  1. Douglas McNeil?
  2. You seem to have a very defeatist attitude to our chances of league success Rab. We've only played 14 games from 36 league games, with 22 still to play, so we're not even 40% of the way through the season. There's a long way to go and absolutely no chance that Hearts will keep up their unbeaten run indefinitely. This league is still ours to throw away IMO, but we clearly need to stop dropping points and win most of our games.
  3. Alloa have proven twice already this season that they can get a draw against us in the league, so it's down to our management team and players to collectively figure out where they've went wrong and put Alloa out of the Cup.
  4. Personally, I think the reason that Jackson occasionally writes this type of piece is that his boss(es) at the Daily Record require him to do it in order to play to the portion of their readership who are Celtic fans. I'm not defending Jackson for the derogatory tone, but it might not even be all his own work because he could easily have been given an article outline by his boss and told to write it up.
  5. I can't help wondering if that will be the same solicitor who's Jack Irvine's buddy and employed by certain upstanding transport tycoons to threaten Rangers fans and Rangers sites with legal action? We should be told!
  6. GPL roundup plus the latest results and standings tables following our bitterly disappointing defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday: http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?66991-Predictions-for-Hearts-v-Rangers-SPFL-Championship-match-14-(GPL-game-22)&p=529399&viewfull=1#post529399
  7. That's my entry sent off and if I win it I'll donate the prize to the Gersnet Prediction League prize pot!
  8. I thought one of Black's tackles at Tynecastle on Saturday was quite similar to his one which injured Jelavic and he was lucky that his trailing leg didn't catch the back of one of the player's legs and snap a bone or cause other serious damage. He's generally a hard working midfielder and that's sometimes handy to have in the side, but his negative attributes outweigh his positive ones IMO. Too many needless, careless fouls in dangerous areas and while it was a very soft penalty on Saturday, it was still Black's fault.
  9. More info from McMurdo's blog article on Saturday night....... ________________________________________________ Well, I promised you good news and here it is: the RSL is now receiving memberships. Two kinds of membership are available – single costing £10 per annum and family costing £15 per annum. Family memberships are great bargains as they allow you to register up to five family members as RSL members. You can also donate on top of your membership fee or at any time. Monies raised will go to support the club and Rangers-related projects. For example, the RSL intends to retain the services of a solicitor to tackle anti-Rangers bias wherever it is found. We intend to introduce a new Rangers forum free from the bile and abuse of other existing forums. Our general stance is that we support Rangers Football Club and do not see that taking punitive actions such as boycotting Rangers is the way to effect change. In short, we are LOYAL BEARS. We support the club and reserve the right to criticise where we feel it is appropriate. Without, of course, taking actions that would imperil the club’s very existence. Feel free to join and itch in with your own viewpoint. Your input is very much sought after. Unless it involves flash mobbing Sports Direct shops and red card protests. You can join Rangers Supporters Loyal here: http://www.rangerssupportersloyal.co.uk For any problems registering, please email gersfans@mail.com New RSL blog here: http://www.rangerssupportersloyal.wordpress.com ________________________________________________
  10. Here's the original blog article announcing the RSL group from back in April........ April 1, 2014 by billmcmurdo Rangers Supporters Loyal The rebels in the Rangers support have reacted with predictable hatred and venom to news that loyal fans are preparing to buy extra season tickets and are also willing to pay extra monies to the club in order to offset the impact of a potential season ticket boycott. The good news for those loyal fans, many of whom read this blog, is that the new supporters group is in the process of being formed. A new website with a forum is being developed and the loyal fans can have an online meeting place that meets their needs – a place free from the negativity and pollution of other online forums. This forum will be a place where Gers fans can communicate with each other without the playground abuse you get elsewhere. It will be heavily moderated in terms of who gets to enter the forum. No agitators, rebels or imposters will be allowed and, if found therein, will be punted swiftly. A code of conduct will be drawn up for the new supporters group and its general ethos will be one of support for the board – without giving the board a blank cheque in any way. Many great ideas have been put forward and we hope the new group will have an immediate and dynamic effect on the Rangers family. The driving force for this new group has been the vision and determination of Ayrbear to create a voice for fans of Rangers who are not anti-board but are very much pro-Rangers. Old-fashioned attributes of dignity, decorum and respect – as exemplified by Rangers men of old – are very much part of the ethos this new supporters group will seek to embody. We all owe Ayrbear and one or two others who are in the background a massive debt for putting flesh and bone to an idea whose time has come. This group will be staunch friends and allies of other Rangers groups who share our values of supporting the club through thick and thin. However, we will implacably oppose those who seek to agitate matters at Ibrox for self-seeking agendas that could damage RFC. There will be an annual membership fee and all monies will be fully accounted for with transparency. It is important for me to say this – this will not be the Bill McMurdo Rangers Supporters Group. I am happy to support it and be involved with it but this new group has come out of that wellspring that is still thankfully at the heart of our massive bluenose support – the wellspring of loyalty to and love for the club which makes us The People. In other words, it is YOUR group. Your devotion to Rangers has demanded that such a group be formed. The group will be known as Rangers Supporters Loyal and this name says everything about what this organisation will epitomise. It is not about individuals but about Rangers FC and what the club stands for. Many of you have indicated your willingness to join Rangers Supporters Loyal. Soon you will have the chance to do just that. Also we will have a meeting soon to formalise things and elect office bearers. We are coming down the road, folks and we will not be stopped, sidetracked or deflected. http://billmcmurdo.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/rangers-supporters-loyal/
