A Barry Ferguson type player would give this squad the confidence to climb several rungs up the ladder. We have a solid group of lads but I feel we're missing that swaggering midfield general who doesn't need to be asked twice or at half time to put a game to bed or chase the trespassers out of the middle of the park.

Raskin ... from his stats he looks like someone to challenge Davis, Kamara, Jack and Lundstram for a position, and my gut feeling says that unless someone moves on soonish, that`s a no-goer. Then again, Davis* and Jack won`t get younger (or are injured) and there was interest in Kamara before.

EDIT: Some suggestions that Raskin is a deep midfield playmaker type of guy.

Could well be looking at the loan market for a level of quality, we can't otherwise afford.

 

Downside is that it doesn't usually work out how we hope.

 

- Powerful and energetic midfielder

- centre forward

- Right winger

- centre half (depending on projected timeline re.injured)

A good CL showing and we should be able to move Kamara along...SFSG.

 

Davis is retiring and Jack is perma broke...his body language tells you everything...this gig is up for him.

 

Sooooo....

 

Two solid CDMs in this kid and Lundstram would be ideal.

 

I like the logic behind it if I am reading it correctly. 

 

Oh! plus we got Jimmy Sands as well...

The one thing that is never mentioned is the asking price of Bayern, yet, Tillman would only have a year left of his deal and he was not in Bayern's plans in July 2022.

 

One thing is for sure: there is massive talent in the u23s of certain Bundesliga clubs waiting to let loose. Quite a few of them know that they will not get/have a good chance at their parent clubs, who, like we did, rather sign even better and/or experienced players for their first team squad.

Would have liked us to go for Joshua Zirkezee from Bayern.
