Barisic is a very hot and cold player.  On his day he can be terrific but when he's not 'on it' he can be a liability.

Now you can say we have an up and running player trading model, rather than just talking about one.

This is the type of cash injection that will allow directors and investors to sleep easier, at least for a few months.

 

Looking ahead, the pathway for our younger players needs to be real, not talk.

Some of our youngsters need to look at the likes of Patterson, Bassey and see the importance of adding physicallity to talent. I appreciate Big Calvin was quite exceptional in the latter.

 

Lowry is quite slight, but he may just have enough talent to get started and grow along the way.

Maybe Barisic has watched enough of Bassey from the subs bench to see what it actually takes to be a quality left back.

Barisic is a very poor defender, he is only effective when he pushes forward and puts in crosses. Tav gets slaughtered(still) for his defending, when really he isn't a poor defender!. We need to sign a quality LB to replace Bassey.

Barisic doesn't have the strength, speed Bassey has, his only asset is driving down the wing and putting in crosses which he doesn't do enough of.

We won 55 with Barisic at LB.  

 

Obviously, we should never rest on our laurels but he can do a job.

If we get a big fee as reported for Bassey who only really played when Gio and co arrived then that is spectacular business by the club.
