Take a look at some of the FF Boycott lists - some of them are hilarious !
-
What you on about ? At Stamford Bridge ? Doubt it, that record is only in the EPL - Barcelona went to Stamford Bridge last season and won (or mayeb the season before)
-
And with little justification because the only team that is being helped by this is..... Celtic - it certainly isn't us, asking a team to play 5 games in 10 days is incredible.
-
Come on Wij, don't be so down on yourself saying you are an o2 thief and a Total cnut - you aren't that bad really my man ! :fish:
-
If it was good clean fun we don't want to know.... if they were friendly in a lesbian way we ALL want to know...

Your serenading of Lauren when she first joined has you as a stick on for that award I think Jon !

From Sporting Life The Clydesdale Bank Premier League season will be extended by four days to May 22 if Rangers reach the UEFA Cup final. The Scottish Premier League have revealed two provisional fixture lists, one which will be implemented if Rangers beat Fiorentina in their European semi-final, and the other for if they are beaten by the Italians. Both fixture lists include a run of two SPL games in three days for Rangers, who would have to play the Scottish Cup final two days after their final league game if their European run continues. If they miss out on the UEFA Cup final, which takes place on May 14 in Manchester, Rangers must play St Mirren on May 13 and May 15. That would allow the season to end on schedule, on May 18. However should Rangers overcome Fiorentina those dates would become unsuitable. Walter Smith's side would instead face Motherwell on May 17, rather than travel to Aberdeen the following day, which was due to be their final game of the campaign according to the original fixture list. They would then play St Mirren on Tuesday, May 20, and face Aberdeen on Thursday, May 22 - two days before their Scottish Cup final date with Queen of the South. The other matches involving top-six sides - Dundee United v Celtic and Hibernian v Motherwell - would also be played on May 22 to ensure the season finishes for each club at the same time. Because Fir Park would be required on May 17 if Rangers reach the Manchester final, Gretna's final match would have to be moved and a date of May 8 has been pencilled in by SPL chiefs. Rangers' outstanding games against St Mirren and Motherwell presented the SPL with their problem. SPL secretary Iain Blair said: "It is well documented that this has been an exceptionally challenging season in terms of fixturing. "The combination of a number of diverse circumstances has produced unparalleled scheduling problems. "The publication of these two models now gives our clubs, their fans and our broadcasting and other partners early notice of when these games might be played. "Our aim throughout has been to protect the integrity of our competition, balance the interests of our member clubs and have regard to player welfare and fixturing precedent. The models we have prepared seek to discharge this aim. "Both models reflect the fixturing complications the SPL has faced this season. "The first model will be adopted if Rangers FC fail to beat Fiorentina in the UEFA Cup semi-finals. "The second model exceptionally provides a modest extension to the season to enable Rangers to represent the SPL and all of Scottish football in the UEFA Cup final. "It reflects the fact that the outstanding fixtures cannot reasonably be played in the available time and will involve some disruption for a number of our clubs. "This model will involve moving the last round of top-six games to Thursday May 22. "It is clear that future requests for changes to our scheduled fixture list will have to be compelling before approval is given." Games have been postponed for varying reasons this season, with four put back to later dates following the death of Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell in December. Eight have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches; the two games involving Rangers and Celtic ahead of Scotland's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Italy were called off after a Scottish FA request; and Rangers succeeded in a request to have their SPL game against Gretna postponed in December to afford them extra preparation time for their Champions League game against Lyon. ===================================== SO if we make the UEFA final we have to play that Final on May 14, followed by a game on May 17 and May 20, May 22 in the league and then the SC Final on May 24 - Gee, thanks SPL. That is a ridiculous run of games and the sole reason it seems they are doing it is such that the SC Final is the last game in the calendar - move it back a week or two. Even if we don't make the UEFA final we are being asked to play May 13, 15 and 18 to close out the season - again, 3 games in 5 days and the Tims think everyone is trying to help US win the league - aye, right !! Why not stretch the games at least a bit - May 13, May 17, May 20 - then the SC final on May 24 ? If this was the Tims being faced with the same fixture back-log and being asked to play 5 games in 10 days there would be outrage.

Are we really that confident that we can go with a 4-2-2-1 and play with just 9 outfield players from the start ? :fish:

Here's hoping my man. I think most of us will readily admit that watching Gers this season has, at times, been painful - but then they show the ability to play as they did in Lisbon - infuriating. However, on Sunday I am sure you won't be giving a shit what the performance is like as long as they produce a win ! Winning the league is what counts this season and then hopefully next year we will see a better brand of football.
-
Says the man who is STILL bitter about Arsenal winning the league at Anfield in '89 !! :fish:
-
Will you not be giving the tickets away seeing as you dont enjoy watching Rangers just now ? :fish: Nice one gisa - enjoy the game my man - and hope your wee nephew gets to see a Gers win on his first trip to the tattiedome.
-
So it was your fault !! :fish:

Oh come on Calscot....... my last three posts have all agreed with you, something is seriously wrong Walter will stay through this contract and if things are going well may even add another. I think McCoist truly appreciates working with someone who has a huge amount of credibility in the game and I doubt AM will mind waiting even 5 years to be able to take over the club he loves.
-
Completely agree. Anyone remember how much Wigan had to pay Hearts for Webster ? I think it was 200k and rumour on the street was that we would pay whatevern that fine was, so at 200k for a guy who is an international, Scottish and still young I think he would be an excellent piece of business - obviously depending on how he rehabilitates from his injury concerns.
-
Webster played against Gretna at Ibrox in a 4-0 win, scored a goal and was named MOTM. But I agree, it will be Dailly, he is the natural replacement for Weir and, in fact, may put in a better performance as he is a bit more mobile than Weir.

