So, he gets asked that question, and goes the opposite way, 'Aye, Tavs legs are gone, I'll be hunting him'. You've alienated an unknown proportion of your dressing room, before you've even met them. Martin will pick his players, not out of sentiment. If he does, it's his job on the line. Stop analysing every wee word, words don't matter performances and results do.6 points

I htink thats 4 wins in the last 21 games which includes 12 defeats, 4 home defeats from Northern Ireland, Finland, Greece and Iceland. How is his job not even questioned. Get rid of Clarke and put Ange in charge.3 points

I've just realised that Martin had the great fortune to play alongside Josh Windass. What more do we need from a new head coach?3 points

I'd quite happily see him play much fewer games, and a better leader as captain too. My point is, I wouldn't expect a new head coach to air that dirty washing in public, before he's even met, never mind assessed, the playing squad2 points

No pro-Palestians are 'nutters'. Nutters are people who bomb food trucks and civilians. As long as Turgeman is not a Zionist, which he probably isn't. We've had good Israeli players before.2 points

Id welcome it and it would generate interest. But I think his stock is reasonably high and he wont struggle for another job.2 points

The (over)reaction by a large group of fans since Wednesday just reinforces the idea that we've been a club stuck in the 90's. Give the guy a chance FFS. He's the first manager since we've came back up that's going to have owners with a vision and the proper structures around him.2 points

I'm far from a fanboi, but Tav has been a fantastic buy for our club, Anyone who doesn't think so is clearly quite delusional.1 point

At the time it seemed grim but it was never over by Hallowe’en. The last dozen seasons has been mostly embarrassing. Tavernier has been an excellent player for Rangers but the last two seasons show that his athleticism is falling off. Why wouldn’t it? That said, he has never been captain material which is not a criticism. Neither were Laudrup or Gascoigne.1 point

Anyone that doesn't see a problem in Tav continuing as Captain, is blind. And I include Russell Martin in that. Symbolic of shit the bed, bottle Rangers. A beacon of failure. Shouldn't be starting this new era, with that massive chip on our shoulder. Completely refresh it, make Raskin captain, and put Tavernier on the bench, worrying about alienating players when we effectively want a rebuild in which most of the players will change anyway. Some fans aren't ruthless enough, far too much sentiment.1 point

I think it's rather simplistic to put all our troubles onto Tavernier. I think it's more symbolic than anything literal. He has flaws but I still think the positives outweigh them, for now. He'll stick around, he'll remain captain - I think stripping him would create more issues - but he won't necessarily play every game.1 point

Did you knock back Real Madrid before they appointed Alonso? You talk a very good game.1 point

Really, did you apply for the Managers role? If all it takes to being successful is getting rid of Tav, you'd be a shoe-in for the job. See when John Greig was Rangers captain during Celtics 9-in-a-row, were we clueless keeping him?1 point

Maybe, just maybe, it's not successive managers, countless teammates, opposition players and managers that are clueless about Tav...........1 point

One day, maybe soon, maybe not, someone at Ibrox is going to make a statement, or a throw away line that's not going to trigger Rangers Das.1 point
-
Russell Martin says he "doesn't see a reason to change" the Rangers captaincy. The head coach, who played with Tavernier at lbrox, has been discussing the right-back's role at Ibrox. Let that sink in lads , just in the door and makes that statement. I gave him to October , it might be sooner.1 point

I agree but Mourinho would argue that if you have possession you are more likely to make mistakes which the opposition can exploit.1 point

We're building up to Messi and Ronaldo....... forgot, they're too old......1 point

Good idea. Might make me interested again. Two problems: Scotland probably can’t afford him; for the sake of his career Postecoglou can’t afford Scotland.1 point

Fair, ok. I was at that motherwell game. I can promise you, we could have had another 15-20% possession and still lost it. But I see the point you are making .1 point

It isn't big enough for most artists, but as Glasgow has live music on most nights, it's completely underutilised. We should start a petition to get @Waltersgotstyle to get Transmission Suite a perform a gif there.1 point

I made no judgement on the figures. I just thought I'd give you the facts. However, I do think a difference of 13% in average possession is significant between Celtic and ourselves. And, in my opinion, there is a benefit to having more possession: we have the ball more and our opponent has the ball less. Although, anything can happen in a one-off game.1 point

We averaged 62% possession last season. Celtic averaged 75%.1 point

Maybe the new owners could look at putting on a pop concert every week just like the place at Bridge street the O2 Academy as a way of making the NEH pay its way1 point

Don't think we had a problem getting 70% possession also, I'm not sure he will get much patience or time unfortunately1 point

And I think that's why we need to change our mindset as a support. We always want a manager silver bullet, one single man who will fix all our problems. Football just doesn't work like that anymore. There are no Walters, or Alex Fergusons. In theory, pretty much any manager we bring in, as long as they match the vision and ideas of the football operations team should be able to lead us to success. Its a bit like the 'Why are Bayern hiring Kompany' thing.1 point

He could suggest someone, but it would need to go through the football department. Relying on manager contacts is a different kettle of fish. It's not how things should be done.1 point

Propper going back to twente. Agreed a deal with them, now the clubs just need to agree. On X.1 point
