  1. This nonsense must have come from Charles Green & co.
  2. You said to me quite recently (after July I'm sure) that you'd never been a member of VB, but I'd need to track down the post. I'm surprised that you'd pull D'Art into this discussion, but if he's given you permission to do so, then fair play.
  3. The lad should be given another chance after his loan spell ends because from what we've seen of him, he does look like a good attacking option on the right.
  4. Thanks for your previous reply BH and I do appreciate the difficult questions you're being asked and politely answering here, much appreciated. Regarding this 'barred from FF and VB' point: You said previously that you weren't and had never been a member of VB and yet now you're saying you're banned from VB?
  5. Wednesday, 05 November 2014 21:04 U20: Rangers 4 - 0 Spartans Written by Alice Hedworth RANGERS youth side started their defence of the SFA Youth Cup in impressive style at Ibrox – the youngsters netted four against a startled Spartans side. A strike from Ryan Sinnamon, a Daniel Stoney penalty and a brace from Ryan Hardie made it 4-0 on the night. Gordon Durie’s side are determined to keep hold of the trophy they won, when they beat Hearts on penalties, last season. The Gers young guns shone the brightest on Bonfire Night, as they eased passed Edinburgh outfit Spartans after opening the scoring early on. With just ten minutes on the clock Rangers mustered up the first attempt of the game and it ended in a goal. Ryan Hardie made room for himself on the left and cut a ball back from the by-line. He floated a cross to the back post and it was met by the onrushing Sinnamon who arrived in perfect time to slot the ball home beyond a helpless Brian Carswell. A couple of minutes later Daniel Stoney began to turn the burners on as he rushed down the left channel. The forward, who’s currently on loan to Stranraer, sorted his feet out quickly to have a shot from close range - only to find his effort smothered by the Spartans keeper at his feet. Junior Ogen has impressed since securing a place in the U20s starting 11. On 16 minutes he received a threaded ball through the middle and his speed took him away from his man, but his shot was straight at Carswell and was easily saved. Rangers were applying the pressure to a startled Spartans and with 19 minutes on the clock Hardie showed his class, as he has done time after time this season. The striker twirled away from his defenders on the edge of the box in spectacular style to eventually free himself of markers. The young forward finished over the keeper in calm fashion after leaving the Spartans backline in his wake to make it 2-0. Just three minutes later Sinnamon broke into the Spartans box and was brought down for a penalty. Daniel Stoney stepped up to take the spot kick and dispatched the ball down the left of Carswell and into the bottom left corner. Ogen deserved a first half goal after a series of chances went close, first a volley from 20 yards out was held by the keeper - and then he got his head to a cross swung in from the right, only to see it saved at close range. With forty minutes on the clock Spartans had their first shot of the game. Scott McGrory-Irving found space in Gers box after a ball found its way in from the right wing. He got a toe to the ball and poked a shot towards Liam Kelly, who gathered the ball down to his right. With ten minutes of the second half played Andy Murdoch floated a ball down the right channel to reach Hardie. The 17-year old took one touch and lifted the ball over Carswell on the angle to give him his second of the game and Rangers fourth. With the game at 4-0 both teams failed to create many efforts during the final half hour of the game. Tom Walsh had an effort from the edge of the area that looked to trouble the Spartans stopper. Then Spartans sprung into action, Blair Atkinson stormed forward and combined well with George Hunter. Hunter though couldn’t keep the ball on his toes and only mustered a weak shot. With 78 minutes played Hunter had a chance to make amends with, probably, the best chance of the game for the away side. A ball was played into his feet as Spartans rushed in the Gers box in numbers. Hunter let the ball come across his body and let fly with a shot on the angel but saw it soar over Kelly’s cross bar. Walsh forced an impressive save from Carswell with five minutes of the game remaining, the stopper having the tip his effort over and round off a busy evening for the Spartans keeper. RANGERS: Kelly, Sinnamon, Ross McCrorie, Pascazio, Gasparotto, Gibson, Ogen (Wilson 66”), Murdoch, Hardie (Jefferies 87”), Stoney (Jamieson 87”), Walsh SUBS NOT USED: Robby McCrorie, Brownlie GOALS: Sinnamon 10”, Hardie 19” & 56”, Stoney 24” http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/item/8019-u20-rangers-4-0-spartans
