Interesting info mate, I hope we are not going back to days of excess again, but more importantly I don’t mind spending a lot on the whole lot if we see players breaking into the first team and saving us a fee and a high wage on am import. In SG’s time there has been very little progress this area, and he has preferred a huge squad of bought players meaning no chances for youth.

I can’t watch the games with the canned crowd noise. It’s pathetic, as if they know the actual quality of football is so bad they have to try to generate an atmosphere to mask the over-rated product on view. Watching with just the comms and players noise is slightly better but I have found myself just muting it altogether and watching the action with no noise at all. You can follow the game for yourself just like watching it from the terrace, without the full pitch vision. Kind of like I end up doing in a Ian Crock of Shit/ Andy Wanker comms game anyway.

Season Ticket prices frozen and membership scheme launched
Tannochsidebear replied to MacK1950's topic in Rangers Chat
Absolutely astonishing number of donations to the club through both season tickets (for potentially no home games), and mygers memberships to get a chance to not get tickets to away games with no fans either. A fool and his money......... (I renewed a few days ago and of course bought a MyGers too!) -
Sounds like he was pushed out in the reshuffle, and given a decent package to agree the “pursue other avenues blah blah” party line. As for Murty’s new job, that sounds completely made up to give him a wage. Is this his sixth or seventh different job at the club now? We seem to be spending an absolute fortune on the setup beneath the first team, with very little sign of anyone pushing for a first team slot. Surely we must start to see some return on this massive investment this year?

money for nothing. hope we can sell sleeve sponsors, back of shorts sponsors and maybe even sock sponsors too. If there are enough companies out there stupid enough to pay big money for this type of exposure, then i hope we take money from all of them!

Watched a chunk of the city arsenal game, that fake fan noise is excruciatingly bad. Took me 30 mins to realise there was a fake-fan-free option on SS2. City are still a good side but the lack of fans kills the tempo and no amount of fake noise can replicate that. A few pointers if you’ll indulge me; David Luiz is still a really really poor defender. DeBruyne is still a fabulously talented player. Tierney is really poor, just what I’ve said all along that he can’t defend and he is proving it in spades tonight. The only time I’ve seen him get close enough to tackle he got booked! Still can’t believe they got anything like what was reported for him, that was pretty much fraud!

Decent interview there from SG, very positive. Sounds like we have all Our pre season friendlies all booked, although not sure I agree with SG that we will be excited by them. Nothing to get excited about when no fans can attend!

SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)

That would be a satisfactory outcome. -

Lol I like it! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you pointing out the blatantly obvious but I understand why you’ve written it the way you have. Can you imagine similar restraint from a dark side blogger? Hell, they have former captains coming out saying there is a conspiracy against them, the team who have engineered to be awarded 8.5 consecutive titles and several cups! -

I enjoyed reading that and agreed with almost all of it. I cant say I agree that it was rejected because it was Rangers who brought it forward. It was, IMO, rejected because it wasnt what celtic wanted. I doubt it would have been given any further discussion or credibility if it was Aberdeen that were saying it. This is, was, and always will be, about getting celtic any and every possible advantage they can get, and to hell with the rest of football if they are badly affected by it. -
Castore Announced As Rangers Official Kit and Retail Partner

Do we have a new main shirt sponsor in Unibet? Another crappy gambling firm! Anyone else reminisce of being sponsored by good Scottish companies like double glazing? Ok so that’s a joke, but beer and gambling are not good role models for future generations of our kids. I know these income streams are vital but we harp on about inclusivity and our place in society and the community but then advertise a gambling brand as our most visible sponsor. Is it only me that thinks that’s a bit hypocritical? -

Peter said no so there was no point putting it to a vote as he has the casting vote no matter what the 41 clubs want. -

He would say that now wouldn’t he? -

Season Ticket prices frozen and membership scheme launched

I wonder how many have refused to pay the outrageous price increase at bar72 for 20-21? If they are letting you pay it up over 6 months and giving you refunds for games locked out, it must be a poor uptake. -
I see it reported that finishing the season early has cost the SPFL £7.5 MILLION. A small price to pay to ensure Peter got his way and his rancid club got their tainted title I am sure all the clubs can agree. It is almost being spun as a victory that this is getting taken off our Sky money over the next 5 years and we dont need to pay it back immediately. Oh what an achievement. I wonder if BT Sport will be as forgiving given that they do not now have a contract to take the broken contract from. Look out for a big bill from them hitting Hampden soon and probably being swept under the carpet so as to not give any credibility to our claim in our report that finishing early would cost up to £10M in repaying tv contracts, which now looks absolutely bang on the button. I await our club coming out with a massive I told you so later today.

