  1. I see the the SFA have deliberatley withheld the information that tour refs are on strike from the foreign refs.
  2. Full time and half time? :D
  3. They aren't employees so they can't get "sacked" and therefore there is also nothing illegal about what they are doing.
  4. I hadn't realised Lloyds set the Irish corporation tax rate. Banks are unreasonable. They have been like that for years. They make uncommercial decisions and approach things in a way that normal businesses find frustrating. I hate dealing with them these days, and they have changed so much in the last 10-12 years. I can't say for sure that there is no element of being anti-Rangers in the way that they have dealt with the club, but I haven't seen anything that is so out of the ordinary that I can't put it down to banks just being banks.
  5. I'd always put Lloyds attitude to us down to: 1. A proven inability by the directors of the club to keep the club within its facility, and an inability to limit spending. 2. Linked to point 1, the club showed ever sign of being inherently loss-making and with the CL income potentially disappearing for Scottish clubs, drastic steps were required. 3. Being penalised for going over our facility at the same time as PPG's cashflow showed that they were not able to make the scheduled loan repayments.
  6. I believe Miller is also responsible for the Irish economy and the Korean crisis.
  7. I'm getting an error page when I try and access page 2 of the refs' strike thread. I've had several times over the pastt few days and it's getting frustrating. I have also had the odd occasion when I go into the main rangers forum that the format is wonky, and all the test is obver to the left side of the page. I also just got the error page when trying to post this. Will try again.
  8. I'd also go for :kb: although I felt the whole team deserved a lot of credit.
  9. I don't see that Ireland are going to suffer less than Rangers have, even though the 2 situations are not comparable. Leggat's Lloyds articles are not up to his usual standard, IMHO.

    Hutton

He was dreadful for the first 30 minutes, but after sending Scholes the wrong way, he seemed to settle down and played well for the rest of the game.
  11. Only the Catholic Church could take a satirical look at their own failure to prevent child abuse as sectarian or bigotry. I'd be interested to know why it's insulting to the pope given his well-documented failure to take action against abusers and why it is so offensive.
  12. Big Kirk had a great game. Well done, big man.
  13. Their first non-RC director was David Smith in the early 90s (1994?) , was it not?
  14. I wonder if the RC church realise that they are asking the SFA to break the law on a number of issues. Perhaps there should be an investigation into Peter Kearney and if he is found guilty of it then he will be removed from his post. As has been pointed out, a few employees of the RC chuch have been guilty of much worse crimes than forwarding an email and they don't see fit to remove them from their posts (or even report it to the proper authorities), so it is hypocritical of them, but that's no surprise. Out of interest what did the email say?
  15. I've given this further thought and the only rational explanation I can come up with is that he has talked to the referees and is blaming the intimidation and threats that refs have received outside of football as sectarian. I can only presume that he is therefore accusing the Celtic support as sectarian, but how that squares with the abuse that Willie Collum received from them is beyond me. A totally unhelpful comment that brings an unnecessary element into it.
  16. I don't know what he's talking about. Is he blaming Celtic of sectarianism? If not, I don't know what he is suggesting but to bring sectarianism into it is very irresponsbile, and proves that my call for him to resign was correct, and he is clearly not fit for the job.
  17. There's 2 issues. One is the club claiming that TBB is banned, and the second that it is sectarian. The first may or may not be true but they would get a lot more support if they didn't keep repeating the second. Sadly Andy Kerr seems to support the misguided view view in respect of it being sectarian.
  18. Without Bougherra and Edu (and Papac?) to firm up the team I can see a 0-3 loss.
  19. I find that hard to believe.
  20. The guys who run football in this country would make you weep. SFA president George Peat said a "culture of innuendo and conspiracy theories" had "tarnished the image of the game" but did not have the courage to mention which club and which people were promoting such a culture. He also said "we must sympathise with the grievances of the referees" but has done absolutley nothing to address the grievances and has admitted to not even discussing John reid's comments. SFA chief executive Stewart Regan made some noises recently about a "respect" campaign early next year but has actually done nothing about it despite admitting that he "completely understand(s) why incessant scrutiny, criticism and questioning of their integrity has brought them to the brink of a withdrawal of labour." Rather than pulling out all the stops to address the issue, he is more concerned about selling out the referees by bringing in some from overseas. SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster has just stepped back and that he expects the games to go ahead without ackniowledging that it is one of his member clubs that has created this situation. He has said that it is disappointing that the referees have gone public with this and not discussed it in private, but refuses toi condemn (or even mention) Celtic (players, manager and Chairman) for making the most public of statements on many occasions. There is a refusal by the guys with the positions of responsibility in Scottish football to address who has caused this problem and they should all be shown the door now for failing so badly in their jobs and the organisations should look to recruit people who can actually get things done and are not too scared to address the cancer that is poisioning Scottish football.
  21. I doubt that we have any money available.
  22. Yeah, I've just noticed some posts disappearing.
  23. Avoiding tax - you try and minimise the tax that you pay legally. For example you could avoid paying uk tax on earnings by not being in the country for more than 90 days. Evading tax - something that is illegal. For example, when completing your tax return a self-employed joiner could only detail 25% of what he has earned during the year. Avoiding is legal, evading is illegal.
  24. celtic seem to think that they have the right to dictate what referees are allowed to operate in Scotland and what to know personal information about them as well. When abusive and bullying behaviour by your manager leads to a small, immaterial white lie that was very quickly corrected it appears that the abusive and bullying behaviour can be totally overlooked. Celtic also don't seem to appear to be raising the biggest crime on that day...that an official deliberately withheld information that he knew that a penalty had been incorrectly given to celtic.
  25. Of course Murray rushs to let Johnston and Bain know MIH business before anything has been been agreed. Meanwhile in the real business world....
