  1. I can't see why we would allow him to leave in January.
  2. I'sd be happy for him to be a squad player if we could get him for no fee and at the same wages as he was on before he left.
  3. It appears that the directors are still being dictated to by the business plan imposed by the bank, and there may not be the option to spend, even if we have brought in more cash than would have originally be envisaged.
  4. With Sharia law in place? They would be brave.
  5. Surely it's no worse than the hooligan problem in Russia? I think that the Times article was the initial catalyst for the England bid going downhill, but I'm sure Panorama didn't help.
  6. Qatar for 2022? Why have a world cup in a country that only has 2 females for every 7 males?
  7. That's a shame. It would have been great to have the world cup on our doorstep. It may be another generation before they get the chance to do it again.
  8. The strike was over more than them receiving "abuse". It seems clear that Regan is lying if he says he gave the associations the full reasons for their Resign now, Stewart Regan!
  9. It is about Rangers. In case you hadn't noticed, we are unable to sing TBB or WDYGH without the risk of ending up in court. You have the Catholic Church and MSPs interfering with refereeing issues, that could affect our club in the future. We even had the dreadful treatment of the Nithsdale as they attempted to stand up for our support. There are a large number of varied issues on which this could help.
  10. It's a good idea, given some of the decisions that the Scottish legal system has come up with recently. I'd certainly be up for it.
  11. What has footballing ability got to do with it?
  12. So Davie Weir can't give players that are better than him an ear-bending? Footballing ability shouldn't have anything to do with captaining ability. McCulloch is quite right to pass on his experience to younger players. If Walter disagreed then he'd be soon telling Jig about it. Tellingly it was Weiss that was hooked.
  13. Stephen Allan, Stuart MacAulay and Andy Tait. All Cat 3 Specialist Assistant Refs. They'll be very popular in the future......
  14. Well said, Walter.
  15. Sounds about right for Lennon. Brought in for non-footballing reasons.
  16. What's the bigger crime? Drink driving and putting people's lives at risk or telling a white lie to a manager after a game has finished? What's the bigger crime? Drink driving and putting people's lives at risk or forwarding an email? Who should lose their job? You decide. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2010/11/26/celtic-coach-alan-thompson-on-drink-driving-charge-86908-22741552/
  17. I doubt they would be willing to do it, as it would effectively be breaking a picket line, and could end up being shunned by their colleagues in the future.
  18. Mainly Dougie McDonald and Hugh Dallas, is what I'm led to believe, but also just trying to reinforce the message of Celtic good, refs bad. It's very telling that despite the promises of future action by the SFA, they have still not seen fit to call Hooper or Reid to explain their recent outbursts. The concerns of the refs are not being treated seriously by the SFA. For example, they have not bothered to try and attempt to get any assurances from the clubs about future conduct. If I was a ref, I would be looking at taking action over a much longer period than one weekend.
  19. My information is that certain people within the SFA (eg Peat) are being bombarded with phone calls from celtic park every day.
  20. and everyone on Radio Clyde has been praising him for the job he is doing. Lawwell is on the phone as we speak telling them how to spin this latest course of events. Both Regan and Doncaster have shown an incredible degree of incompetence and should resign now.
  21. EoL has the following quotes: Chief of Israeli refs Yariv Teper: "We did not know the real reasons. I have heard them now and it has been cast in a new light, but we can't go back on it now." KNVB Business Manager Gijs de Jong: "We thought it was a pay strike. When we found out that referees had been given death threats we gave up all thought of stepping in and doing this."
  22. Apparantly the Polish refs have withdrawn!
  23. Chic "Chico" Young. Apparently they were speaking to the head of the Israeli refs last night who confirmed that they didn't know the refs were on strike and the reason for it, and he got a bit "sheepish" when he was told and realised that his refs were already in the air on their way to Scotland.
  24. ...which says more about you than it does about McCulloch.
