Corrected that for you.

Whereas you're more of a Yul Brynner type?

There will not be anything in the minutes as it was not discussed, presumably because Alan Harris was prevented from raising it, at what could be considered to be the appropriate time.

There are 2 issues. 1. £80K of cash waiting to be invested into the club. 2. £40K+ of shares issued. They are in the RST's name at the moment and held in trust for the Gersave members. A request to the RST would result in them be transferred to the member directly. They would not be sold without the member's authorisation. Their use in vots is currently irrelevant given Murray holding over 90% of the shares.

Me too unfortunately.

Don't think that there's any later flights to Berlin that day.

I've got a flight at 1.55pm that day. Doubt I'll be able to make the AGM.

I can't blame TB for being unclear as to what was happening given the speed that the re-elections went through and the whole process was unsatisfactory. 1. The 8 names were read out extremely quickly and I doubt anyone on the audience could repeat who was up for election/re-election. 2. There was no explanation of who the new board member was, as I pointed out at the time. 3. I believe that not giving the meeting the chance to vote on people individually is incorrect, despite the fact that the meeting voted to allow it. 4. The meeting was asked to vote if it was OK to allow the vote to cover all 8 people. This was passed. The voting then stopped at that point. My interpretation was that the vote was in respect of the method of voting only and there was never a vote actually electing/re-electing the people concerned, or did I miss something? How did the chairman of the meeting know that the statement was not in relation to the reports of the Secretary and Treasurer? Was he told that he could speak later? I didn't catch that, although it was difficult to hear everything that the chairman was saying at that point.

I see Murray was at tonight's game. The first game he has attended since buying the club where he has not been Chairman, if I'm not mistaken. A sign that he is planning to return?
-
I'd agree with that. I'm sure a lot of constructive advice could be given to improve the document even further.

I don't use facebook so it's difficult to comment, but I can't see why it would be an issue. One problem was the banning of members, but it's not a reason not to have it, in my opinion. They must have close to £80K of funds for Gersave and they should be approaching the club asap to get it invested. Although they had an excuse not to push it too much over the past year or so, with the ownership situation in flux, I get the feeling that nothing much would have been done anyway had that not been the situation. Perhaps there was a missed opportunity.
-
TB and I were unsure what the situation was during the meeting as we couldn't make out what was said. I clarified the situation with the Vice-Chairman after the meeting who confirmed that he has not yet resigned.

Following on from Tannochside's notes, I'd add the following: I counted 33 in attendance (including 11 board members), but I could have been wong. There was a loss of £10K partly due to a loss on functions of £4k (Gerspride, the dinner etc) and some expenditure (professional fees) relating to report produced for the well publicised "high net worth" "investor". The RST have never been officially told the name of this person. The plan was to underwrite a supporter purchase of the club, but he was not going to invest cash himself if it was successful. His plan was to be cash neutral. Membership increased slightly by 120 to 1,392. Presumably the reason for the fall in membership subs is due to a higher number of people becoming life members last year. They are going to put in controls to ensure that future expenditure is tightly controlled. The current chairman, Stephen Smith has not yet stood down, but is looking to in the near future. One new person was appointed to the Board - Ian Devine, who helps run the Kenmuir RSC. The former secretary, Alan Harris, asked to make a statement as to why he resigned, during the secretary and treasurer's reports section but was not allowed. It seemed as if it was something to do with the accounts. He then left shortly afterwards, which was unfortunate as he should have had the opportunity to make his statement later in the meeting. Criticism can be leveled at both sides for this. I don't see why he could not have been allowed to have made his statement when he asked to, but also he should have stayed to make it later. The treasurer stood down due to there being an accountant on the board who would take over from her. Other points raised were: RST's own forum - it was suggested by a board member that facebook was a better option. Gersave - the RST are to readdress this now that the ownershuip issue has settled down Time of meeting - Sunday morning clashed with church services. More regular meetings - this will be looked into.

Will do a report when I have 10 minutes to spare. May be tomorrow though.

Welcome, mate. I remember being in Bochum for our game against CSKA in the 92/93 season.

Have you seen the team featured on page 12? You obviously told them MF had written it, hence the article aimed at him on page 7.
