  1. Beasley....
  2. According to the commentary on Clyde there have just been monkey chants from the home end when JCD tried a shot. Wonder if UEFA will take action..... consistent application of their own rules which we fell foul of last season and season before ?? I won't hold my breath either.
  3. I like that formation as we flood the midfield with 5 when we dont have the ball (McCulloch & Beasley will track back) and then we have a bit of pace to hit on the break too with Beasley and Darche. I think it is a strong line up and it should see us finish the job
  4. If Boyd doesn't start then you would have to think Novo has every right to be pissed off, although Darche is no doubt the preferred option at the club. Glad you used quote marks around your front 3 there SA - no way will Smith go with a front 3 - but I would be in favour of flooding the midfield with 5 players for this game. A sidenote about Novo - the wee man has had a very good start to the season (his goal against Chelsea gave him confidence and his strike against Caley was a peach too), as Gribz says, he could have a very good season ahead of him - question though, should we be offering the wee man a new contract now or should we be waiting, knowing that it is his last season. Personally I think he is a great squad player to have because he is versatile, determined, energetic, pacy and wants to play for the club - I think we should be getting him another contract now before other clubs come sniffing in January.
  5. BC2 is right Buba - the SFA have created a can of worms that they will ultimately have little to no chance of policing. Had they restricted it to sectarian songs then it might have been policed - but as soon as you include "offensive" songs then it is, IMO, impossible to police - because what is offensive to one person is not offensive to another. At an extreme you will have Rangers fans who find EVERY Celtic song offensive (and vice versa) so does that mean the song actually IS offensive ? Of course not, but all it does is make the SFA's job even harder than it already is. I said at the time and I say it again, this piece of legislation is nigh on impossible to police consistently and fairly. Also, the SFA are trying to tackle a problem the Scottish Executive have not even tried to handle - if the Executive truly wanted an end to sectarian issues then they would completely revamp the schooling system and abolish segregated schooling - but do they ? will they ? I doubt it.
  6. How good a starting weekend for us though.... convcincing win ourselves, then watch Hearts, Aberdeen AND Celtic drop points - if only Killie had scored that would have been the perfect weekend.
  7. Seems Jefferies isnt too impressed with Celtic over the handling though...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/k/kilmarnock/6926175.stm
  8. Eh ? Doesn't sound anything like it.... or are you still drinking ? :fish:
  9. Moses Ashikodi. You have Lee McCulloch in your squad twice there Gribz. I think we are stronger at GK - McGregor has a year's more experience and although I know what you are saying about Klos, Klos never wanted to play and was never likely to play unless absolutely necessary. I would discount his class because of that. Most definitely stronger in all the other areas IMO, although the midfield could definitely be doing with a creative type in there and we could be doing with another striker.
  10. Only tapping up if they go behind the club's back - in this instance they are looking for the clubs approval are they not ? They haven't went directly to the player but asked Killie for assurances that Naismith is willing to talk to them. That isnt tapping up I dont think
  11. It could be that SDM didnt think anyone else was interested so Gers withdrew their offer expecting Killie to come back to the table. Now that it appears the Tims are interested SDM may eat humble pie, offer the 2 mill and hope to get the player - but as soon as you have both OF teams in for him there becomes a bidding war - only people to win in that situation is Killie (and, more than likely, the Tims as they will happily pay more than we will). I would have thought that, if Naismith is to be played as a striker, that we could get a better striker for 2 mill though.
  12. Scroll down the page when you click on the link Fraser
  13. I would think the "taken out" portion would be easy to deduce... VERY LITTLE. If I had the time at work, and you provide the link Frankie, I could take a look at the financials too.
  14. Looks like Celtic are about to sign Naismith http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/k/kilmarnock/6926175.stm

Where on the website ? I went on and the next game is the Caley game on August 4th.
  17. But if we are looking at consistency between us and the sheep then UEFA is not the issue, it will be the SPL. UEFA have opened a can of worms too and it will be interesting to see what happens when the undoubted racist chants emanate from stands across Europe, to see if they will apply consistency.
  18. I would go with your team except I would play McCulloch LM and use Novo RM (as you suggested after posting your team). If the game is tied up early enough I would give Sebo a chance to come on for a decent run out.
  19. I doubt we will be getting a big name in any time soon Gribz. Hope I am wrong though
  20. Now... for you Cammy... perhaps Mr McCoist will use this as one of his positive "banter" interviews in the future :fish: Absolute quality.
  21. Cammy, I highly dount that we would be deducted points whilst the sheep (is that sectarian/offensive - yep, I am sure it is...) get away with their taunts Re the Ibrox disaster, Durrant, Davie Cooper etc. It could happen, sure, but very unlikely IMO - the SPL already have to be aware what a can of worms they have opened and they must know that consistent application is VITAL for this to work. Also, yes we can agree that it is unfair and wrong - but what evidence do you have to suggest it will happen ? Until it happens we can't really make judgement.
  22. To be fair Re killing of civilians though Gribz.... their own insurgents are killing their fellow countrymen - it isn't JUST the allied troops - and don't forget... you are saying American troops but the UK have troops in there too, along with other allied forces, so it is a bit unfair to accuse ONLY the US.
  23. If it were me I think I would utilise the cash from 2 of those 3 players and pay extra for a quality creative midfielder. Or sell one of Thomson, Hemdani or Ferguson (Hemdani probably as Thomson is one for the future and selling him so soon after getting him makes little sense - and Ferguson is still better than the rest when he decides he wants to be) - sadly Hemdani would be the odd man out even though he has been our best performer - and use the cash from that sale added to some of the other money and get a good quality creative mid. But our squad has taken shape and it looks strong !!
  24. Mike (ascender) said earlier that his deal with the Spanish outfit fell through. I also would prefer we spent the extra on Naismith, proven in the SPL and with potentially a sell-on fee - the chances of getting a fee for a 30 yr old (Cousin) are minimal whereas with Naismith we would likely get a fee and recoup at least our outlay.
  25. I am in a similar frame of mind - would prefer we take the cash available for the 3 players and buy one creative midfielder of genuine quality. Fraser, the figures we are using for Whittaker, Naismith etc are taking into account how much has already been spent - not one of us believe it is an ADDITIONAL 10 mill. Wishful thinking if we were.
