  1. Also confirmed on SSN - good signing, I actually would like to see him deployed as an attacking mid.

Agreed. Good teams but Pot 2 and 3 had better teams than both of them.

I think we actually have a chance !!! Celtic got a favourable draw too.

Watching it now - amazing how difficult they have made this !
  7. With Osasuna ? :fish:
  8. So you would be happy playing in 4 qualifiers plus 6 group games (hopefully more.....) in a season ? Pretty sure I wouldn't be. I can see both sides of the argument to be honest.
  9. Definitely AM, with Hemdani next in line. Maybe I am expecting too much but I thought Davie Weir was very ordinary tonight. Thought Whittaker started out OK but looked poor in the 2nd half. I thought BF was pretty poor too to be honest - a number of times he looked to just stroll onto a ball and was easily beaten to it by his opposite number. Not sure if JCD should have had a penalty - but there was little chance the ref would give it when JCD was always looking for it but he led the line very well indeed. It was a tough performance from us but there were plenty of mistakes too. I know, I know - I am being too harsh - but I felt that the defence looked shaky (allowed them far far too many crosses), the midfield struggled to get on the ball - but JCD did a very good job up top on is own.
  10. We are now in the competitive stage of the season though Fraser - to give Sebo a chance just in case he comes good doesn't work unless we are already up by a few goals - we aren't yet in the luxurious position of being able to carry players. Cousin came in and played well as a sub against Red Star, that is why he got his chance to start. Sebo got lucky against Chelsea for a goal, but what else has he really offered ? Mike, a great article and one which the Sebo worshippers (Gribz.... you about ? :fish: ) should take note of.

  12. There is no way we will get money for Ehiogu. He is one I could see being released when/if we get Webster signed on a permanent basis.
  13. Agreed, fantastic read Barry and thought-provoking too - or it should be for Spiers.......

    SPL odds

As I thought..... I don't think you fully grasped what gisabeer said. He said the odds were 5/4 ON, I think you are thinking he just said 5/4. If someone says 5/4 on it means odds on and therefore 4/5. The difference in profit to a 100 quid bet is only 3.33
  15. Not in 4 years we won't.... he would be out of contract :fish:

Beattie, 5/4 on and 5/6 are literally the same odds.
  17. Still..... if it stays at 1-1 that is another good result for us ! 4 points clear after 3 games, take that any time.
  18. SAF also confirmed this in an interview last week. He said that his brother Martin (Man U's chief scout) had been watching him and was impressed. We won't be able to hold onto him longer term I don't think but if we get 2 or 3 seasons out of him and then he goes for 10 mill I think we have done good business, help the finances and hopefully find another player of his calibre.
  19. Mon The Sheep !!!!!!!!
  20. I think if we got 8 mill for JAB we should be looking for at least the same for Cuellar.
  21. Re the 3rd goal and the fresh air kick.... it was funny, but just how cool, calm and collected was Cousin's follow up finish ?
  22. No coupon on today, was playing golf so missed putting one on. Hearts bust the Mrs on her coupon. I did manage to be on Everton to beat Spurs on Monday night - got 6/5 when Everton were already leading 1-0.
  23. Funnily enough I asked a Hibbee friend this same question during the week - he said Brown is head and shoulders above both the other two and thought that the Whittaker signing was a strange one - but then he dislikes Rangers so doesn't want to see these guys do well with us. Personally I would have liked to have seen Brown at Rangers... BUT..... we needed to strengthen our squad as a whole so to get Thomson and Whittaker for less than Celtic paid for one player I think is good business for us. I would like to see us retain the majority of the squad we have and possibly start to look for one or 2 very good players at 3 mill who add that true touch of quality. But in this transfer window our squad was so thin that we needed numbers as much as we also needed quality. I think we got what we needed in Thomson and Whittaker - and they probably got what they wanted in Brown.
  24. I know Pete, that is exactly what I am getting at. It is funny how much confidence WS has instilled in his team, and the support, in such a short space of time.
  25. It is funny how far our expectations have come in such a short space of time. 6 months ago we were just happy to win, now we are being picky over losing goals. Funny thing is that I felt the same way - scoring for fun but somehow I still felt a bit disappointed at giving 2 goals away - but you know that WS will have them working on that. 7 goals to a team like Falkirk, actually any team, is very good going. Great result and looking forward to seeing the goals.
