  1. "but I`ll have my work cut out getting Walter to play an adventurous 4-4-2".
  2. Some members of the RST board have reacted on FF due to Boss's criticism of them as an organisation.
  3. And then they end up being investigated and warned by the police? :fish:
  4. Bollocks. So you are saying that the players should be allowed to do what they want in terms of gestures, if they receive any abuse?
  5. Difficult to argue with anything Gough says. Walter should take it on board.
  6. Sorry, but as you know, it's what I'm most familiar with. If someone like Duffy had a company registered in Bermuda, then it's my understanding that it wouldn't need accounts, given that it would likely fall under such a category.
  7. I stand by my previous post. The players get paid (very well) to go onto the park and perform. The players should be able to take abuse (up to a point). They should not have the freedom to be abusive to fans just because they have received some abuse. We'd have players at it all the time. The fans pay good money and should be able to abuse opposition players. It's what we do. However that doesn't mean the players are allowed to react.
  8. It can make a huge difference. It can be very difficult/impossible to get the full picture. It's relatively easy for companies to hide some of their wealth in places like Bermuda, where there is no requirement to produce or file accounts.
  9. Yeah. However saying that it doesn't necessarily mean that he should be ruled out. Credit checks like MF has carried out don't necessarily give the full picture. There could be some massive backing offshore that the credit check companies don't see. However it certainly is indicitive of problems and questions would need to be answered (and some annual return forms completed) before he should be allowed to take this much further. The standing area comments do suggest that he hasn't looked at the whole thing that seriously though and that is as concerning.
  10. You have to presume that much of his wealth is now off-shore or in the States, but it's not particularly reassuring that there are a lot of administrative issues with his UK companies as highlighted by Boss, and you are finding similar things when doing a credit check.
  11. Spanner, if you have issues with other sites' articles then please take them up with them there, and don't post links to them here. Copy and paste them if relevant, but the FF article is just one guy's view that isn't newsworthy in itself.
  12. Thanks, Boss. Interesting and concerning that he seems to pay no attention to the requirements of running a company, dormant or not.
  13. So players should be allowed to taunt the supporters in any way they see fit? These guys are PAID professionals. the support are not so I don't believe that the same rules should apply. Part of what they are paid for is how they react when under pressure from opposition players and support. Lennon and Boruc were quite rightly warned for their conduct as I'd hate it if they got away with it (although in Boruc's case it was insufficient but that's a different topic). I guess I can't complain if the same rules are applied to Novo.
  14. 'the team that drinks together, wins together' If the stories are true then it's only the part of the team that can afford it. That defeats the purpose and creates a "them and us" and doesn't do a huge amount for team bonding.
  15. He was made bankrupt in 2000. http://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/opinions/NIM2103.html This seems to be the main skeleton but many successful businessmen have been bankrupt in the past, as I'm sure you know, but perhaps because it's relatively recent people may be a bit nervous?
  16. Update from Barrybaldy. Make of it what you will. Hi guys As I said yesterday, just trying to help with info as some people seem to be getting confused about what this plan is - which is understandable given the amount of stuff swirling around. 1) Duffy has broken cover others are staying quiet at this moment in time. he is PART of a consortium, I am told another two or three big hitters in talks with him and he is the one put up first to talk. 2) They are ALL putting in the same amount to underwrite the debt, and hope to get it for around £25m from the bank. 3) First stage is to get the club out of the banks hands. Second to see the season out - then rebuild begins, new manager, board etc.. Third to implement fans members club and then all other plans from there. 4) Duffy will not be running club, but will be on new board with the others. 5) They will NOT be making any money. There is no McCann deal here when they buy shares, sell them and get out down the line. 6) Essentially, they will strike a deal with the bank that say ' we will guarantee the debt - now give us the club to run' So they don't put money in initially, but would have to if, say six months down the line the bank call it in. Quite clever move in that, if the fans cash rolls in, the debt will come down naturally in a new business plan - but they still have their own reddies in hand to buy into being part of the 45,000. If they fans numbers don't stack up, they can offset. That's what I am hearing. Told that Duffy has money, most of it from property in the Carribbean, and a lot has changed in his business in nine years since the stuff you are reading. My guess is he is a FRONT just now until the rest get ready to unite - there will be another two defo, and poss a third, and they have money. It's all a game, a dance with the bank right now - Murray was apparantly scrambling yday, trying to find out about Duffy, who the rest are as he is raging now he's out the equation and a deal can be done with the bank direct. Forget this guff about his shares, etcc. The bank have taken Rangers - they can force him to sell the club to whoever they want. Finally, Dave King has made no moves at all.
  17. LOL. That's the best you could come back with?
  18. I'm glad that you finally agree with me.
  19. "we did not have the credit arrangement in place when I took over the assignment" Are you calling the Chairman a liar?
  20. It's a barrybaldy post from FF.
  21. I'd prefer that they're silent at the moment. I'm not really interested in them telling us what they are going to do. Let's hear from them when they have actually got something together that we can actually review. The silence is much more professional.
  22. I didn't get that feeling. Spin is the word that springs to mind.
  23. I understand that is incorrect. I guess Murray is playing games and trying to say that the enquiries that he has had have not been serious and therefore dismissing them, but there have been enquiries and at least one offer. Is Murray confirming he hasn't been living in the real world? Perhaps these clubs do not have their employees (plural) coming out and saying that the bank are running the club. Perhaps these clubs don't have their chairman resigning because the club have run into a bit of financial difficulty. Perhaps these clubs have been able to buy someone in the past 12 months. Is Murray saying that he took heed of Lord Nelson's article in the STS report which was submitted in June? If Muir was approached in June, why was he only appointed in October, when most of the financial decisions for the year were already made? In what ways would these be? Why don't they appear in the accounts? Perhaps because they don't exist?
  24. How do you know nobody has defaulted on anything? Where's your proof, as so often like to ask? How has MIH been able to meet their £400m loan repayments in the current year? Rangers did not have a bank facility as confrimed by our Chairman so therefore we were not trading within our remit, so explain to me why the bank can't say "appoint Donald Muir or we will not renew your facility".
