Who are they going to communicate with that represents the fans if not doing so publically ?  Cant be C1872 as they and the club are at an impasse.  So who could they sound out about it in private to gauge fan reaction ?

Ifs, buts and maybes, but say had we beaten Celtic in February and gone on to win the league, I don't think it would have been us that pulled out of the Sydney Cup.

If the board didn't think there would be a backlash to Rangers participating in "Anges All Conquering Homecoming Tour" then they are more out of touch with the fanbase than I fear. 

 

There shouldn't have been a need for communication, we should have politely declined the invitation.

They didn't need to speak with a representative of the fans. 

 

There are fans on the board, but they live closer to the harsh reality of our financial situation and will tend to have a different perspective. IMO it is wholly understandable why they thought it an opportunity not to be turned down.

 

Regardless, the boardroom should have been able to judge the room better than they did. IMO they should have spoke individually with fans who they could trust not to leak the info, whom they valued their judgement and who would speak plainly. 

 

It might only have been a handful but if they were all saying the same thing, it would have been a red flag.

 

Regards to names, it really depends on their relationships with individuals which I'm not privvy to but one that comes to mind is David Edgar. Close enough to the fanbase, forthright and I reckon with enough integrity to stay stum, if asked to. Possibly, Forlan if he is still closer than most, to the loop.

 

The pursuit of Pounds Sterling has been an obvious priority and might have knocked all the above into the Bollox to That file. However, the pursuit is proving costly down to one bad judgement call after another. From King trying to take on Ashley to this latest feck up.

 

The rational doesn't always apply to football, especially Glasgow.
