  1. Caldwell handled twice in the same sequence of play. Levein would be justified to have another go at the refs - shocking !!!!
  2. Definite penalty but player shouldnt have been so theatric !!
  3. Were there any instances when Celtic were denied decisions ? Or just DU ? How many of the DU decisions SHOULD have been given ? Even if only ONE that would be a point that Celtic gained that they shouldnt have. Jon/Gribz - update the stats ?
  4. I will say the same today as I said this time last season - I STILL believe we have a better team and a better squad than they do. If we get the belief and the luck evens out over the course we will win the league. They were SHOCKING last week and didnt really deserve to win - add that to today's game and, had the luck not been with them, they could be sitting with 1 point from 6 (and, in fact, could have lost last week but for a dodgy pen decision and a great save from Boruc to push a shot onto the post) - could have been bottom of the league with ZERO points after 2 games. Hopefully the luck evens out.
  5. get in !!!! finished 1-1
  6. IMO we would be crazy NOT to sell McCulloch - he has turned out to be a waste of the fee (after initially looking good). And aside from him playing poorly another reason that I would like to see him sold is that with BF and Mendes at the club we have guys who prefer to play it on the ground - with LM in the team there is that propensity to hoof it back to front up to him.
  7. Have you maybe considered that Davis is the preferred option and that having had that bid accepted we have pulled out of Bresciano ? Especially as Bresciano prefers Seria A or EPL ???
  8. Definitely hypocritical. Here is another slant on it..... if he is so keen on getting someone in with the "clubs best interests at heart" then I would have thought that one of the first things (after sales price) that he would be interested in is what these potential purchasers would be doing to run the club - you know, how they will IMPROVE the club. Why did he leave it till the last moment to discuss how they would run the club ?? He also needs to check his timelines if he is going to try to cast himself in a good light. Unless I am mistaken if you look at the pargraph on Cuellar he says that Cuellar asked Bain on the Monday to leave yet Bain said they met on the Sunday. And in not one quote from the Assembly did they say that Murray said if they got an offer for Cuellar then they would use the money on players (unless the Assembly didnt disseminate the info properly). BS if you ask me.
  9. OUCH..... or maybe just read some of Gribz's drunken nonsense and you will drop off.
  10. Up yer ..... Frankie :fish: Yep, us bean counters lead very interesting lives...... Have a good weekend my man
  11. He was indeed in the directors box. Not sure but I would have thought it would be in USD given the players are all owned by MLS - MLS own them and the respective clubs get a cut. Even at CAD vs USD they are almost par these days anyway.
  12. As long as they win it wont matter how Torres & Keane gel. Wonder if Rafa will rotate Torres out next week now :fish: Watch the Arsenal game ? Apparently they were pretty poor too - but their average age per starter was something like 23.... They did start without Toure, Fabregas and van Persie as well - all 3 starters.
  13. Great strike and anywhere else Gordon would have saved it.
  14. Fookers. Gooners will top that mob easy :fish:
  15. hahahaha But aye, a great strike - it was wide AND over though.....
  16. Anyone watching this ? Just saw Craig Gordon make a pretty good diving save.... rebound comes out to Torres who tries to clip it over Gordon only for Robbie Keane to get in his way and put it out for a GK. Come on Sunderland !!!!!! Jon boy.... The Gooners are gonna win me a load of money off you this season.
  17. Who would have thought that the Accies would be sitting top of the league ?? And it isnt like they had the easiest of starts (on paper) at home to Utd and away to ICT. I watched the game on Monday night between them and Utd and I thought they thoroughly deserved the 3 points.....