So on top of buying a real season ticket for games I will not be able to gain access to watch, I need to buy a virtual season ticket as well if I want to see our behind closed doors games? Do Rangers get to keep all the money from the Virtual Season ticket or is it going to be dispersed via the SPFL/Sky? Do we get to have our own commentators, or will Sky provide two anti-Rangers scumbags to tell us how Morelos should be sent off this week? If, for example, crowds are allowed back inside in January 2021, are they going to show our home games live through the virtual ST when they want 50K fans to attend in person? What about our away games, are they covered by this virtual ST or do we have to buy our opponents coverage? If Sky are showing the game, do we need a virtual ST or just a Sky subscription? So many questions, so few answers.

If we can’t sit in an office, a restaurant, go within 2 metres of another human being even with gloves and masks on, then how can it possibly be deemed safe to have 15-20 footballers in a penalty box for a corner, all sweating, saliva freely around transferring from body to body. Either the government of every country is feeding us absolute nonsense about risk of transference, or our sporting companies are playing fast and loose with the lives of their employees. As much as I think Boris is a twat and Nippy Nazi Nic is incompetent to the core, I know which of the 2 options I see as being more likely. If it was as simple as testing everyone once a week, do you not think the country would just have rolled that out to all? Certainly much cheaper than a nationwide lockdown and an economic catastrophe. I run a small business with 6 employees in an office. Each desk is more than 2 metres apart, and we can observe social distancing at all times. But the government has me down to reopen in phase 3 as that is when they feel it is going to be safe to do so. But footballers can have as much contact as they like simply because they get tested every week or so?
-
There should be no football until fans can attend in unrestricted numbers. Football without fans is completely pointless. I have come across the German games a couple of times and can’t watch more than a couple of minutes before having to turn it off, it’s not entertaining without the atmosphere generated by the crowd. The leagues and clubs who are pushing to get matches back on are basically saying F*** the fans, f*** the players and coaches, we want our tv money and we don’t give a hoot if people get ill or die or if fans get anything for their support. And by the way, give us your season ticket money and buy a new strip and sit down (at home) and shut the hell up.

Seems a reasonable price for Hagi. Seems an absolutely ridiculous price for Ferguson. No thanks on that one. For that kind of money we have to be bringing in first team regular players. Who is Ferguson going to replace in our midfield? Nobody is the only correct answer. We can’t afford 7 figure transfer fees for squad players. And just as important as all of the above, we MUST NOT be giving Aberdeen a single penny. Utter scum club who hate our existence.

I don’t have time/patience for podcasts so I haven’t seen those questions put to Castore or the answers discussed anywhere, (Only use this site) so apologies if I’m behind the loop on those issues. i agree all the positives will be great stuff if and when it’s delivered. I take it your gut feeling from your 30 mins was that they are going to be able to fulfill the promises made? it was a great coup for you and your site to get the interview in the first place, congrats for that and keep up the good work. -
That was my first thought also, given the timing. A bit of appeasement by the SFA/SPFL as if they were doing us a favour on this when it had not an earthly of success in the first place. It is either that or they were trying to sneak out this news under cover of awarding the bheasts their tainted title so as to not annoy the rabid hoard too much. That is probably closer to it.

Letting Wes run down his contract and not cashing in on him last summer or even 18 months ago was a huge mistake by the club. A once £3M rated player who wasnt in our first team has been fully paid up and allowed to leave for nothing. Not Wes's fault, this one is on the club. I know this pre-dates the current DofF but we cannot afford to be making mistakes like this, it reminds me too much of the Martin Bain era!

Castore Announced As Rangers Official Kit and Retail Partner
Tannochsidebear replied to blueflag's topic in Rangers Chat
I am long past wearing a football top so I am not their target customer for replica strips, but if they fill the shops and online stores with other products, like we used to have in the 90's, then I could finally get back to spending money on merchandise. I used to buy tons of branded goods, from the big panoramic pictures to mousemats. It was always worth a wee browse round the shop to pick up another wee gift for myself or my son. I would love us to get back to that scenario. On the blog interview, it was the ultimate in puff pieces but informative from a PR exercise none the less. I would have liked to have seen a bit more interrogation though. Where was the questions about their being able to afford this partnership? Or being able to produce the quantity of stock that will be required? Or be able to dispatch it quickly and efficiently all around the world? What logistics for world-wide distribution do they have in place? Have a website that doesnt crash when it goes live? All problems we have seen from aligning ourselves with non-premium brands in the past. It seems we are prepared to take another punt with a player who has no idea what is about to hit them. As with all new partners/sponsors/players they get the benefit of the doubt to start with, so I wish them (and our club by default of course) every success in this partnership. They dont have long to get everything in place, so I hope they manage to pull this off in time. The Rangers supporters wont be long in letting them know if they fall short of their promises, but we will buy the stuff in record numbers if they get it right.