  11. This new RSL group was initially announced on 1 April and people thought it was an April fool's wind-up.
  12. UserCP is your User Control Panel which is the same as user 'Settings'. Assuming you're on a computer and not a mobile device, then the Settings button should be at the top of the forum page. On your screen it's at the right hand side next to the 'Log Out' button. When you go into your forum user Settings you should see a list/menu of options at the left, one of which is titled 'Edit Email & Password'. If you have any problems, just let me know.
  13. If you want I can reset your password and email you with a new password (which you should then change to your own new password in your forum UserCP/settings). BUT(!!!) before I do it, you need to make sure that the email address which is registered in your forum account is correct and up to date otherwise I would have no way to contact you after resetting your password.
  14. LAST CALL !!! Don't forget to post your predictions before kick-off at 12:45 !!! Do it here - Predictions for Hearts v Rangers - SPFL Championship match 14 (GPL game 22) PS - No start for Boyd, so you might want to change your FGS prediction before kick-off if you picked him!
  15. The attempted smearing and bad mouthing of Dave King is exactly the same type of nonsense that we were hearing from the Rangers board (especially Somers & Easdale) and Toxic Jack when they were attacking McColl & the requisitioners a year ago. The cheeky bastards and their PR rats then try to spin it into a story about the Club being under attack by the Rangers men and some of the more gullible people in our support lap it up.

  17. He also wrote a virtual mountain of match previews, match reports and regular articles (daily bread & butter) for the Rangers website. He wasn't popular with everyone, but best of luck to the guy in his future career.
  18. Yep, cue some more lies coming from the spin doctor who works for the Easdales and in the interests of certain people on the Rangers board, but officially has nothing to do with Rangers, then does, then doesn't, then does/////////
  19. Hopefully someone sets Merlin straight too because he still appears to be playing a big part in coordinated attacks and spin/propaganda against Dave King.
  20. Good to see Dave King responding this way to what always sounded like total lies from Easdale & Toxic Jack.
  21. Another victim of ongoing redundancies?
  22. There's some very good points and interesting questions there and as I said previously, there's lots of questions, but very few definitive answers. Regarding your final question in bold: I find it virtually impossible to believe that Whyte or any employee who knew about the non-payment of taxes at Rangers (of whom there were possibly many!) believed that a massive tax bill could be run up and then somehow cleared before the end of the tax year. Since we went into administration in February 2012 I've seen it mentioned many times that Whyte was probably depending on us reaching the CL group stages and getting the lucrative cash pot that comes with doing so. The fact of the matter though is that even if we had done so, the vast majority of the CL cash wouldn't have been paid to the Club until after the end of the season, so into the summer of 2012. So without a CL cash windfall, how else could Whyte have paid off a massive tax bill? Selling players? Whyte had just allowed some of our best players to be given bumper new deals, so their transfer market values were technically at a premium. Several of our players could possibly have fetched some pretty serious fees, but there's a big problem with that train of thought too. Not only had we been struggling to sell players for good fees for several years, but the buying Clubs in the transfer market were normally only looking to pay a fraction of the total fee up front, with the rest of the deal being paid in installments over several years. None of that is to say that Whyte wasn't contacted by HMRC and simply fobbed them off with a pack of lies, but any senior Rangers staff who knew that taxes weren't being paid and that a massive tax bill was rapidly growing should have known that Whyte was almost certainly driving the Club straight towards insolvency. So what should any staff at the Club who knew what was happening have done about it? Well, someone alerted senior Scottish football reporters at the Record about it. Who was that? If it was someone within Ibrox, then it raises further questions about how many Club staff knew what was going on. Do we really believe that all of the senior Club staff other than the Financial controller knew nothing about any of it because Whyte had told him to keep his mouth shut? Where's my banana boat? My guess is that a fairly large number of people within the Club will have known despite saying that they didn't.
