The Puma rumours have been pushed because they have a huge tie-in with Sports Direct who we also have a tie-in with, so its a logical move to team up in this way. However I am also in the adidas camp for greater worldwide brand development/awareness/availability. Time will tell I suppose.

The case against Rangers based on the tax tribunal documents
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree with Gunslinger here. How can you take a losing argument in a court action and offering it as fact elsewhere? The fact the FTT threw out HMRC's argument means you cannot rely on any of their evidence in balance of evidence as being proven. HMRC made a lot of mainly unsubstantiated allegations that the FTT threw out. How can the SPL ignore this ruling and cherry pick the bits of the losing argument that it wants to believe? Boing boing boing, kangaroo court resumes 29/01/13. -
James Traynor - The £500k question: Why did Hearts KO Ranger?
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Thats an excellant piece by Traynor. Not his biggest fan but he is spot on with this, as he has been with most of the Rangers stories the last few months. -
And we can probably also safely assume that the "offical" will be around 40K

RST got this one bang on the money regarding McKenzie's involvement and the SPL's denial of this being his mission to crucify us based on purely selfish bigoted reasons, and being egged on and encouraged by the only business who gain anything out of this very expensive kangaroo court but dont have to pop their head up above the parapet at all. I hope they send a follow-up letter next week when their original letter is ignored, and dont just let it lie as a good soundbite. I am confident they will and look forward to reading what excuse the SPL are going to give for this one.

If I was asked a year ago I wouldnt want any football club to go to the wall, far less a major Scottish football club. The events since February has proven to us that not all football fans share the same ethos of brotherhood. They openly rejoiced and queued up to jump on us. They went on phone lines, forums et all to say how great it was that we were in big trouble. There was no sympathetic murmourings from anywhere in Scotland. In turn, that has hardened my own resolve that I should not be troubled when news such as what is happening to Hearts enevitably comes out regarding the clubs that were so keen to have a good kick at us last summer. They can always do as we done and regroup, reform, and rejoin the SFL. I would wish them good luck in that regard only. As for how the authorities will be treating them, I was positive that should this exact scenairo appear that the SFA/SPL would be sympathetic and helpful, not arrogant and chastising. I will be looking on with interest as to how this plays out.

I was not aware he had been injured and is off work but I would pretty much guarantee that he wont be replaced as it is his baby so to speak. This is most certainly not the case where one lawyer is as good as another, McKenzie has been working on case for a long time and wont want to give it up now it is getting closer. Incidentally I cant find anything on google about a fatal traffic accident involving this horrible man. Anyone know more about it? EDITED - BY Frankie

Your on the wrong forum for a post like this. And the fact that it is total and utter nonsense. Barca, the best team ever?? Not even Spanish Champions or CL winners/finalists, so not even close there. They didnt have a go at the barca bottlers last night, they parked the bus totally and completely and looked to hit on the counter. Some shocking defending gifted them their goals which were both completely against the run of play, aded to the fact that barca played the whole game slower than a lee mcculloch run. it was dire to watch as a spectacle and would get football stopped. You talk about our management being the problem for our poor home CL record, and worry about McCoist being in charge, despite the fact he has not managed us in the CL groups. Total nonsense. You talk about Lennon setting his team up to have a go yet they hardly crossed the halfway line last night, nor in the game against Benfica at the Glitterdome. Total nonsense again. I am concerned with this rush to praise the scum for their very lucky win against a desperately poor side on the night who couldnt get through a wall of players bunched up against their own 18 yard box for 90% of the game. It was a defence v attack training session which if replicated throughout the CL would soon see broadcasters pulling out of their lucrative tv deals. Nobody wants to watch the type of football the scum are playing in the CL, and it is even more galling to real football fans that it has been successful for them. There was not quite the rush to praise only 5 years ago as we did a very similar thing to the scum, and ended up in a European final. You win nothing but 3 points for last night, and you assess success or failure at the end of the competition, not halfway through.

Looks more like a t-shirt than a football shirt, and £40 for a football t-shirt is about £25 too much. I'm sure it is directed mainly at the female market, and it may go down well with them, but I cant see it being a big seller either way. I am hoping this is not a taste of things to come from our new marketing people!!

Thats a nice well-thought out gift from Forres there and it is great to see our journey is creating so many positive feel good stories that will last long after we are gone. I love going through the trophy room looking at all the different bits of memorabilia we have been given by teams we meet, but the restricted space there means you dont get all the story. Imagine a full-size museum that could give the space to these items to tell the stories about them to all who visit. It really would be a full day out to go through everything we have in our possession through our history.

