WALTER SMITH hints that Boyd could start against Stuttgart
Bluedell replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Boyd was pish when he last played upfront himself. He's certainly improved over the last few weeks, with Saturday being the best he has played all season, but I still can't see him working a top European defence if he's playing on his own. Hopefully if he is playing then it will be as part of a front 2, but that then gives problems for our midfield. -
Have you got them all yet? I can give you 1986 as well if you want.

1-1 draw. (Davis) Although Stuttgart have poor league form, they are no mugs and are probably a better team than Unirea who we have failed to beat twice, so I don't see why we should win tonight. I also think the 4-4-2 formation will mean that we struggle in midfield.
-
Perhaps Walter authorised him to make the statement? I believe he said this at a press conference? Surely the question would have been expected and he would have been prepped as to what he should say? If not, then the club are as much to blame as Miller.

It's wonderful what the search facility on Gersnet throws up. -

Must be that world famous player Ally Robertson? -
So what was RC's lead-in story tonight? what did Bitter Martin think was the most important story of today (Monday)? Was it Celtic's loss to Dundee utd and Mowbray's laughable comments? Was it Rangers CL game tomorrow night and Walter's selection dilemma? was it perhaps the vacant Scotland job? Or was it something more off-the-wall like the Scotland rugby team's great victory over the Aussies? No. Of course not. It was the bloody Ireland France game AGAIN. No agenda there, Peter. They then moved onto the first call, which was a Celtic fan calling for Mowbray to go now. Bitter discussed this briefly with DJ and both agreed it was far too soon, and dismissed this (obviously off-message) idea as having "not much support then." A shame that he didn't listen to Real Radio as the first 3 callers were also calling for Mowbray to go now. Loving their pain at the moment. :spl:

I think TheEA's advice is good. If it happens again, take a note of the steward involved and write to the club complaining. Speaking to his supervisor and getting the supervisor's name or number is also a good idea. Bloody jobsworths.

Here is page 2 of the report. The "Rangers and Scotland" and "Relationships with the media" sections are how it should be done. Chairmans report 2.pdf

I attach page one of David Holmes' Chairman's Report from 1988. This should be required reading for any Chairman of the club as it ecapulates a lot of we as a club are about. The "Playing for Rangers and what it means" makes great reading and should be taken on board by a few of our current players. Apologies for the poor quality Chairmans report 1.pdf

The number of dinners in Glasgow for ex-Rangers players is suddenly going to go through the roof. -
I look them up and down and think "What a state. Don't you have anything else to change into?" Perhaps they take this as a nod?

If you want to last here you should stop trying to be at the wind-up all the time.

Don't believe it means anything. We have been listed as being in a "bid situation" and listed by the takeover panel. I'd imagine that while this position remains that staff of the company are barred from making any informal statements, and this is just telling them of that.

Trading Standards involved in United ticket charge row

Excellent stuff, TB. Good luck to all involved in this. -
Too busy posting on Gersnet, eh Walter?

I also can't understand the ban issue. Deliberate handball is a yellow card unless it is to prevent a goal scoring opportunity when it would be a red is my understanding of the rules. Therefore he should get a yellow card but as they can't be awarded retrospectively he remains unpunished. The rules seem reasonable to me, and we can't start changing them just because of when an incident happened. I definitely don't believe he deserves a ban.

Celtic's opponents would be calling for the game to be replayed every second week.
-
I kind of understand what you are saying, but surely all cheating is the same? Did Celtic not score a goal after a handball by Caldwell last season? That actually took place in Scotland but was largely ignored by the press (quelle surprise). Any cheating affects the outcome of a game no matter whenever it happens, or how important a game is. As I said earlier, that fact that the draw was fiddled is a far bigger issue of cheating that Henry's but is not making the same headlines.
-
Very cutting.
-
I fail to see why what Henry did was any different from the numerous deliberate fouls that are committed by players during a game and why his career should be tarnished because of it.

The Association are there to represent the supporters clubs that are members. I believe that their membership has fallen over the years, but with John MacMillan in charge, they still have a voice, although it's usually more concerned with ticketing issues etc. The Association have 2 representatives on the RST board so it's more likely for them to work with the Trust. The Assembly's objectives are: Improve Communication/Consultation between Rangers Fans and Rangers Football Club. Represent the views of Rangers Fans to Rangers Football Club in matters of policy, services and any other pertinent matter Create a stronger association between Rangers Fans and Rangers Football Club Reduce fragmented discussions. Help to grow the Rangers fanbase worldwide. Help to ensure the long term growth of Rangers Football Club.- 49 replies

It's great that they taken it on board anyway and publicising it to a wider audience. Perhaps the Assembly are realising it's not on their remit or it gives them problems given that they get their fuunding from the club's board of directors.?- 49 replies
