Holt returns to Rangers following season ending injury

100% agree with all of that DB, spot on! -
Had forgotten about Hutton as well, good shout BD!

Prso, wow, how could I forget big Dado, a big fav of mine as well!

No room for sentiment. I like Wallace a lot, but his time has gone. I’d rather give game time to a youth player with next season in mind than a sentimental send-off. Almost certainly going to go running to the papers when he is gone, so any goodwill towards him currently will probably evaporate when he does the inevitable Daily Rhebel exclusive on the eve of a big game for us next season. If he leaves and keeps his counsel, he will be welcome back to do the halftime draw anytime!

The biggest difference between strict liability and the recently repealed offensive behaviour act is that the one they didn’t like was the law and the courts & PF generally didn’t discriminate. Strict liability will be run by the scum for the scum within football, so can be as biased as the compliance officer is and only see/hear/scrutinise what Radio Scotland/Sportscene/Daily Rhebel push for punishment, and ignore anything done by green brigade and the like.

If we had got Davie Weir at 31 instead of 36/37 we would have been much better off! -
Goram Stevens Gough Weir Numan Laudrup McCall B.Ferguson(1st spell) Albertz McCoist Boyd it says fav team, not best team so I’ve picked my fav players I’ve had the pleasure to watch in each position. I’m quite specifically talking about Barry Ferguson 1998-2003 when he was a creative attacking midfielder, not the frustrating sitting midfielder from his second spell. if it was best team I would make a few changes. i could easily do another 11 as well; McGregor Porrini Cuellar Bjorkland Munro Miko Gazza Gio Cooper Mols Negri And I’m still missing out some of my fav players and cult players from teams I’ve watched like Ian Ferguson, Durrant, Charbonnier, Wateruus, Hateley, Steven, Boumsong, McMinn, Bocanegra, Thern, Robertson, Roberts, Kanchelskis, Rod Wallace. since 2012, only Lee Wallace, McKay, McLeod, McGregor, Morelos, Tav, Arfield would get anywhere near these lists for me. (Plus of course all the ones I have momentarily forgotten all about!)

I thought at the time our banner wishing Stevie Clarke get well soon was crass and beneath us, the fact the tims have copied us only reinforces my initial thoughts. The Onion Bears will be pleased that the Gangrene Brigate have copied them, it will give them credibility in their own eyes.

Me too, I have done the tour a few times, but the one time I was lucky enough to have Tiny as my host was awesome, her family is steeped in the club, and her passion and integrity were obvious and what I believe is what our club is all about.

I see our last home game of the season is against the bheasts. Watch out for the SPFL saying that "the police" have advised our players cant do a lap of thanks to our fans in case there is trouble from the away corner. And if we even think about giving a guard of honour to the most dishonourable club in all of football.....

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Tannochsidebear replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
We had to bring in a huge number of players last summer, and it was always going to be the case that not all of these were going to be sucessful. I think we got more wrong than right. What we dont need is more squad players. We have a great group of youth players who we need to be able to call upon if injuries/suspensions kick in. We have enough squad players who can still do a job for a game or two here and there, but what we need more than anything is quality first-team starters in the key positions that seem to have always needed attention. If Katic is not to be given the gig, we need a CH that works with Goldson, and of course, we need the creative midfield player to get 10+ goals and 10+ assists that takes a team to the title. The stats for Kent and Candieas in this regard have been very disappointing, and is what our side needs to win the SPFL against the type of teams and formations we play almost every week. -
If he named all of these, the interview couldn't have been done in under 8 minutes! Sounds worth a watch, will try to catch this soon.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Tannochsidebear replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Spot on, our squad is littered with average players who can come in and do a job where required but are not title-winning starters. We need players to come straight into the first team, improve it, be more consistent, and take us to the title. Should be easy enough! -
The McKenna/Morelos incident is the first thing that came to my mind also. For these mhedia scumbags to have such double standards is not at all surprising. It is easy to point out the utter hypocrisy, far harder to get equal treatment and balance from the authorities. We need a neutral compliance officer (and panelists) who dont read the papers, watch Sportscene, or listen to the radio, to avoid the kind of partial influence that leads us to where we are. Of course we all know this is never going to happen, especially when our club lies down and gets our tummy tickled in the face of such obvious bias instead of going to war.

