  1. An end of season dinner should be near the end of the season IMO. I voted Stranraer game. However that is likely to be last home game of season and therefore trophy presentation day and probably moved for TV. Last home game of the season might clash with a lot of other end of season bashes, so in hindsight might not be best option for some of us.
  2. Quite like this idea, and would happily come along if the date/time allows. I know a few from here, but it is always nice to meet other Bears over a small refreshment or two.
  3. I would be more worried if he was selected to play for us in the final, as stuck out on the wing doesnt seem to be suiting him much so far. Of course it could be that he just needs a year to settle in to a very different culture and lifestyle than he will have been used to, and it may be next season before we see what he is capable of.
  4. Good words from the big man. You could say that if someone like him can see how bloody obvious it is, why cant a lot of our fans?
  5. Where's the Easdales in that voting line-up?
  6. Spot on. I dont know how any constitution would have prevented Murray from doing what he done during his asset-stripping years. I also agree with Bluedell's warning that it may sometimes be in our interests to be able to move the Stadium out of the trading company to safeguard it.
  7. Its not showing up on my screen!
  8. I thought the protests during the match at 18 minutes (didnt even notice the 72nd minute one) were really poor. From the Copland Rear I couldn't make out what they were shouting or what was on their A4 bits of paper. The banners at the start as well were not legible. I would be surprised if anyone further than the closest section of the West Enclosure would have been able to read it. It was by far the poorest to date. I support the notion of getting Stockbridge and Irvine out of our club 100%, but this campaign is simply not (for reasons I dont know) working for the majority of match-going fans. I have for a few years now believed that if the team is winning on the park, the majority of our fans couldnt care less if we were run by Neil Lennon and the Pope.
  9. Can anyone post a link or copy/paste this constitution thingy please. Cant seem to find it anywhere!
  10. Ally can't win whichever side he votes with, unless he knows for 100% certain which way the vote will go. If I was him I would abstain. He has to work with whoever wins, and if he gets it wrong it would be his last act as Rangers manager. It would be far easier for him to say he is not getting involved in the voting process of the AGM but looks forward to it finally putting all the uncertainty to bed and looks forward to working with whoever is in control after the AGM business has concluded.
  11. Thats a pity, Gerspride has always been a really good event. Hopefully I can make the re-arranged date and they can keep the original speakers as it sounded a good line-up.
  12. I understand all 4 of the proposed new Directors from the McCollco group will be in attendance.
  13. Thanks for the reminder. Prediction posted. On bus to game just now and hopeful of another victory.
  14. Ferguson's tribute is top class. I absolutely hated Ricksen as a player. He was a terrbile defender, a poor tackler, couldnt head or pass accurately, and would often get himself needlessly booked or worse, and for the money he was on throughout his time here I just couldnt go him at all. But from the human being side of it to have this truly awful disease at such a young age is mind-numbingly horrific, and my heart goes out to him and his family. Would I go to a benefit match for Ricksen? No chance, he earned over a million a year at Ibrox for 5 years and had some decent form for about 6 months of that when Ferguson baby-sat him in midfield, but I would make a donation to a Scottish MND charity of the price of a ticket as a mark of respect to the man who tried his best for our club for a few years, and out of sympathy to his plight against a horrible disease.
  15. voted, a great cause. good luck and hope they win.
  16. Did anyone else get the feeling that the minutes were going to be a bit of a nothing to report here kind of thing as soon as they seen that there was pictures taken at the start of the meeting and blasted all over the papers this morning. I must admit I was very disappointed that photos and a big blowy story about the meeting were in todays rags ahead of anything concrete to tell the punters. It stinked of a big PR stunt from McColl/Murray. Hopefully they told the guys a lot more detail of their plans than what they were allowed to report and that the news will get out at the right time, as this was a great opportunity to get the fans onboard from their perspective and one I hope they didnt blow, as while I dont rate Paul Murray at all, they are by far the more preferable option than the current board/owners.
  17. Of the players I have seen at Ibrox, I would definately have Numan as world class. He was most definately in the top 2 (with Roberto Carlos) left backs in the world at the time we signed him, and I'm sure made the '98 World team of the year, or World Cup best X1 or similar. Add in Laudrup, both De Boer's, Gazza, Butcher, Gough, Goram all could have played in any club side in the world and added something to them, although FDB was past his best by the time we saw him. It was scary how well he read the game and I recall thinking how good he must have been to watch every week in his prime, a truly world class player.
