  1. Ashley's owned a top 8 English club for 7 years and even with all his wealth and interest free loans to the club they've only finished inside the top 8 once in 7 years. 2007–08 - 12th 2008–09 - 18th (relegated) 2009–10 - 1st (Championship) 2010–11 - 12th 2011–12 - 5th 2012–13 - 16th 2013–14 - 10th
  2. It's amazing the number of connections that link to Craig Whyte, including Daniel Stewart & co. Was there not some kind of connection between Whyte's father and David Murray?
  3. Ah, now I remember! It was in the official RNS announcement to the stock exchange regarding the recent 'Open Offer' !! http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/12067610.html
  4. No, I can't remember, but forlansister probably will. It was reported somewhere though and mentioned on here back in late August/early September that the end of June accounts apparently showed £4.2m in the bank and that £2.7m of it wasn't actually in the bank, but tied up/locked in Rangers Retail Ltd.
  5. You just never know what Green & Co have done since they took over. For example, it took 2 years for us to hear that Green had apparently done some sort of stadium naming rights deal with Ashley for a quid back in 2012. What we certainly do know is that Green & Co did the initial retail/merchandise deal with Ashley/Sports Direct in July/August 2012 and it was finally completed and announced on 22 August - Sports Direct Deal Confirmed We also know for a fact that Charles Green had approached Freddy Shepherd about buying the Club as early as the beginning of May 2012 and we got several weeks of rumours going right into June that Shepherd was going to be Green & Co's main backer. Shepherd confirmed that himself and said recently (back in July this year) that he pulled out of the deal because of the big tax case. Anyway, with the obvious links between Shepherd and Ashley, when you join a few dots, then there does seem to be some strange connections or coincidences.

    Ibrox Suite

Bloody hell, that is a seriously stupid place to install an electrical socket. The Ibrox Bar is closed tomorrow night, so maybe they're getting repairs done? I guess it could just be because of low numbers of ticket sales though.
  7. Lol. I should have stayed on course and not been sidetracked on that one because my original point was basically just: "Well, well now. We've hired a Geordie reporter! Coincidence?"
  8. T4C, was it not reported a while back that the results to end of June this year show £2.7m being owed to us from Rangers Retail? If that's correct, then you'd imagine it would be well over £3m now with sales of the new shirts and 2014/15 kits.
  9. In fairness, I think King's £16m offer would have been accepted if we weren't being run in circumstances where that Easdale/GreenCo block has so much control and jumped into bed with Ashley. On a sidenote, the cynic in me is thinking that our media department appointing a Geordie reporter/journo recently might not have been a coincidence after all....
  10. That's from this morning and 4 or 5 hours late.
  11. Mega Minted Mike Ashley is going to spend some of his fortune restoring us to glory and chasing Champions League successh don't cha know!
  12. Ashley would have gotten his way one way or another because we've no doubt been stitched-up again. Laxey have played a key part in this too because some of the reports have been saying that Crighton switched sides at the last minute.
  13. I've got no idea mate, but if they were given the opportunity to buy those shares and chose not to, then they must have had a good reason. The significance of those shares going to Ashley obviously played a part in how things have unfolded, but how big a difference is unclear. It was only 5% and that 5% holding will probably only be a 2.5% holding very shortly. Personally, I think we've been stitched-up again and that Ashley has been planning these moves for ages. If that's the case, then those Hargeave shares wouldn't have stopped Ashley getting his way somehow.
  14. He was disliked by Newcastle fans partly due to things he said about ex-players, Newcastle legends etc, plus, on Ashley's behalf he spearheaded the renaming of St James’ Park and was responsible for a string of bad decisions that led to their relegation. On the other hand, you never know what he'll be like for us. He might be a bawbag, but he's well connected in the football world and transfer market and apparently a good transfer deal negotiator.
  15. Can't say I'm pleased with this appointment. He's obviously experienced, but he wasn't a popular man at Newcastle. His predecessor at Newcastle, the lawyer Chris Mort, on the other hand, was very popular.
  16. Don't all rush at once FFS! Anyone fancy writing a preview today or tonight ahead of the League Cup Quarter Final game tomorrow night?
  17. That's the predictions thread up for the League Cup QF tie against St Johnstone at Ibrox tomorrow night folks. Don't forget to post your predictions between now and the 7:15pm kick-off. Do it here - Predictions for Rangers v St Johnstone - League Cup QF (GPL game 17)
  18. The dado is back... minus the bandage! GPL round-up as well as full results and standings tables following Saturday's 0-3 win at Dumbarton.......... http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?66459-Predictions-for-Dumbarton-v-Rangers-SPFL-Championship-match-10-(GPL-game-16)&p=523261&viewfull=1#post523261
  19. If that's the case, then thankfully it won't be for long. In fact, I can't see why Ashley would want to keep the Easdale brothers around at all. He'll probably use them for his benefit voting wise in the short term, but if Ashley eventually takes majority ownership he won't need them moving forward.
  20. Maybe you should add "or maybe not" to the thread title.
  21. If Ally gets the sack hopefully he finally starts being completely, totally, brutally honest and spills the beans about what's been going on for the past 3 years.
  22. Yep, it's almost as if someone decided they needed a better educated patter merchant than Green and Wallace got the gig, although there's been plenty of reports suggesting Wallace was working on things behind the scenes which were actually beneficial to the Club and not just himself & his pals, something which can't be said of Green.
  23. It's easy for people to get caught up in the developing story. I wasn't overly keen on Wallace right from his appointment and didn't hold much hope for him having much power or lasting long. It turns out his performance hasn't been good on multiple fronts, but I don't think he was anyone's place man or lackey and nor was Nash. Unfortunately the same can't be said of certain other Directors.
