You’re correct none of them “thought”. There were a good few experienced managers available at the time. Ferguson and his mates were a bad joke.

I don't think any of them thought he was 'the answer', merely a body to tide us over until the end of the season.

The sacking of Clement and replacing him with Ferguson and his mates showed the complete incompetence of the board. Not one of them should be on the new board, at least the ones who thought Ferguson was the answer.

Apparently, he spoke well (although half the time the players weren't listening). Must have missed those pressers. All I ever heard was endless clichés, telling everyone "I'll dae it" (manager) and that he was "probably Scottish"😂, whilst alerting Nigel Farage that he could also be a candidate for Govan. TBF to Barry, it was a next to impossible gig and our press team/CEO shouldn't have let him get tangled up by the press last week.

Thanks Barry. I think we'd all have loved nothing more than for Barry to be the one, but it wasn't to be. He's carried himself impeccably well, and has spoken brilliantly in a very difficult period of our history.

Glad this season is over and done with. Another with a long list of disappointments. I'm glad the club have confirmed Ferguson's brief stint is over today.

A Hall of Fame member, Ferguson will now leave this role along with Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor, with enormous gratitude and best wishes of everyone at Ibrox for their efforts in these last few months. CEO, Patrick Stewart, commented: “The club, and I am sure all our supporters, will be forever grateful to Barry for stepping up and taking on the role of head coach. “He and his staff have performed admirably amongst some trying circumstances and achieved some excellent results along the way. “Barry, Neil, Billy and Allan all had distinguished playing careers with Rangers, and they have all enhanced their standing with the club for their work since February. The reception they received at Ibrox on Wednesday night was fully merited, and I know meant so much to Barry and his team. “The search for our new head coach is progressing well, and we look forward to concluding our process in the coming period.” Outgoing Head Coach, Barry Ferguson, added: “I’ve already lived the dream as a player and as captain of Rangers, and to do so as Head Coach in these last three months has been an enormous honour for me. “There have been some ups and downs, but I have loved this experience and given it my all throughout. “I want to thank Neil, Billy and Allan, the three staff members who came in with me, and all the other staff who have supported me during my time in charge. Indeed from everyone at the training centre and at Ibrox, the backing I have received has been phenomenal. “Above all, I want to thank our supporters. There is no doubt this has been a difficult season, but the backing the team and I have continued to receive in spite of that has been incredible. “I have said, no matter how this period panned out, I would always remain a committed supporter of the club, and I look forward to remaining a Rangers ambassador. "I wish whomever becomes the new manager, every success in the job.” No huge surprise I know, but he did step up when asked and for that we should be grateful.

Watched it on tv gers were poor and did nothing in ways of winning. Playing at Ibrox was too big an occasion IMO

I don’t think it’s corruption in the true sense of bought and sold. The refs are amateurs not in the true sense of love of the game but love of their team. Whether decisions generally favourable to one club and generally unfavourable to another are deliberate or sub-conscious I can’t say. Young Dallas was VAR Chief yesterday and he has no cause to love celtic. Did he get to see the bit of the footage that shows the defender cow-kick the ball out of the goal? It travels from the sole of his boot forward to the field of play and lands on the goal line thus the ball must have been over the line. Goal! Even Michael Stewart thinks it was a goal though he exculpates the ref and linesman by saying it’s not enough to think. The officials have to be sure. Fair enough for the referee but VAR conclusively shows otherwise. What was Dallas thinking?

I agree, but as the team struggled you could sense that he got caught up in it and he seemed to become more a percentage player, which we can't carry. But I feel he is stepping up.