  6. Wednesday, 05 November 2014 17:00 Ready For All Possibilities Written by Andrew Dickson CALUM GALLAGHER has no idea if he’ll be called back to Rangers atthe end of his loan to Cowdenbeath but feels he’ll be ready for a return if he’s required at Ibrox. The forward joined the Blue Brazil earlier this year until January and has scored three times so far during his spell in Fife against Hearts, Queen of the South and Alloa Athletic. Indeed, the 20-year-old is relishing his time at Central Park and would be equally happy to remain there until the summer if it’s felt that is the best option for him. Gallagher’s clear long-term ambition, however, is to make himself a regular with the Light Blues and he feels he’s making progress in his bid to establish himself with Gers. RangersTV visited the youngster at his temporary home recently and you can see an exclusive feature about the striker on the official club television channel now. Gallagher believes he has shown improvement in the few weeks he has had with Jimmy Nicholl’s side. And he is sure whoever he is playing with in the second half of the campaign can benefit from that. Gallagher said: “It’s a win-win situation for me. If I stay here, I’ve really enjoyed my time so far and I would enjoy staying on and seeing out the season at Cowdenbeath. “I think the manager and staff there are quite happy playing me and going back to Rangers would be more of a test for me. “At the same time, it’s a test I would gladly put my name in the hat for. That’s where I want to be playing my football and where I aim to be playing it in the future. “Come the time over Christmas, if the manager wants me in I’ll be more than happy to come back because that’s where I want to be. “It has been good to test myself at the same level Rangers are playing at and so far it has been quite a good start. “When the time came for me to go on loan, a big thought was whether it would be beneficial to go out to a team at a lower level and perhaps be seen to be doing better than I was. “It might have been false in the sense I’d have done well there but maybe couldn’t cut it in the Championship. “It was a bit of a leap of faith to go to a team at this level and I’m really happy with the way things have worked out. “I just need to keep going and give the manager something to think about by the time I get back as well as do well and get results for Cowdenbeath. “It was the right decision to come out and hopefully I’m going to reap the benefits in months to come. I’ve taken a lot of confidence from the move. “Along with that, my overall play has got better, I feel more composed and more sure of myself on the ball. “I’ve played in front big crowds against Hearts and Hibs and I feel as though I’ve handled it well and given a good account of myself. That has prepared me for coming back to Rangers.” http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/8011-ready-for-all-possibilities

    Welcome Thread

    Welcome to Gersnet Siam.
  8. More than acceptable 26th, thanks! That's your name down for it.
  9. The loan players from Newcastle stuff is probably just spin and propaganda designed to try to soften some of our fans' opinions on Ashley tightening his grip on our Club.

  12. I appreciate the response BH, but after numerous attempts to clear up the mud surrounding one important and very specific issue, you still appear to be skirting around it and dodging questions. I asked the following questions regarding that one particular section: You've avoided answering it. Why not just tell us exactly what happened at the meeting regarding that section of the minutes instead of being vague? What exactly was said and by whom?