match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 3 - 0 Hearts
Tannochsidebear replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I would agree in that I was pleasantly surprised and delighted how well we played (Hearts were gash so that may have helped) in the first half hour, and the second half was cruise control. Agree Tav was superb and easily MOTM (Davis got the official one - must have been his Mammy choosing it!) Kamara had a solid game, as did Kent (however his final ball is still more often wasteful than accurate) and Defoe was busy and a threat all night. I had no clue, and still dont, as to how our middle to front were supposed to operate last night. The keeper, back 4 and Defoe are obvious, and Kent was pretty much a left winger all night, cutting in sometimes but mainly out there. Kamara, Jack, Arfield, Davis were our other 4 in the midfield areas and at first I thought it was Davis sitting deep and Arfield in the front of a diamond, but the further the game went it wasnt very clear who was supposed to be doing what and where. Not such a problem when we score early, control the game and our opponents have a bad night, I just found it curious that I, and many around me, had no clue as to what shape we were sent out with? It seemed to work so i'm not complaining, but you can usually tell early on who is to sit where and what the roles are, but last night I couldnt. Maybe that is the way forward and we did seem to outnumber Hearts at times in the middle. A 4-5-1 with nobody on the right wing? Where i completely disagree with your analysis (and not for the first time with this player!) is with Ryan Jack. I get it that you think he is a very good player. But I thought he was anonymous yet again last night following on from his complete no-show on Sunday. The game passed him by as easily as a Hearts midfielder last night. Not one tackle he put in that I recall. Lots of energy and ground covering but not once did he win the ball back, make a positive forward pass, or get into the box to support. The difference when McCrorie came on for him was highly visible, winning tackles, making forward runs and passing positively. I stuck up for Jack when he was being targetted by referees, and he had a spell earlier this season when it seemed to click for him and he put in a few good performances in a row, but the last few weeks as our team have struggled, he has been posted missing far too often. I know SG likes him, but even he must know we cant have someone there who only plays to his potential every 3 or 4 games, and rarely performs well in the big games. The frustrating thing is i think there is a player there, but we dont see it anywhere near often enough, and when the chips are down, he downs tools quicker than most. -
That lowlife rhat Brown has now got 3 of our players suspended with his moronic actions while he himself gets off completely. As as I said at HT someone should have taken him out the game without fail in the second half. Our failure to do that has cost us another 2 players. There is another game in a few weeks and every single player should be lining up to have a boot at this cheat. My guess is he will bottle it and be injured.

Anybody seen SG's after match comments yet? I turned off at the FT whistle. Any official confirmation about further cards in the tunnel? -

Well thats definitely one way to look at it. Not even close to the way I saw it. Kamara didnt give the ball away, but didnt give us any positive momentum. SG picked Jack to start ahead of him, when Kamara's composure may have been better in the first half when we were needing it more, but I was commenting on making subs to positively influence the game. We were well on top by the time Kamara came on, and that swap for Jack was like for like and made little difference to the last 10 mins. Defoe didnt get a sniff. Davis had hardly any time to make any impact and you rightly say he had one forward run which may have led to something better, but didnt. I think it is safe to say our subs didnt change the game, our shape, or anything tactical about the game. Which was my point. -

Now that you mention it, I think that is very accurate! The big man is never going to be a top defender when he cant win a 1 on 1. Thankfully he leaves in 7 games time. Yes, i'm on full countdown mode now to the end of another ineffective trophy-less season. Improvements have been made, but the old failings are still there and are getting magnified more and more as the cost of our squad and wage bill increases. -

Looking more positively, we have shown they are awful defensively, have no tactical clue under the bigot, and when we get rid of Worrell, and get in a creative playmaker, we might be able to challenge. But we have to stop committing defensive suicide. I thought Tav defended brilliantly today, until his brain-fart opened us up to concede their winner, albeit only because we then didnt put a tackle in (Yes im looking at you big Joe again!) and failed to pick up the runner. We still have too many players who look to hide when things aren't going well, Ryan Jack being the biggest culprit for me, Candieas being another, and it looks like Morelos cant handle big game pressure. Goldson was poor today as well. And for all these players didnt play well, we were the better side for most of the second half, even with a man down. That is the biggest single most encouraging thing we can take away from that match. Good performances from Kent (easily our MOTM), McCrorie, Halliday, and McGregor. All 3 of our subs were completely ineffective, showing we need better quality on the bench and our manager needs to learn how to make subs that impact the game. That will come with experience, and I was hoping his management staff would be more helpful to him in these situations. Morelos will now play only about 3 games of our 7 left and will almost certainly be missing for the final OF game at Ibrox. -

Brown has won them the game with blatant cheating. In a balanced world, that would be the major discussion point. His kick at Morelos, followed by a dive holding his face which wasnt touched, won them the game. Not one of our players went through the ugly chunt for the rest of the game apart from Kent and that was only to get the ball back to take centre. How he has been allowed to walk off the pitch unharmed should lead to every single one of our players hanging their heads in shame. I fully expect SG to not mention Brown at all in his post-match, when it should be all he talks about. Shift the focus to this cheating low-life and watch the mhedia come out blazing to defend the indefensible. -

FT we have gifted the scum 3 points today with piss poor defending when under no pressure. You could pretty much say the same about every trip to the piggery in the last 10 years. -

Thats big Joe woefully short at both goals and not hungry enough to stab that in. Walker on full referee mode now to get Kent a red card for getting Brown out his road to be able to take centre while Brown is in his face. -

Worrell misses a tap in from 1 yard after a great shot from Kent.
