Boavista ??? That is all you need to say - there is no way Boavista were in the same class as Fiorentina. Ohhhhh and if they beat CL standard teams then just what are Werder Bremen and Sporting Lisbon ? Both of them played in the CL this year so are obviously CL teams too. Too funny..... go and take a look at the teams they played in 2003 and you will find that of every team they played the only team that played in the CL that season was Liverpool They beat : Suduva (who the hell are they), Blackburn, Celta Vigo (didn't play in the CL), Stuttgart (also didn't make the CL), Liverpool (the only CL team they put out) and Boavista (non-CL team). So with 2 mins of research their "we beat CL standard teams" is debunked. I would contend that Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen, Sporting Lisbon and Fiorentina is a MUCH tougher draw than what they faced ! But we always knew that they would come back with the "Porto won the CL the following season" argument - forget that Porto likely fielded a much changed team the following year...... Idiots !!

All the sweeter then ! If we do the quad they won't be able to live with themselves. Can you just imagine us winning the UEFA and then wrapping up the league 3 days later on the 17th...... and then beating QoS for the QUAD on the 24th. Suicide Central for the Tims, that scenario !

If any Tims are honestly saying that they beat better teams then they need to get off the drugs ! They are bitter, always have been and always will be. Forever living in Rangers' shadow must be hard for them

Jambo supporting friend just made a good point. Will the Tims be supporting Zenit ? Means they are supporting Advocaat and Ricksen. The results today are the worst results the Tims could ever have imagined. 2 ex Rangers that they HATE playing against the RANGERS. They will be spewing all the way to May 14 !!!

    SPL or Uefa

both....... Very difficult one to choose but I think it would still have to be the SPL - but a VERY close decision.
  10. If you mean for getting sent off then you are right, was JCD that got sent off against Lyon at Ibrox.
  11. I thought he played well and he worked their defence a lot more than JCD. What he did was foolish and he deserved the yellow, no doubt - but it looked more like they were merely getting in each other's faces. Liverani was at it too, so should also have been carded. The downside to all this is that he misses out on the chance to play in the final - and he is a good player to come on. It was stupidity but, as Pete says, these things happen in the heat of the moment. Plenty of other players have done it before and he won't be the last. To try to make a comparison (not sure it is a good one but here goes....) what about the yellow that Ferguson got in the 2nd leg of the QF against Sporting which put him out of the first leg of the semi ? He got yellow carded and therefore suspended from the next game - for kicking the ball away. That was as stupid a yellow as Cousin's. Yes, Cousin was sent off and could have cost us, but so could Ferguson's - both were stupid yet there is outcry over Cousin's but not Fergie's.

And we have Walter Smith to thank for that - the way he has turned this squad into one which cares for the club and for each other is nothing short of incredible ! As many have said tonight - Walter Smith is a RANGERS LEGEND. What an incredible night - I am hyper !!

That picture makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end !!! GET IN !!!!
  14. Same - wife is out to dinner so I just had to call her on her cell phone and start screaming down the phone at her - the whole restaurant heard but I couldn't give a monkeys. WE ARE THE PEOPLE MANCHESTER HERE WE COME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Indeed we can. It is definitely not beyond us. This team do not know when they are beaten - they are ALL playing for that jersey and that will do me just fine !
  16. Unbelievable - it seriously still hasn't sunk in......... what a feeling - the QUAD is still on !!!!!
  17. Catrine - between Mauchline and Auchinleck. Was thinking about buying a house in Saltcoats, for investment purposes.
  18. No I don't !! I mean yes I do... ohhh, I don't know. Me ? Argue ? never - want to bet ?
  19. I agree with you calscot I dont think he would fit the wage structure and he isnt the type to be able to play the lone striker role. He could fit in as an attacking mid as he has done before, but for the price and wage I reckon we could get a better player than Smith. Re Fleck, is he not a midfielder ?
  20. Where you from then Cal ? Killie is my nearest club but have supported Rangers (and Arsenal) for as long as I remember.
  21. Rangers and Celtic I can see (though never from one to the other) and the same for Man U. But Motherwell, Killie & Aberdeen is a strange selection indeed !
  22. Aye, Rijkaard was interviewed pre Man U game earlier this week and sais that he thinks he has played his last game for Barcelona.
  23. I want Liverpool to win. I think a Liverpool v Man U final would be a better final.
  24. Re Shinawatra and his assets, his lawyer has said that his assets should be "unfrozen soon" - funnily enough his lawyer is the new Minister of Finance..... Not sure if he bought Man City before his assets were frozen or not Gribz, I know it was right round the same time that the two things happened, maybe he got loans from associates ? Regardless of what you think of Ericksson Man City were playing some great stuff in the first half of the season and sitting 3rd in the league in November was a good achievement. Bizarre is that Shinawatra and Eriksson had a 5 yr plan where the 1st year was to secure a top 10 spot - they are sitting 9th, so Eriksson looks like achieving what he was told to achieve and still gets punted. Ridiculous.
  25. I meant to add the :fish: to the end of my comment. No doubt he brings quality and, even if playing poorly, he seems to inspire others into playing well (not necessarily the right way, but it seems effective).