  13. Agreed, although I'm thinking more along the lines of we'll be doing well if he's still ours on 1 February.
  14. Updated to include our Scottish Cup tie with Killie on the 29th or 30th of November..... Does anyone fancy writing a match preview between now and Friday for the Falkirk game at Ibrox on Saturday? We're also still looking for volunteers to write match previews for a whole bunch of games before the end of 2014, so if anyone fancies having a go at writing one just post to let us know what game you want to do and we'll put your name down! _____________________________________________________________ Completed fixtures Jul 03 - Buckie Thistle v Rangers - Friendly - Zappa (done) Jul 06 - Brora Rangers v Rangers - Friendly - forlanssister (done) Jul 15 - Ventura County Fusion v Rangers - Friendly - Zappa (done) Jul 19 - Sacramento Republic v Rangers - Friendly - no volunteer Jul 21 - Victoria Highlanders v Rangers - Friendly - no volunteer Jul 23 - Ottawa Fury v Rangers - Friendly - no volunteer Aug 02 - Derby County v Rangers - Friendly - Frankie (done) Aug 05 - Rangers v Hibernian - Challenge Cup - Zappa (done) Aug 10 - Rangers v Hearts - SPFL Championship - 26th of foot (done) Aug 15 - Falkirk v Rangers - SPFL Championship - shorerdbear (done) Aug 18 - Rangers v Clyde - Challenge Cup - Super Cooper (done) Aug 23 - Rangers v Dumbarton - SPFL Championship - Zappa (done) Aug 26 - Queen's Park v Rangers - League Cup R1 - forlanssister (done) Aug 30 - Rangers v Queen of the South - SPFL Championship - Frankie (done) Sep 12 - Raith Rovers v Rangers - SPFL Championship - shorerdbear (done) Sep 16 - Rangers v Inverness CT - League Cup R2 - BrahimHemdani (done) Sep 20 - Alloa Athletic v Rangers - SPFL Championship - Bearman (done) Sep 23 - Falkirk v Rangers - League Cup R3 - no volunteer (done by Zappa) Sep 29 - Rangers v Hibernian - SPFL Championship - Hildy (done) Oct 04 - Livingston v Rangers - SPFL Championship - blueflag (done) Oct 18 - Rangers v Raith Rovers - SPFL Championship - Super Cooper (done) Oct 21 - East Fife v Rangers - Challenge Cup QF - Little General (done) Oct 25 - Dumbarton v Rangers - SPFL Championship - Bearman (done) Oct 28 - Rangers v St Johnstone - League Cup QF - no volunteer Nov 01 - Dumbarton v Rangers - Scottish Cup R3 - no volunteer (done by Frankie) Nov 04 - Cowdenbeath v Rangers - SPFL Championship - SteveC (done) _____________________________________________________________ Upcoming fixtures: Nov 08 - Rangers v Falkirk - SPFL Championship - ??? 17. You can get the 'ball park' info very easily from a company in that specific field.
  18. He doesn't wear the number 10 jersey for a laugh, that's for sure and if you look at the best number 10's they can essentially play anywhere across the midfield and front line. That is exactly what Lewis Macleod is being trained to do now and while he didn't have a great game tonight, which I'd maybe put down to new/unfamiliar pressure, the concept of playing a free No10 role is definitely not alien to the lad. In fact, he's very very good at it.
  19. From your response, it looks like your answer to Time4_Change's question is a resounding 'YES'.
  20. Less than 2 hours to go, so don't forget to post your predictions for the Cowdenbeath game before kick-off! Do it here - Predictions for Cowdenbeath v Rangers - SPFL Championship match 11 (GPL game 19)
  21. Barcode scanners, even very high quality ones, aren't particularly expensive. It's the installation of the other related hardware and creation of the custom software system that the real expense would be in, but even then, it wouldn't (or certainly shouldn't) be a vast cost overall.
  22. It would be interesting to hear what your amendments were. I'm very surprised that such a suggestion would have had 'widespread support' on RM, especially since there's a lot of support for VB who've had meetings with Craig Whyte, Charles Green & co as well as Graham Wallace & co over the past few years (if I'm not mistaken). It's also a rather strange notion for the RFB to even consider or suggest defining 'unelected' bodies or groups when so many fans were left out of the RFB election process. We're talking about roughly 15,000 fans who didn't renew their season tickets, many of whom had been ST holders for decades. How many of them do you think signed up to the membership scheme and voted in the RFB elections? Also, since this is a question often asked of other fan groups & bodies, how about providing some numbers based on the actual number of unique voters for the RFB elections? How many people voted? <1000? >1000? >2000? What was the number? Ok. Well, hopefully the remaining and new directors aren't naive enough to agree to narrowing down their face to face channels of communication with the wider fan base solely to a newly formed 'fan board' created by a CEO who has just exited stage left. They were right to raise it, but the minutes suggest that after a response (from who?) you then raised the other suggestion put forward by RM members (which you also happened to agree with), is that right?
  23. Aye, that's essentially the same type of system that's used for printing off your own boarding passes at home for flights with Easyjet and other airlines. Similar system as used by courier companies these days too. For example you can go onto a site like Parcel2go and order a UPS (or other courier) shipment and you just print out your own shipping label which has all the details plus the barcode and unique tracking number. I would imagine the only real issue for Rangers doing something similar would be the initial installation and setup costs.
  24. It's impossible to assume anything when the minutes are so unclear. BH's answer to Frankie's question didn't really clear up the mud either.
