The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

Recommended Posts

BTW, when we got Kamara I remember quite a few had doubts about his qualities, despite folk like Neil McCann singing praises. Same on FF. Now, someone over there did a bit of thread-necromancy and highlighted a few negative comments and then added a gif that has seemingly escaped Rousseau up till now ?

I just became aware that the goal Kamara scored for us against his former employers Dundee was in fact his first and still only professional club goal. It's all coming together for him with Rangers and at just 23 he still has a lot of development potential in him.

Prior to his first start IIRC

Dafinitley a risk but both Davis and Kamara have the ability to look after the ball.

You'd imagine St.Johnstone will be out to press them given neither are match sharp.

I reckon Kamara may well end up being a wise acquisition and more productive than Davis.

As far as young keepers are concerned, I hope we keep the faith and keep a pathway open for Robbie McCrorie.

Surely he's ready to be number 2? I don't get why you need two keepers in their prime in the squad when you have talent like McCrorie coming through, waste of money. He's not a boy anymore he's 21. Same could have been said about Liam Kelly.

Apparently McCrorie did very well with Morton.

He's on a similar route to the one McGregor trod #Dunfermline

GERS WANT JON

Rangers plan swoop for World Cup winner Jurgen Klinsmann’s son Jonathan

The 6' 4" goalkeeper is wanted by the Ibrox club who watched him in action last week

RANGERS could move for Jurgen Klinsmann’s goalie son Jonathan.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard needs a new back-up to Allan McGregor as both Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick are leaving.

That has seen Gers, who are also closing in on £450,000 Oldham defender George Edmundson, turn attention to former USA Under-20s cap Klinsmann.

SunSport understands Gers watched Munich-born Klinsmann, 22, in action for Hertha Berlin’s second string on Friday night as they lost 2-0 to Lokomotiv Leipzig in the country’s fourth tier.

The 6ft 4in keeper is out of contract this summer and is thought to be frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities at the Bundesliga club.

He was also believed to be unhappy at Hertha goalie coach Zsolt Petry, who publicly criticised him in March.

Petry had stated Klinsmann, who grew up in California, needed to up his work ethic and claimed there was “too much American” in him.

Klinsmann penned a two-year deal when he joined Hertha in July 2017, but would be competing with as many as SIX keepers at the club next season.

In January, World Cup-winning dad Jurgen claimed his son has the ability to be a first-choice keeper.

He said: “Jonathan has the class to be a No 1 in the Bundesliga or second division next season.

“But the club also has to have the courage to give a young goalkeeper this chance, just as Everton did with their England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

“Jonathan has become a man in 18 months under Petry. He is getting closer to Rune Hastein and Thomas Kraft, who are in front of him.”

Meanwhile, Gers have stolen a march on Stoke City, Hull, Preston and Sunderland in the chase for 21-year-old Edmundson.

The centre-back was in Glasgow last week for talks and a VIP tour of the club’s Hummel Training Centre.

Gerrard, who is on the hunt for replacements for Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley, is keen to land Edmundson, who was an ever-present for the Latics this term.

A couple of things.

It is clear that Foderingham is too good for a No. 2 role, so he will be off.

What ist the matter with Alnwick though? I was under the impression that he was sent on-loan to get games, as he would have been No. 3 and he sure is too good for that.

Then there is the small matter of Andy Firth, who was signed by SG (sic!) in case anything happens to our No 1 and 2. I guess he would not be there if he was bad?

Klinsmann ... has no more experience under his belt than Firth or McCrorie ... and neither of the threesome would play a game if McGregor is fit.
