inspiring for a Striker in the 2nd best team in the league.