  18. Not yet S_A but the fee has been agreed - would be pretty sure that the personal terms will be a formality. Another young player in the team but I fear he will be played wide right a lot - hopefully he can show better there than he did when played in the same position at the end of last season. From sportinglife http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scottishpremier/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/08/08/16/SOCCER_Rangers_Davis.html&TEAMHD=scotspremiership Rangers were hoping to complete the signing of Steven Davis within the next 48 hours after confirming they have finally agreed a fee with Fulham. The Ibrox club were keen to secure the Northern Ireland international on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell in the latter part of last season. The move was thrown into doubt over the summer when both clubs failed to reach agreement over the midfielder's value. But Gers boss Walter Smith revealed after the 1-0 Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League win over Hearts that Davis is now close to putting pen to paper following months of protracted wrangling. He said: "We have reached agreement with Fulham and we still have one or two things to settle with the player and his representatives but we are hopeful that one will go through. "That should happen in the next couple of days. "It's a transfer that has been really ongoing so we don't want to count our chickens. "But we have agreed with the club now, which is a big thing, and we would hope we can reach agreement with Steven's people over the next couple of days." Rangers are also confident of completing the capture of American Maurice Edu, after agreeing a fee of US Dollars 5million (£2.7million) with FC Toronto. Smith added: "With Maurice Edu, we have to wait on a work permit for that one and hopefully we can be successful there. "He's a defensive midfield player. He was recommended to us and we had a good look at him towards the end of last season but the MLS were not prepared to sell him at that time. They are now and we managed to get in there. "I think he's a player with a really good future and I would think, if the tribunal is successful, that we will have another really good player." Fulham confirmed a fee of around £3million had been accepted but insisted the deal is still subject to personal terms being agreed. A spokeswoman explained: "Steven came up with us but then went up to Glasgow to speak to them and he's now back in London."
  19. 2.65 mill roughly
  20. You had to repeat your joke because it is pish :fish: Pretty neat, my 4yr old's name is Aaron and I always get his name on the back of his shirt - now I can save 3 quid by saying it is a squad name
  21. Dont forget though that the 4-5-1 is only when you are defending. When attacking it is a 4-3-3 - and even with the players you have in that 3-5-2 you could drop, say, Aaron (Niguez - he goes by the name Aaron, Gribz), and still effectively have THREE strikers instead of 2 as Novo would be a striker. I still fail to see the argument we hear about the 4-5-1 being very negative - with the personnel we have the 4-5-1 is actually very attacking IMO. When we don't have the ball Novo and Beasley track back and cover the full backs to make it a 4-5-1. However, as soon as we have the ball we have 3 CM's who control the ball and, hopefully, move it forward swiftly to the now 3 forwards we have (in your instance Velicka, Lafferty (if played wide left) and Novo coming forward from midfield. I just dont buy that 4-5-1 is a negative formation. Not saying that a 3-5-2 wouldnt work but I have to disagree - when I look at that back 3 I think it would leak goals like no tomorrow unless provided the protection from the midfield.
  22. Who would you play as your 3 at the back though ? Bougherra plus who ? You cant use Weir as he is too slow to play in a back 3. 4-4-2 this season or 4-5-1/4-3-3.
  23. Having signed Mendes, who to me is more of a CM I am not sure that spending 3 mill on Davis is the answer. We will have Mendes, Thomson and Ferguson fighting for the midfield places (assuming a 4-4-2). Will Davis still be fighting for a CM place or is he being bought to play RM - if he is being bought to play RM I woulde prefer we got Bresciano (although there is an age difference....). Regardless, these signings do bode well for the season.
  24. Genuine question.... do other clubs allow differing points of view on their official websites ? Not saying that we need to follow the crowd but I would actually be quite surprised if any official website entertain discenters.
  25. Maybe I am naive or missing something.... but just what exactly are Reclaim Rangers going to do in terms of action ? As you say, only SDM can choose who he sells to and we all know he is stubborn so I just dont see what RR can do to pressure him to sell to a particular someone. He has said he wants to sell, RR want him to sell so there is already common ground. The failing on both sides is that there doesnt currently seem to be any willing buyer (if you believe SDM that is). Just what benefit will RR provide to the common fan of the club ? I dont doubt that RR have the best interests of the club and the fans at heart but how will they initiate change given that they and SDM want new owners, albeit possibly a different type of owner.
