The Summer 2022 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Recommended Posts

Calling someone a "panty wetter" is fine if they're going nuts and making unreasonable demands.

I don't think those of us who are questioning the lack of activity, particularly since CL qualification, fall into that category.

lots of normally reasonable types being totally panty wetters or valid points?

Valid points.

The board didn't back Gerrard on the back of 55 and listening to Gio after defeating PSV, he indicated there would be "incomings", so can be argued that the board are not backing Gio after EL final and CL qualification.

I understand that money will be held back for Sands and Tillman and that new contracts for Tav and Goldson (and possibly Alfie and Kent) needs to be taken into consideration, but we need strengthened / freshened up.

I can also see the flip side  - we have  bloated squad and have 6 or so players currently out (long term) injured. Their wages still need to be paid.

Read somewhere that the only 1 player of the Celtic starting 11 from the 2019-2020 league Cup final is still at Celtic, yet 10of our starters that day remain at Ibrox (Aribo being the 1 player still not around).

Yep, I can see that. That is where you'd expect the club to facilitate player turnover and help the manager build the squad he likes that suits him. But if it cant be done it cant be done.

We have a lot of football over the next few months. Hopefully we can get some of the injured players back faster than expected. We will need them,

Not too fast or the injury length will increase 😟

I think some of the issues as they stand have developed over a number of transfer windows.

Too much reliance on what has become on older guard (eg. Ryan Jack) and too many players brought in who are injury prone.

If we have decided to let the likes of McCann and Lowry to get real game time, then I am on board with that.

However, if we intend to have the same players go to the well all the time, then it will end badly.

If we depend on Morelos and Roofe, it might be ok for a couple of weeks but it won't last. The lad Ure isn't ready yet. Haven't seen enough of Lovelace yet.
