They do indeed because they certainly didn't seem to do their jobs as administrators properly and that's a serious issue.

I don't believe a word that comes from Somers, Easdale or any of their cronies, but Dave King's latest move is extremely confusing and this section of his statement in particular: Can someone explain what he's suggesting here? How is it that "140 years of the club's history will be irretrievably lost"? Surely there's more chance of that happening if the fans follow the risky strategy being advocated and attempt to starve them out with a full-on boycott? What if the boycott strategy forces the current regime into signing off on Ibrox &/or Murray Park sale & leaseback agreements that make the situation even worse?

I think the situation with Alexander was that Green had initially verbally offered him what he wanted which was a 2 year extension of his deal, then when it came to crunch time several months later he was only getting offered a 1 year deal on reduced wages. I doubt if reduced wages would've been a massive issue, but he wanted 2 years, not 1, so that was that. It wouldn't surprise me if Ally wanted to sign Gordon because bringing back Simonsen was left until the last minute, but there wouldn't have been any spare money in the player wage budget for Ally to sign Gordon unless another high earner or two had left in the summer.

What a complete and utter joke. Redundancies should have happened during administration and this year we should have been starting to build the workforce in certain departments back up, not scaling it down. We've been getting totally shafted for 4 years.

Dave King had very little choice other than to release a statement, especially when it's a stick-on that Somers was indeed "being disingenuous with his comments". Since immediately after he was appointed David Somers has shown virtually nothing but contempt for the people who've had the Club's best interests at heart. It took Somers all of about 5 minutes after his appointment a year ago to start bad mouthing Jim McColl & co and judging by his collection of embarrassing statements, his MO seems quite clear.

The day this Somers clown no longer has anything to do with Rangers will be a very good day and it can't come soon enough

A minute's applause for someone who died four days ago is not a fitting mark of remembrance or tribute in any way. Why would you clap to pay tribute to anyone's death? It's like saying well done for dying! Only at the piggery! Shame on the SFA for allowing that pish!

It's not just a lack of balance though, it's the quality of players too. If we're honest with ourselves and start at the back, we don't even have the 2nd best 1st choice 'keeper in Scotland because Gordon and Alexander are both better than Bell. Then there's our so-called defenders. One of our first choice central defenders is 36 and isn't even a bloody defender and neither of Ally's first choice full backs are particularly good defenders. Our midfielders are consistently inconsistent and 2 of our main strikers have bigger turning circles than a McGill's bus!

Winter transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
Zappa replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I'll be expecting quite a few of these apparently false rumours to surface over the next couple of months. -
Is that not what football teams are expected to believe by their fans though? Should it really be different? How many of us here wouldn't try to instil a 'no fear' mindset into our players if we were coaching or managing a team ourselves? If teams were ever previously scared to play us it was only because we had a squad full of really good international class players and in many seasons we had the best squad in the country, but we haven't had a squad worthy of anyone fearing us for quite a while now. I've seen people saying we've currently got the second best squad in Scotland, but does everyone here actually believe that? I'd say it's debatable.

As I said in my first reply to your OP, there's no defending Ally, his coaching staff and the players who were fielded for some of those results, but if we're going to be critical of him I think it should be done fairly. There's people on here who've done virtually nothing since they joined the forum other than moan and bitch about Ally and post stuff verging on vitriol about their thoughts on him. It's repetitive and even more embarrassing than watching one of Ally's teams struggling. Yes, we all know Ally is probably the worst manager the Club's ever had, but the Club's at it's lowest and worst ebb in it's entire history for reasons that have absolutely NOTHING to do with Ally. Again, I'm not defending Ally or trying to make any excuses for the poor football. Let's be fair though, that's all I'm asking.
-
Is it really all that 'silly' to say let's look at it with a bit of balance, fairness and some wider ranging facts than just our own poor results? I'm not trying to defend Ally here btw! All I'm saying is it's definitely a more complex discussion than just rhyming off Ally's poorest results.

In fact, the Celtic v Arbroath one was a replay! Arbroath got a 1-1 draw with them at Parkhead in Dec' 2012 and the replay in Arbroath which ended 0-1 was apparently very controversial!

Calling clubs and their players 'dross' is really disrespectful gunslinger. When we were in the 3rd & 4th tier playing so-called 'dross' some of those very same teams were meeting SPL teams (who weren't in disarray like us) in the Cups and often giving them really tough games and even causing upsets. In fact, there were even Highland and Junior League sides doing the same and there's DOZENS of examples. One that springs to mind is a very strong Hearts team before their admin event being extremely fortunate indeed to beat Auchinleck Talbot at Tynecastle a couple of years ago. Another one that springs to mind is Celtic going up to Arbroath in the Scottish Cup and being very VERY lucky to walk away with a win. That's two examples where the better team just scraped through an extremely tough match, but there's numerous examples of SPL/top flight club defeats to lower league opposition in the past few years.

There's no defending Ally, his coaching staff and the players who were fielded for some of those results, but if we're going to be heavily critical of Ally it should be done fairly. For a start, almost half of those poor results were in the season following our administration at a time when we had no 'pre-season' and total turmoil at the Club both on and off the pitch. We started the season with players who knew they were heading out the door as soon as their agents could find them a club and due to the number of player departures that summer Ally was forced to play a whole bunch of kids who were completely raw and inexperienced. It's fine for people to compare us to Hearts, but the comparison isn't necessarily a fair one because the situation at the two clubs following the respective admin/insolvency events was completely different. For me, the biggest disappointment hasn't been the scattering of poor results or the frequent poor performances, it's been the player signing policy and the amount of money wasted on 2nd rate SPL journeymen with virtually zero entertainment value never mind sell-on value.

Tom Walsh – Stenhousemuir Midfielder Walsh got just over ten minutes of action for Stenhousemuir against Dunfermline coming on a substitute to replace Dickson. Stenny won the match 1:0 thanks to a goal from Kris Faulds Robbie Crawford – Greenock Morton Crawford played the full ninety minutes for Morton against Airdrie as the Ton won all three points in League One. Barrie McKay – Raith Rovers Young winger McKay played the full match as Raith came from behind to defeat Cowdenbeath in the Championship Fife derby. Kudas Oyenuga opened the scoring for the Blue Brazil, but McKay had a hand in both Raith goals, contributing a long free kick for the first goal and an excellent darting dribble over distance for the second. Daniel Stoney – Stranraer Stoney came on as a 70th minute substitute for Stranraer, replacing Gibson, as the Blues missed the opportunity to move into second position in League One, drawing 1:1 with Stirling Albion. Craig Halkett – Clyde Central defender Halkett who travelled with the first team squad to Brora on preseason played the full ninety minutes for Clyde as they dropped to a 1:0 defeat to East Stirling who scored through an own goal by McQueen in the seventh minute. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/item/8104-loan-watch

Winter transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours

Craig Whyte didn't have the money to pay all the bills for players he allowed to be given bumper new contracts in 2011 and it's a certainty that he knew it. -
The amount of completely unspecified "one-off costs" would amount to a staggering sum of money too.