I agree entirely and that is what has already happened. It seemed to get through as there were none at Stirling, but as we didnt score (this is when they nromally go off) we will have to wait and see at Clyde later this month. It is to be hoped that we see no more of them.

The Working Group is made up of reps from the fans groups, supporters clubs and forums (including one from Gersnet). It is up to these reps to spread the word amongst their members, together with each statement being released to a contact list of around 200 RSC's and Groups/Forums, and being posted on the online forums.

As BD says, FoCUS is the arm of the Police set up to deal with the anti-sectarian law that came into being in March this year. Other clubs have had meetings with FoCUS officers, and the Rangers Fans Working Group has been having meetings with FoCUS for around a year now. The mainstream media is not all that interested in the work of FoCUS because the stats show Rangers to be amongst the best behaved supporters in the country, and FoCUS were on record as saying we were the most improved support of 2011-12.

For starters, a museum is something I have really wanted for our club for many years now, and have said so on many many occassions. I dont think a petition is the right way forward however, although I accept the explanation given by Frankie in post 5 of this thread. A petition is by its very nature a political campaigning device, which is not the way to go about it in my opinion. The current board have been very receptive and open with the fans to date, so I see no reason why there is the need for a petition on this, or any other subject, at this time. Rangers fans opinion on this matter has always run very highly in favour of a museum in any poll or online discussion I have ever seen on the subject, so again I fail to see the need for this, other than as a PR stunt by TRS, which I am sure was not the intention. For the many good articles and work TRS has done to date, this isn't up there i'm afraid. A rethink is required in my opinion.

But the rest of the world can somehow drink responsibly and not have it blamed for all of society's ills. In Scotland however we are still paying the price for the 1980 cup final riot, 32 years later, and we will be for a long time still to come.

I dont know where you are getting your statistic of 5,000 ST holders in the Assembly out of 36,000 ST holders, can you provide any evidence of this?

Rangers, the young players and Motherwell....
Tannochsidebear replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
I have been waiting with much intrigue for the bookies to release their odds for our match with Motherwell. Well are clearly the 2nd best team in the SPL, while we are rebuilding in div 3. Ladbrokes have well as slight favourites (11/8) against our (6/4), but the other big 2 have us as favourites for the match. Obviously we have home advantage but this gives an insight as to how the professional money men see the game. -
Gers Set For SPL Side - Motherwell at Ibrox
Tannochsidebear replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
Regarding pricing, there are prices set as a proposed price for each division. you are not allowed to go below that price for a cup-tie without the consent of the away side. If they refuse, you must charge your normal home price. -
Our attendance today will be the bigget in Scotland for sure, and that is giving the scum credit for their "official" attendance, which from the pictures from tv yesterday when going to the game is a lie as the top tier was much less than half full, meaning it is impossible to get 46K in the ground. Anyway, forget them, out of the 10 games in the EPL this weekend only the Newcastle game this afternoon has any chance of matching/beating our attendance. And across europe the story is the same. Only 2 games in Germany beat it, none in France, none in Holland to name a few. So the next time any passing scumbag journalist tells you Rangers are now a small club, ask them to name a club with more paying punters this weekend.

It was stated by the SFL last week that the final would be at Hampden IF Rangers made it. If not another venue would be chosen once the finalists are known. Oh, and Gers4Life, your £13 will be for Falkirk next Thursday in the league cup.
-
With the greatest of respect to NI U-21's, I will be seriously pissed off if we have a blank weekend because of those fringe players getting called up and our club loses out on a lot of dough from a weekend match and forced to play it midweek. I had forgotten about Shiels, as I was only looking at the squad from last night, and of course he may not be fit to be included by then anyway.
-
We should try to get this game played on the original date of sun 9th September, IMO. Reward the fans with weekend matches. Is the rule not 3 call ups to get a game cancelled. I can only think of Little that will be involved, given Levein saying he won't pick Scots unless an emergency, Boca prob away by then. Who am I missing?

A real banana skin as we seen last year, and Falkirk was always a hard place to go when we met up in the SPL as well. We must get the attitude right from the very start and dictate the game. Last year we allowed the pace and tempo to be played in their favour and we paid a heavy price for it. We have no divine right to win anything, we must earn every victory, and tonight I really want to see a huge effort from the players to ensure our progression in the diddyest of the diddy cups that while previously would have been seen as unimportant and meaningless, will mean a lot to us this season if we win it.

That's a great article, and Elliott must apologise.

Season Ticket sales going very well today
Tannochsidebear replied to CumbernauldGers's topic in Rangers Chat
The demand is great news, and hopefully the club can get on top of this very quickly.
