Tav looked a wee bit tired the other day so a rest should be in order for him. Ramsey I suspect will play at least another 30mins and players like Kent, Jack and Lundstram also need minutes but won't play the 90. A Fine lines between maintaining sharpness and risk.3 points

I hope one of you lucky bastards will be taking it upon themselves to make sure this forum receives frequent updates from the Seville odyssey3 points

I'll never understand why people moan about the price of Rangers' merchandise. Absolutely no one is forcing anyone to buy it. If you think it's too expensive then don't buy it. It really is that simple. But why spread negativity about something that is vital to the club and that many people are so obviously wiling to pay for? One very good reason for having a third strip is that a great many people are happy to buy it.2 points

Only another couple of places on both this seasons 5 year list and next seasons list. We are currently ranked 17th for this season alone and a win would take us to 10th, above Benfica, Athletico Madrid, PSG & Juventus, while we have already outpointed Inter, Man Utd & Barcelona. Not too shabby!2 points

The impression I'm getting from most fans is that we have this final in the bag. That actually worries me. I'm sure the squad aren't thinking that, but complacency is a killer. It's going to be an extremely tough game, Frankfurt have had some very decent results on the way to this final. I just hope we aren't underestimating them.2 points

Been having a wee look at the wonderful Bert Kassies site and can see we are up to 34th in the club co-efficients list. No matter the result in Seville we climb to at least 29th for next season once our Progres disaster drops away. As one who was in attendance in Luxembourg on that embarrassing low point in our history, the transformation from there to here is of Hollywood proportions. For anyone wanting a look the link is here https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/trank2022.html1 point

I just wish we would lose the 5 stars. It was cute for a while but now it would be a more confident statement just to let it go.1 point

Plus Ca Change. Thursday evening saw Rangers defeat RB Leipzig 3-1 at Ibrox, securing a Europa League final place 3-2 on aggregate. BBC Scotland maintained it's low profile, humdrum approach. Big Dick sat in a PQ studio with Richard Foster and Mark Hateley, all watching a monitor streaming the BT Sport live action from the Stadium. Seriously, a Euro semi-final involving a Scots club occurring less than half a mile from the studios and PQ's output is murmurings? Friday morning and lunch time, BBC Scotland know they need a bigger reaction. They do not return to the Dandy Duo of Tyrone Smith and Derek Rae who warned on drawing Leipzig, "Rangers supporters need to think again". You would think the Editor of the Bundesliga Newsletter, Stefan Bionkowski would be the obvious choice. Remember, when Stefan was a PQ staffer - he demanded the date of the last UK General Election be moved because his beloved Sellik were due to face Cluj in Romania that evening; he argued traveling 15,000 Sellik support not voting SNP would corrupt the result. In the real world, just over 600 green'n'grey happy hoopsters traveled to the Carpathians. Stefan dismissed Rangers chances of defeating Leipzig, surely this was PQ's most comfortable option? No, no and, thrice no. PQ went with Pat Nevin. The former Sellik Bhoys Club star threw out a few adjectives congratulating Rangers and concluded, "I hope the Rangers supporters behave better in Seville than they did in Manchester". The Chief Sports Correspondent, Chris McLaughlin said and penned nothing. The Chief Football writer, Tom English had a piece on BBC Scotland's website and it was most praise worthy, he aspired to the levels of excitement felt by all Rangers supporters. Well done Tom. Saturday was more comfortable, Sellik were kicking off at Noon and they could secure the title. Concurrently, 'Off the Ball' was broadcasting on the alternate frequency and, RAB Cosgrove stuck it on us, "Rangers qualifying for the Europa League final was not good for Scottish football". Apparently, the monies accrued will only take us and the separated brethren further away from the other Scots clubs and ensure the continued duopoly of Scottish football. As usual, despite wanting to hear from Rangers supporters, RAB's bias went unchallenged, as usual. Fair play, they had Barca Bear, Dave Smith on the show to promote his book, 'the Road to Barcelona'. Dave told a couple of good stories, Tam Cowan revealed an ignorance of matters 1972 when asking, "why was the attendance only 25,000 for the final"? I was waiting on RAB readdressing his Daily Record column of 20 years past, when he dismissed the victory because UEFA had discontinued the Cup and claimed Rangers supporters ransacked Barca Cathedral. Yep, RAB defies the official history of the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia - he wants, needs the Cathedral to have been RANSACKED. It was not, I know I visited the church on the day of the final with many other Rangers supporters, it was part of the tour. Sunday saw another three from the PQ rota crowd into that studio to view that monitor and, offer murmurings during Dundee United's visit to Ibrox. Given BBC Scotland's Herculean efforts in Seville 2003, the double decker bus parked outside the ground, Jackie Bird hosting, the band playing, ............... etc. What representation can we expect Seville 2022? You pays your money, you receive a much lesser service.1 point

Days of Wonder. Tonight the 2nd May'22, BBC Scotland are reporting on their website - 'Michael Stewart issues apology to former Rangers communications director Jim Traynor'. Michael Stewart has apologised to former Rangers communications director Jim Traynor for comments made on BBC Radio Scotland two years ago. A statement published on Twitter read, "I would like to apologise to Jim Traynor for comments made about him on BBC Sportsound programme on Monday 3 February 2020 and any distress caused to him and his family". "On the programme I referred to Jim as a dangerous character, a bully and someone who tries to create divisions for personal gain" Stewart added, "I have no justification for those remarks and withdraw them unreservedly". "I realise my remarks and the subsequent social media storm caused Jim and his family a lot of upset which I sincerely regret". "I am also conscious that my remarks have caused embarrassment to Rangers football club and I would like to apologise to them too". BBC Scotland apologised to Mr Traynor at the time. Since this thread began some four years ago, I suspect BBC Scotland and it's broadcasters have issued a dozen apologies to Rangers, Rangers employees and, Rangers supporters? As I have stated on a few occasions throughout, it is a rite of passage for those apologising, something to be done to ensure promotion.1 point
