  1. Past hour
  2. Forget Covid: our pandemic started in 2012 when we all contracted an incurable case of cynicism. With my political views I should be wary of venture capitalists but we tried Wee Tam and Big Hugh as staunch RFC men in the shape of Club 1872 and see what happened. I am excited; I went to bed last night envisaging a middle 3 of Cameron, Raskin (c) and Modric. Those 3 will ensure that the burden of goalscoring no longer lies solely with Cyriel. You may say I'm a dreamer.....you know the rest.
  3. This! Everything is a risk, but the takeover appears to be the best option, as we stand here today. Surely it has to be better than the status quo.
  4. If it’s only £20 million being put in I imagine this will have an effect on any new manager some managers want to spend spend spend so I think the new manager will be someone from nearer home maybe the bloke who was at Southampton
  5. If we had continued with the old board, I genuinely think we would've been looking at another financial event and in the mud. Thank god they seen sense and sold up.
  6. Today
  7. If we had continued with the old board, we would've been looking at a trophy every three or four years. Change had to happen for Rangers to get back to winning league titles regularly.
  8. We were at a stage where we had to twist. Sticking was no longer an option. At least the new incumbents are somewhat "known" as they've invested in Leeds so there is some tangible to look at and compare o what to expect.
  9. I can understand some peoples apprehension but something like this had to happen. We couldn’t continue as we’ve been doing the past 10 years posting huge annual losses and plugging them with directors loans. What I’m looking for from the US consortium most of all is better corporate governance. Get that part right and we’ll be in better shape than we’ve ever been
  10. You are not alone. My first thought was now that it's official, I can start to worry.
  11. And there's too much football tbh.
  12. Nothing to beat a wee bandy legged winger crossing for bullet headed centre forward
  13. I think the takeover is a positive thing. However, it's difficult to get excited about football any more. May be an age thing but the sport itself isn't what it used to be. Too much falling over and tactics and not enough personality.
  14. I feel the same and I think we have all (most of us) been like that since 2012
  15. Fresh investment ✔️ Clear goals ✔️ Long term vision ✔️ New head coach imminent ✔️ Board reconstruction ✔️ Respect for our club ✔️ Fans approval 🤞
  16. Perhaps it's a serious opportunity for wealth extraction. I wonder if they define success in terms of trophies or something else.
  17. Aye, well, I know what you mean but I can feel myself wavering. Some of the new chaps seem to be serious people but what are they doing here?
  18. Like everything I suppose is we are kept in the dark, yet with the latest announcement the new 51er’s looks to conduct their business in a fast and efficient manner that benefits all parts of the club both sustainable and in the long term, I believe sometimes it is best to be kept in the dark as being kept in the dark can be a double-edged sword. While it sometimes breeds anxiety amongst us the fans it also carefully guards the sweet anticipation of the unknown, I suppose in allowing the element of surprise to take place, I'm sure our rivals will be doing their homework or going through scenarios on what style the next manager will implement going forward.
  19. I accept I'm largely alone but I find it hard to get excited about this. Let's see what happens now. Fingers crossed.
  20. I heard that some things have been rushed through to ensure that we are rid of him as early as possible. His departure is seen as strategic.
  21. Break them in easy, was my thinking....
  22. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cqj7gj2w0k5o You can feel that wee rhats pain, it's glorious.
  23. That’s probably Presbyterian enough for @Gonzo79.
  24. On the face of it, exciting times ahead. Clearly the devil will be in the detail but, first and foremost, we need a new manager and a squad capable of delivering the success that should be synonymous with our club. This won't happen overnight but changes need to be made quickly.
  25. Stage one completed now they have to put a manager in place the fly in the ointment is he won’t get much for £20 million they’ll need to dig a bit deeper I’d imagine. mon the gers.
  26. Terrorists your game is through, You're gonna have to answer to...