It is mildly amusing reading McGeady's interview.... He says that everything is in their favour now but it would have been out of their hands had they lost - has no-one taught him mathematics ?? It is STILL out of their hands - we are a point ahead with two games in hand - the pressure right now is still on them because despite the win last night they still, in my opinion, need to win the next OF game too which obviously isn't a given. As Frankie says, we are still in the driving seat and given the standings I would actually say that unless they win the next OF game the pressure is actually firmly on them, not us.
-
PS Great poll though Calscot - certainly gets the debate flowing. We need more of these, wish I had the imagination to think of some of these type polls to get a debate moving.

The bigger loss is Cuellar for the next Tims game. I would play Dailly at CB against St Johnstone as I reckon he will be asked to play CB against the Tims.

I disagree. When you have a split second to make a decision it makes very little difference to what you have taught yourself. Your brain doesnt get the chance to process in the heat of the moment as methodically as it does when you are teaching yourself not to do it. Everyone's instincts react in different ways too. I will give you your motorcycle synopsis as I don't know about it. My reference to hindsight was not poor at all. Read it in its proper context (or at least the context it was made). Actually, you are using hindsight to make your argument too because I can almost guarantee that had we drawn that game 1-1 last night given his sending off and the subsequent penalty save you would also be shouting his praises for doing so (yes I am assuming here but I think a fair assumption) So why would it make it OK for you to use hindsight to show he did the wrong thing but then others don't get the benefit of hindsight to analyse the incident ? Further, read what I said. I said that (or at least meant) at the precise moment in time the incident happened it would have been better to lose the goal and try to fight back - but had we nicked the draw then of course it was the right decision as it would have saved the game for us. Sorry if this doesn't fit in the neat little box you want that he shouldn't have given away the penalty but had it got us a point and left them still 4 behind us then I would say he did the right thing 10 times out of ten. You use hindsight to say we lost the game due to his actions and could lose the next game due to his absense - so why shouldnt I also surmise and say that the red would have been worth it to avoid defeat ? Besides, I see nothing wrong in me saying "it would have been fine if...." because that IS the case and many many people would agree. You may be a purist and that is fine - but sorry that I see it a different way in that avoiding defeat last night could have been the 2nd to last nail in their coffin for the season. The outcome wasn't as we wanted - but then, you too are using hindsight to analyse it. Every single outfielder knows he shouldn't handle the ball but I bet you in similar circumstances the cast majority of outfield players would have done the same thing - it is, as you say, instincts ruling - they want to avoid a goal at all costs and when it is a split second decision your mind doesn't quite process "I shouldn't do this" it simply processes "I don't want them to score a goal". Does he wish he hadn't handled ? Very likely he does wish he hadn't handled. Would his response be the same if we had walked away with a draw ? Maybe not. I don't really care what you saw in Celtic losing to Xamax with 10 men. There are also plenty of instances where the 10 men have overcome 11 so to use one instant is hardly representative. Is it harder to play 10 vs 11 ? Usually. Is it something which is impossible to overcome ? No and we have proven it a few times ourselves against the Tims. Put yourself in his position for a moment if you can. If you were playing for Rangers against your arch rivals, drawing 1-1 in a game where, if you avoid defeat, you could virtually win the league and tell me you wouldn't do it. None of us know for sure but I reckon I would have handled, you yourself say you have done it in the past - yet we all know you should never handle as an outfielder - so did you not train yourself to not handle ? I don't think any amount of training prepares you for the instant it happens in a game for ANYONE.
-
How can you possibly have one or other mindset before the goal ? NO player goes into a game expecting to have to make a decision between saving a sure goal thus suffering a red card, or letting the ball go in. In the heat of the moment, even if the player HAD decided before the game they wouldnt do it, things change. When it is a split second decision I dont think they even think about it, they just want to prevent a goal. That said, and using hindsight, it would have been better to have lost a goal and fought back - but if we had of nicked a draw with him sent off, then my hindsight would suggest he did the right thing.
-
Carlos didnt play against East Stirling, the only game he had missed, until next Sunday of course. Fergie came off the bench against Hearts at Tynecastle and also didnt play against Thistle in the game at Ibrox.

Here here gisabeer. As supporters we SHOULD demand the best and if we can keep this squad intact we shouldnt need to spend copious amounts of money every year for the next few years as it is a young team we have. But I still see SDM dismantling it in the search for money, sadly !

Dirty rain mac I am wearing now my man. I am not saying he won't be loyal, just that 9 months is hardly enough time to give him credit for being loyal. I hope he sticks to his word as he has been incredible for us and I hope he isnt pushed out the door by the club for the cash ! He gets plenty of credit from me for what he has done for us and I would like nothing more than to see him with us till the end of his career. He is a class act.
-
Tis easy to say he has loyalty to the club when he has only been here 9 months. His loyalty hasnt yet been tested - a bit premature to suggest he is loyal in my opinion. Do I think he is being sincere with what he says ? Yep, but still, at 9 months his loyalty hasnt been tested yet - will be interesting to see if t gets tested in July/August and whether he is still as loyal. Also will be interesting if his opinion changes if/when the club try to punt him for a large fee.......

I predict the Tims go into meltdown and barrage the ref with coins, pitch invasions and the like. Ohhhhhh, you mean the result ? I predict we win 2-1 with goals from JCD and Fergie
