Gordon Smith to become SFA Chief Executive

Excellent appointment IMO.

Gordon Smith is an articulate gentleman who unlike many of the pundits in Scottish football actually knows the game and although it is inevitable any suggestions of bias towards Rangers are completely and utterly laughable.

He's also a man who speaks his mind and is just the person to wake up some of the old suits at the SFA. His agency work may be some sort of conflict of interests but considering half the SFA board sit on the boards of the various football clubs, I don't see why anyone would complain.

Not only that but he's a good friend of ours at Gersnet. Isn't that right Gordon...? ;)

Congratulations to Gordon (or should it be commiserations ???).

Definitely a step in the right direction for the SFA.

A better appointment they could not have made !!

Brilliant appointment, i hope he keeps on his pundit role though otherwise we will probably get another blabbering tim ripping our club apart. I would still have loved to see him at Ibrox in a managerial role though.

At last we get football people in football jobs. This is a right move. Im not saying the average joe shouldnt get jobs like this and they arent football men, but the SFA only seem to appoint yes men so its good to see a football man in the job.

Great appointment!!..he must be the most unbiased pundit in the media he calls it as he sees it...His knowledge of the game will be very useful in the corridors of power, where half of them no feck all about the game.