  18. These ridiculous court hearings tell me two things; 1. The current board will do anything and everything to cling to the gravy train of power for as long as they can. 2. Those seeking power were not confident enough to get a vote through at the EGM that they withdrew the EGM request, and are trying everything they can apart from buying the actual shares from those in power to get power. Neither side come out of this very well, but it should be another nail in the coffin of the current board, who most fans are seeing as more and more corrupt by the passing week. What this will do, and I am quite sure this was a fairly deliberate part of the tactic from the Requisitioners, is give the fans more games to show their dissent at the current regime. There are 4 home games in 14 days between 2-16 November and I am certain this will see an intensification of the "Board Out" movement. In the meantime we the supporters will continue to be led a merry dance in the media with spin and counter-spin over the next few weeks before we get anywhere near a resolution to our turmoil, and any peace to concentrate on our football.
  19. That actually explains a few things from last season. When we struggled away from home on some astroturf pitches, McCoist was criticised for claiming that he didn't like his players training on it at Auchenhowie as there was a much higher risk of injuries. The article from the club seems to show that he was right in this regard, but only because we had allowed the original astroturf pitch to be retained instead of replaced when it's condition deteriorated. Hopefully all our sides can now benefit from indoor training and playing on it for many years to come.
  20. Forgive my ignorance, but can someone refresh my mind as to the content of Res 9 & 10 please.
  21. And of course you have to take into consideration that this is another story by the current board leaked to the Daily Rhebel no doubt through Toxic Jack. There is no proof of any deal with King for his return in the current set-up, and indeed everything I have heard in recent weeks goes totally against this kind of deal being achieved as King wants them all out and the Murrays in from what I'm told. I take this story with a massive pinch of salt and although it is not impossible to be true, the facts as we knew them up until Mather went to Joburg are at total odds with the Rhebel article. Also disappointed with Ally for giving quotes to their story directly to a paper that hates us, but actually some of the sentences he is quoted as saying I really doubt he said, and sound more like PR spin from Irvine as Ally has not really been too complimentary about the current board in recent weeks and has remained firmly on the fence, so for him to say what is quoted as saying is either the first time he has come out and backed the current board since the "Spivs out" campaign started, or he has been "misquoted", which again would not be anything new from Irvine and the Rhebel. This story also flies in the face of this morning's LSE announcement that Harte has left the board. If Mather had done a deal to save the current board by bringing in King as chair, there would have been no need for Harte to jump ship before the AGM. The fact Harte has jumped now indicates to me exactly the opposite from the Rhebel story, and that actually Mather's last gasp attempt to keep power by bringing in King as chair has failed and that therefore the current board are not too confident of their chances of success at the AGM and Harte has decided to jump now rather than wait to be sacked in a couple of weeks time.
  22. Financially, nothing much has changed in the RFFF for months. The RFFF met with Mather and Stockbridge last week, and with McColl and Murray the next day. Both camps were grilled on their actions and plans. I'm not involved so can't say much more as I only heard snippets of what was discussed. It seems they are the only fans group meeting with the club regularly these days. These meetings were partly reported by the RST as they had a rep there who is also on the RFFF.
  23. For Internationalists, we have Wallace, McLeod, Aird (U19's), Shiels, Little, Peralta who were all away on duty at the last break. You could add in one or two more of the younger ones if the U19's are playing as McKay I think has been picked before at that level. It only takes 3 for the game to be off, so I can see no way we would have less than 3 away with their Country for the game to go ahead. Ally will want his strongest team available to him, plus also he will probably want to be away watching a game somewhere with a view to new players for either January or next season.
  24. I am still fully expecting this game against Dunfermline to be moved due to international call ups, just like a couple of weeks ago with the QotS tie. That there is another cup tie due for the same weekend means they will both need to find a slot in the calendar, as that weekend will be empty as far as Rangers matches are concerned. Sorry for guys arranging tickets/transport etc for this game but be warned if we have 3 players called up to ANY international squad, the game will be off.
  25. There is absolutely no proof he was abused by fans in the street. No witnesses, nada. You cannot take his word for it as he has been proven to be a liar on countless occasions, coupled with how convenient it was to have happened at a time he was under the cosh. You can guarantee that if he had small kids they would have also been present at this "attack". It is just as easy to say that this event did not occur at all and was made up to deflect the exact position you state above, in that he was on thin ice and had nowhere to go. Apart from the old victim card of course.
