But that's the nature of part of his business....buying companies that are cheap and asset stripping and then letting them go under, isn't it? Doesn't mean that he'd be bad for the club, as Z says.

Stairway 13 disaster remembered 22nd December 2010 by Willie Vass

I think that they will be there until the screens are fixed/replaced. My information is that the replacing of the screens has been authorised but I'm not sure about the timing. -

Surely the memorial plaque could be cleaned up? I would also have liked to have seen Whittaker looking a bit smarter. If we are using a player to appear in the photos then he should be dressed accordingly. While the banners over the screens look OK, their presence does nothing other than remind me that we can't afford to get them fixed and are as much a testament to certain people's financial mismanagement as they are to the extremely worthy subject matters on the banners themselves. -
Because Naismith wasn't offered a new contract ata lower rate?
-
He's only being playing well to get a new contract. Expect him now to go back to the form of previous seasons. :fish:
-
Final score 1-1. Just a shame that Killie couldn't hold onto their lead with ra cellic equalising on 84 mins.
-
Not true. The bank only extended the loan/overdraft facility if Rangers accepted the well-publicised restrictive business plan. The business plan seems to be a moving target though, with AJ changing his tune on it every time he speaks.

I would presume that Lloyds are looking at everything long term and making assumptions as to poor performance in Europe over the next 3-4 years, and any excess cash may be allocated against future shortfalls that haven't been able to be met as yet. Looking at last season's profit of £4m, and taking account of further savings this season, but knocking off over £10m of CL income and our accounts still don't look too clever, and that's the situation we could be in for the next 3 years. I don't know if this is correct, but it seems a likely scenario.

That's the frustrating thing. Who is misleading the fans more? There will be elements of truth in both views but they are giving different impressions. The fans are not being told the full story. It seems that the only way we get more than the minimum information is to organise protests and get banners into the stadium.
-
I'd give up my season ticket if they introduced this nonsense as most of the games played would be meaningless. It wouldn't matter if we won or lost any game as only the play-offs would matter. Bring in more cash? Bring in less, more likely.

The old style league cup was crap. Fans wouldn't be interested in it at the early stages.
-
I fail to see why bringing more sub-standard teams into the league is going to improve things. Playing each other only twice will reduce the number of "good" games, making the product less appealing, resulting in smaller crowds and lower income, particularly from TV companies who would be less interested, and lower income due to less games. Most of the countries you mention have at leats twice the population of Scotland so are in a better position to support bigger leagues. A 16 team league could be disasterous.

McLeish backs supporters representation on SFA Council
Bluedell replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
The fact that Supporters Direct still allow the IRA supporting Celtic Trust takes away some of its credibility. Hopefully the RST will have nothing to do with any council that involves Jeanette Findlay and her mob. -
I have thought about it further and decided that my preference is 12. On question 2, although my preference is 12, i would not be opposed to a reduction of 10, but I'm also not for it, so neither of the answers of the answers suit. Also, while I think there should be a greater say for fans, who decides what fans it should be? There has to be some fan-wide consultation for it to occur.
-
Looks like an interesting survey. I can't decide whether I think 10 or 12 is a better option so haven't taken part yet.
-
Very childish. :colbert: Voted.
-
I fail to see why having 2 extra games against, say, Hamilton, St Johnstone and St Mirren, and 2 less games against, say Falkirk and Killie makes the league more boring.
-
I don't have a problem with refs admitting errors after games. It's better than standing by obviously incorrect decisions (aklthough i don;t think that this necessarily falls into that category.) You have to wonder how many times refs apologise to Walter for errors. I guess we'll never find out as Walter probably would not go public with private conversations, unlike other managers.
-
I'd disagree. I don't think that it has to be accompanied by a profanity (TBB doesn't contain any). Neil Lennon is a fen!ian/fen!an bastard, and I'd get charged for for religious BOTP (or whatever the relevant charge is) for saying both, even though I am not making any intention of referring to his religion. (I have no idea or interest of his current religious beliefs). However someone else could call him the same and be referring his his religion. The current situation in Scotland would not allow any other interpretation other than it is referring to his religion.
-
When you have Rangers supporters calling Spanish or Italians fen!ans as has happened in the past then it becomes difficult to say that they are referring to that player's views on Irish republicianism, and not the fact that they are RC.
-
Fen!an is used by many as a derogatory term for RC, as well as its other meanings. It suits certain people to assume that it is used that way on an exclusive basis, hence the problems with singing TBB. It's similar to the so-called Famine song. It is claimed that it is aimed at Irish people and is therefore racist. It's not, and is taking the piss out of plastic paddies singing TFOA, even though they are Scottish. It doesn't help when someone like Donald Fiindlay failed to grasp this most basic of points and failed in his pathetic attempt to overturn the decision to find someone guilty of singing it.
-
Yes .
-
Interestingly enough, Joyce Hunnum, who replied on behalf of the Scottish Exec appears to have signed a "Kick out bigotry" pledge as a celtic fan.
-
No mention of RC schools. So much for facing up to the "elephant in the room". While the RC Church insists on separating their children from children of other faiths at the age of 5, the differences will continue to be emphasised and the conditions that promote sectarianism will continue to flourish.
