I thought that the deadline for issuing the accounts was the end of October (under the Plus Markets stock exchange rules)? No sign of them yet.

Yeah, went to a Japanese club.

I didn't expect it as it's a week early, but given the English Premiership thought it appropriate then perhaps we should have as well.

There was a minute's silence at the St Mirren game.

And yet nothing was done about the 2 Aberdeen players' (Paton and Diamond) on-line sectarian slurs, and they have gone about their football careers without any further mention. Compare and contrast the treatment from the hypocrites in the press, politicians etc.

Craig, the bits I have read about it suggest that the EBTs require to be discretionary, and therefore we may fall foul under that for obvious reasons. However I'm no more an expert in it than you and it could be that this is incorrect.

Rangers Owner Craig Whyte Meets With Bigoted Vanguard Bears Group
Bluedell replied to Ergatrude's topic in Rangers Chat
It's probably also a personal security issue. There's many (most) people on this site who also don't publicise their own details. No reason why the VB guys should be any different. Also BH, given the fact that it's the (probably) first time that they have met with the Chairman of the club, there's every reason for them to explain where they fit in to the whole picture, and the fact that they then get met with the title of this thread also suggests that they were correct in doing so. You and I may know about the VBs but there's plenty who don't. It's a real coup for them getting the interview. Hats off to them.- 20 replies

There are media organisations that will have a go at both, but the BBC has been one-sided for a number of years. The VB guys put together a dossier 2 or 3 years ago on it. I didn't agree with everything in it but the salient points show a definite bias, which is confirmed by one or two fairly senior people within the organisation. This has continued since then and they have shown a lack of objectiivity. Do you also think Spiers is totally impartial when it comes to Rangers?

I don't believe we paid any corporation tax during the period in question, so there's nothing to set the deduction against.

It depends what this is. Is it a company that we are having a dispute with in respect of how much we are due to pay them (highly possible givenn the nature of the company ) who are trying to take advantage of our well publicised problems by taking us to couirt over something that would normally be resolved by other means, or is it a sign of a serious cashflow problem and we are struggling to pay anyone? If it is the former then it's a storm in a teacup and I can't get excited about it. if it's the latter then I guess all will be revealed over the next couple of months.

Not all of them

Correct. I caught little bits of Radio Clyde's phone-in last night and it all seemed to be about our financial situation. Obviously Celtic lying third in the league wasn't an issue for them.

Had a look and it IS mostly pish. Borrow Borrow - old news. Says we didn't receive a bid for Jelavic. Claims that the new fixed charge mean liquidation is more likely and making a loss is far more likely. Suggests the lack of understanding about what it is all about. Promises Promises - Claims that MHL are doing all the negotiating with HMRC and can't communicate with HMRC. There was me thinking that we were using Andrew Thornhill QC. Also witters on about people claiming SDM would pay off our tax liability. Not sure what planet he's on. The Devil Is In The Details - yes, we also have questions over Whyte meeting his commitments, but there is nothing to suggest that he has not legally met them and the RTC blog can't come up with anything to suggest it either. Rangers Cashflow - the top line of the club's cashflow seems to ignore season ticket money, and I have never seen a cashflow forecast done in this manner. I'm not going to waste any more time on it, but there's nothing that causes me additional concern.

No, not been on, and got no wish to either. There's probably some truth in some of the stuff they have but much of it will be crap.

Close appear to have the rights to our catering income from Azure, presumably in return for an upfront payment to help with the cashflow. This is just making their rights to that income more secure, I believe. However, if anyone has got a better interpretation than that as it's not the clearest.....

The song is distasteful and it is about child abuse, but you certainly shouldn't be arrested for singing it at a football game. It's one of the few songs that doesn't do us any credit by singing it and it would be better if the words were changed.

Yeah, that was part of the point I was making. It's all very strange. In fact did it even happen?

They weren't at Ibrox. They were at the SPL's offices, according to the article.

How does that work? The court order allowed them to go to a third party's offices and root through boxes and drawers? Is that really how it works?

Yeah Craig, that's my thoughts as well. Perhaps I should call up Keevins tonight and get him to explain it in detail to me.
