That is one helluva line up for Rangers tv. I hope they have plenty of pre and post match chat with that line-up of legends plus the best Scottish football pundit in McCann plus Emma Dodds who is doing a very decent job as anchor.

Really has to be Kent again, he was the difference between the sides, although I was delighted with the performances of McGregor, Davis & Kamara, and 3 of our back 4 scored and we kept a clean sheet so they deserve praise also. Really good team performance again.

Can’t believe nobody got it right tonight! Wasn’t it obvious we would beat a very good Dutch team, unbeaten at home in over a year, by 4 to nil! -
Absolutely amazed at how professional a job we done tonight, I would have jumped at a win on penalties! They showed first half they are a good football team, but we were more clinical. A great decision by SG to play the experience of shagger for this one. He knows that he makes big saves at big moments (that was Gerrards actual quote pre-match) and the 2 saves tonight were top class. Kent has really upped his game this season, long may it continue, another superb performance tonight, ably assisted by Kamara & Davis in midfield and both centre backs were on top form also. Another really tough match next week against the diving cheating Turks (I assume they are still like that!) and we will need a similar performance to squeeze through.

Hibs 0 Rangers 2 fgs Morelos -
Any win will do me, but a convincing win, preferably to nil, will go a long way to boosting confidence for the season, tick off another of the difficult away games, and get the rhattlers a bit more anxious, which is always nice. With our key players rested in midweek, hopefully Kent, Davis, Balogun, Tav will all be fresh and raring to go. I expect to see us start with Morelos Roofe Kent and Hagi as we know Hibs will have a go at home and so they should as by all accounts they are flying just now. McLaughlin Tav Goldson Balogun Barasic Hagi Davis Kamara Roofe Morelos Kent If Balogun isn’t quite ready big Helander will step in comfortably, but I can’t see any other side starting other than the above.

A lot of really poor defending so far in this new English season, which makes for an entertaining watch. Having seen both of Leeds games they are lovely to watch and if they can stop giving away stupid goals/penalties they should do fine. Arsenal have a lot going forward but still look weak defensively (I see the rhebel rhat was missing through injury again!) Man Utd the same as Arsenal, a lot of attacking intent but poor at the back. Neither side will be close to the top come May. Everton have played surprisingly well and could be this season’s overachievers. Looking forward to Chelsea v Liverpool tomorrow, hopefully still basking in the aftermath of a great victory for us at Hibs.

Any of our squad should be too good for our opponents, and any who prove not to be should be moved on forthwith. I would like to see some squad players get some game time, Stewart & Itten especially, and allow us to rest our key players for what is a huge test at Easter Road on Sunday. I want to see young Nathan play, Bassey on the other side, Edmundson at CB, and our midfield reinforced with those who havent had much of a chance yet. If you are not going to risk playing these guys in this game, taking into account our upcoming schedule, then they clearly are not trusted and shouldn't be retained taking up a wage.

Easiest choice of the season so far, Davis was head and shoulders above the rest in what was an excellent team performance (2nd half especially) with no failures in my book. Notable mentions for Kent & Hagi, with Kamara not far behind with his best performance in quite some time.

I took it to mean that Morelos would have been sent off whether if the ref had seen it or not, due to the hole in the guys leg and who the ref was.

Haven’t managed to comment on the game yet, so wanted to say I thought we were excellent in the second half on Saturday, and pretty decent on totally in control in first half. Some great well worked goals, much quicker passing and better off the ball movement made a huge difference to our tempo and creative ability. Davis was outstanding and is what we need in there and with Kamara replacing Jack early on he really took his chance to shine. Kent again looked more direct and scored again, Hagi’s pass for the opener was beautiful and Kent’s drop of the shoulder to create space and ensure the defender needed to buy a ticket to get back in was top class. There were no sub-par performances throughout the team on Saturday and it’s very rare for fans of any team to be able to say that. Of course we don’t get to congratulate ourselves for long, with the reasonably simple trip (surely!)to Gibraltar followed by our first real tough match (we don’t really count Dolly now do we?!) of the season at Easter Road, always a difficult venue and with Hibs flying right now it’s a very tasty matchup. Davis MOTM for me, at his best he is top quality and it showed. His problem has always been consistency so hopefully he can string a few of those performances together now, he was a joy to watch, and we must have Kamara and Jack given copies of that performance and told this is what we want from you, this is the standard. If either produces 90% of that in future matches I will be very happy and Rangers will win.

Seems a strange one, thought she came across well in her interviewing the manager and players. In this closed stadium era online content is more valuable to the fans and we are reducing numbers in this area? Would have preferred we didn’t blow a huge sum on a tunnel refurb that wasn’t required and keep loyal decent staff at the club.

Car Torched Outside Home Of Allan McGregor
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Some of you guys are completely missing the point here. Reverse the situation and say it was Lennon or Griffiths car torched. The papers, radio and BBC Scotland news online within hours would be screaming headlines of a sectarian attack, with narratives around like how they are always targeted without any evidence that this was anything to do with Rangers fans. There would be comments in Holyrood, debates surrounding how our country needs to be more inclusive, how everything is our fault. They don’t wait for weeks for a police investigation to conclude. They control the narrative, emphasise their victimhood, maximise our negative publicity. If it turns out it was a purely personal attack as a result of mixing with the wrong crowd etc, that would be buried on page 25 and get no nationwide discussion. The ship has sailed by then and the preferred narrative cemented in history to be wheeled out again next time something happens. While it is very honourable of my fellow bears to suggest waiting to see what transpires in the police investigation (no laughing at the back!), there is no parity in our media when it comes to these stories. -

I’m assuming the word “sectarian” doesn’t appear in any of the reports doing the rounds? Can you imagine if Lennon or (insert bheast of choice) has been the victim of such an attack? Never mind evidence or anything like that, the banner headlines would have this down as a sectarian attempted murder attack with columnists queueing up to say how the poor downtrodden ones are always the victims. -
That was my first thought too!

Can we play with a "backie"?

I will say it again, in the English Premiership the money is utterly ridiculous. Arsenal reportedly (I dont believe it either) paid £25M for Tierney of the bheasts, who cant get into his shitty International side, when tested at European level was on the wrong end of several hidings conceding goals aplenty, is completely injury-prone, and cant defend. Any bids coming in from an EPL club that dont beat the money paid for Tierney should be refused with the above explanation. Clubs there regularly pay £15-£20M for players with no top level experience, certainly no European experience, and with really poor goal returns stats. I'm not saying Kent is a fantastic player worth huge money ( I still think we definitely overpaid for him - still no assists in about a year now for a winger), but you have to understand the values and prices being paid in the league the bidding club is working in.

match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 2 (Roofe 50, Kent 77) - 0 Kilmarnock
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Too early to say. Need to let the lad get match sharp first (and stay fit) and get him used to our way of playing and the types of defences and lack of space he will find here. I remember absolutely slating Hateley for the first 6 months of his Rangers career as he was absolutely mince, but he turned out he just needed to get himself up to speed and used to the football here. He turned out all right! Roofe wont get 6 months to prove himself, but I'm happy to wait a few weeks to see how he settles in and what he brings to the team. We put our trust in the management to have done their research on who will fit into our team and acquire as required.
