    Oh, now maybe that's the REAL reason Wallace & Nash were forced out and nothing to do with being in favour of Dave King & co's recent funding offer at all......

    That makes perfect sense because IIRC David Grier was pictured with Craig Whyte at Ibrox before he took over from SDM.

    I see it's now been confirmed within the past hour that Whyte's arrest warrant has been issued.

    It's definitely fishy, no doubt about it and that's a massive understatement. As I said to compo on another thread, Ashley appears to have Newcastle stitched up like a kipper. What we seem to be witnessing unfold before our eyes is him doing exactly the same with Rangers.

    Llambias was probably involved in the initial Ashley/SD retail and advertising deals with Green, Ahmad & Stockbridge over 2 years ago because he apparently spoke at a meeting with fans at Ibrox regarding the stadium naming rights. We were then told by Green that no deal had been concluded only to find out 2 years later that he'd sold the naming rights for a quid.

    It might sound simple compo, but there must be good reasons why Ashley hasn't been able to flog Newcastle. There's no doubt multiple reasons, but he was previously (in 2009) asking for £100m for the Club and couldn't sell it. I don't know the current debt level, but as of February this year Newcastle owed Ashley almost £130 million quid in loans. Then there's the Newcastle retail, marketing and advertising deals which are probably long-term and in Ashley and Sports Direct's favour. Newcastle is probably stitched up like a kipper with onerous contracts and that's exactly why he hasn't been able to sell it, even if he genuinely wanted to.

    Maybe Ashley's men wanted to ask Stockbridge in person where the massive section (£4m+) of unspecified IPO costs actually went?

    If true, then the detention of Clark & Whitehouse could certainly point to the investigations being about far more than just Whyte's takeover, if not now, then certainly as the situation develops. As ever though, criminal activities need to be proven and most of these men will try to lie and wriggle their way out of it via technicalities.
