With regards to possible line ups, I would play the same team that started the home leg with a view to introducing Cifuentes/Sima/Hagi if the game opens up.

 

Just some housekeeping regarding our opponents. They drew 1-1 at home to St. Gallen on Saturday. Its worth noting that St. Gallen had 60% possession and completed over 400 passes compared to Servettes 280. St. Gallen also recorded 24 shots compared Servettes 13.

I'd be inclined to go a little more cautious. They are a defensive team. They need to come out and beat us. If we play it right we can keep it tight and hit them on the break with Sima for example.

I would actually be tempted to replace raskin from the weekend with Jack, and keep cifu in the middle with Cantwell.  Felt Raskin tired 2nd half, and wasted possession a few times.

 

think Sima will come in for Dessers, and would play Danilo through the middle.

 

Goldson will come back in for Balogun if fit, and barring injuries that will be the changes.

I spent an hour or so the other night watching the highlights of our European games since Gerrard took charge. It was great viewing but what struck me was how we've competed against decent sides. Lech Poznan, Villareal, Spartak Moscow, Rapid Vienna, Porto, Feyernoord, Benfica, Legia Warsaw, Borussia Dortmund, Red Star, Braga, Standard Leige, Leipzig. What also struck is that Servette are not a patch on most of these teams from what I witnessed last week. Go out take the game to them and put this to bed Rangers.

I would keep Souttar and Balogun in CD, play Jack in front of them, and Raskin plus Cifuentes. The latter two are box to box guys and willing to shoot, while Jack does the cover. We will sure play with Tavernier and Barisic, simply because we lack options (Ridvan injured and Sterling hardly played). So ...
