The Winter 2019/20 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Recommended Posts

Reported Rangers target and Charlton striker Lyle Taylor has rejected a new contract with the Championship club, according to manager Lee Bowyer.

Taylor’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Rangers are one of a number of clubs linked with a move for the 29-year-old striker.

Speaking to London News Online, Bowyer revealed that whilst the Charlton number 9 had been offered a new deal, Taylor has turned it down.

“Lyle has been offered a contract and he declined it,” said Bowyer.

“It’s his choice if he wants to sign it or not.

“We’ve offered him a good contract. Roland [Duchatelet] offered him what we think is a good contract.”

Whilst Taylor’s playing time this season has been limited with a knee injury, he has returned to London side’s squad and is back playing again ahead of the new year.

Taylor started the season on top form, netting five goals in Charlton’s opening six Championship games before being crocked on international duty with Monserrat.

Taylor’s early-season form followed on from an impressive 18/19 where Taylor’s 25 goals helped Charlton to promotion from League One alongside current Ibrox star Joe Aribo.

Could you imagine the hubris of Rangers if they were to take Taylor to Ibrox after Lee Bowyer’s angry outbursts following the summer Bosman signing of now Nigerian international Aribo?

Lyle Taylor has had permanent spells at eight clubs in his career alongside numerous loan moves, including spells at Falkirk and Partick Thistle in Scotland.

Meanwhile, Gerrard has confirmed midfielder Andy King is set to return to Leicester.

The Welsh international has struggled for game time with the Light Blues following his loan switch in the summer.

Gerrard revealed: “We’re in talks now with Leicester City and his reps to find the best solution. He has obviously been frustrated with his game time here.

“But he has been the ultimate professional and has gone above and beyond in this dressing room for us.”

Never really got a chance ...

Maybe, never really earned it.

Regarding that reply and others above ...

How would we know? What we DO know is that he was fit and others were brought straight in after round-the-world-trips and did not perform to the standards they are / were capable of, namely Arfield and Aribo. For quite a few games. Saying that, I do not exactly know what type of midfield player King is. His main problem probably was the outstanding form or Jack, Kamara  and Davis.

BTW, If King does go and Barjonas leaves on loan, it would probably mean that we have no intention to sell Kamara anytime soon.

Where's our local ITK man?

6th month loan deal for Greg Docherty to the championship in January

King back to Leicester

Barjo is most likely heading to Partick & young Mayo’s loan is on hold with Helanders injury

Few players signing for youths from MotherwEll which I can’t say more on

Few youths signing deals also

I’d expect to see us try to move on a few first team squad members who aren’t part of Gerrard’s plans
