  1. Do we know for sure that the Club's been paying all of it's bills though? When did we find out for sure that Whyte hadn't been paying the bills?
  2. Hopefully a decision is made tomorrow one way or the other and hopefully Ahmad fails, but it's certainly a worry that he might not fail this time.
  3. Hopefully not, although it's definitely looking as though quite a high percentage of those who didn't renew their ST aren't going at all for various reasons. I don't think too many will have jacked it in completely though, but that remains to be seen. It's scandalous that the Hibs game at Ibrox in a few weeks is on a Monday night because that's going to hurt ticket sales for what might otherwise have been a good attendance.
  4. That's what I was wondering myself. Either it was simply overlooked by the SFA or they allowed it on the basis that Hearts were in big trouble and his involvement would solve some immediate problems for the club. Remember, Hearts were almost forced to sell Tynecastle and move to Murrayfield before Romanov got involved.
  5. So does anyone know what might happen tomorrow if Ahmad's bid to have assets frozen is granted, but the Club doesn't have the full amount of cash? Could such a situation even happen?
  6. Maybe they're seen as the equivalent of Napoleon's two pals in this picture from Orwell's Animal Farm?
  7. You would think that a good enough number of clubs could field U17, U19 & U21 teams in fully competitive leagues to make it worthwhile and also that it would be hugely beneficial to the development of the players? Even if it was only 8 to 10 clubs who could field a team in all three youth leagues, at least a good number of Scottish youngsters would be getting competitive development. It seems as if the people running Scottish football are actively trying to make it worse and kill it off rather than improve it.
  8. No specific bitching about other Rangers forums on Gersnet please folks. We have enough to worry about and talk about given the shambolic state of the Club without inflaming inter-forum squabbles.
  9. You're right. I've just checked the 2011/12, 2012/13 & 2013/14 Articles of Association docs and they all have that same 3% clause with no mention of any 10% rule in the Dual ownership section/Article 13. So why are the Scottish press & media running with this 10% rule aspect of the story? Maybe Ashley & Green applied for special permission from the SFA for him to have a stake and they said 'ok, but only up to 10%' ??
  10. I might be with you to a certain extent if he hadn't been instructing lawyers to serve fans with legal threats, writs etc and also had his lawyers threatening Rangers fan forums & sites with legal action too. Then there's the fact that he's making out as if he's Mr Innocent that's taking nothing out of Rangers and putting wads of cash in, but with him having been given such a large percentage of proxy voting rights, I find it hard to believe that there isn't something bigger at play that we don't yet know about or understand and Easdale is neck deep in it. He says he's his own man, yada yada, but he's clearly a front man for others and it's difficult to even consider trusting him.
  11. The situation would have been a lot more immediate back then if Whyte had actually been paying the PAYE & NI bills.
  12. Exactly, so when journos are citing a 10% rule that isn't there in the SFA Handbook, it begs the question, have the rules just recently been changed for the release of the 2014/15 SFA Handbook?
  13. This situation with Imran Ahmad has just reminded me of Martin Bain being granted an order to freeze about a half a million of the Club's assets due to fears of insolvency in September 2011 and Craig Whyte put us into administration 5 months later.
  14. We need to look to other Scottish clubs for examples of any kind of precedent, but even if we were to look at the Romanov/Hearts/Kaunas situation, it's clear that the SFA and SPFL have been changing very specific sections of their rules & regs over the past couple of years, particularly sections in relation to insolvency & ownership. At the end of the day, any final decision would be completely at the SFA's discretion and they could essentially do whatever pleases them.
  15. There's probably too many supporters who'll never forgive David Murray for it to even be possible Hildy. As with another failed CVA/newco event, fans would jack it in their droves if SDM returned in any major capacity.
  16. I had posted this in another thread, but moved the post into a new thread here because it warrants it's own thread and discussion. Basically, after again reading journos in the Scottish media referring to an SFA rule on dual ownership of clubs which would prohibit Mike Ashley from having more than a 10% share in Rangers I thought I would check the relevant section of rules and regulations in the latest SFA Handbook for the 2014/15 season and found that there is no mention of any 10% rule at all. There is however, a 3% rule outlined in Article 13.3 pictured in the screenshot below.......
  17. Regarding Mike Ashley, the question of dual club ownership and the rumoured '10% rule', for anyone interested in reading the exact rules in the current 2014/15 SFA Handbook (Articles of Association/rules & regulations) just have a quick read of Article number 13. titled "Dual interests in clubs" which starts on page 90 of the Handbook PDF document. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/SFAPublications/ScottishFAPublications2014-15/Handbook%202014-15..pdf
  18. After the nightmare of the first one, the bidding shambles and the Club handed over in a closed deal to shysters like Green & co, a second insolvency event has always been one of my biggest worries because the danger of a second event was increased tenfold by Duff & Phelps not properly addressing the excessive cost base like administrators normally do when they go into a loss-making football club. With the position we're in now in terms of the ownership another insolvency event could potentially finish us off and even if we managed to get through it via a CVA I'd be very worried indeed about the ownership of the stadium and training ground because numerous clubs down south and across Europe have lost ownership of their stadium or in some cases even lost it completely during an insolvency. Another failed CVA & newco scenario could be absolutely catastrophic because even if we got through it with our license, history & titles in tact I think there's a high chance that quite large numbers of fans would just decide to jack it in altogether because they've simply had enough. Very worrying times indeed.
  19. Why on earth did they change to this 'development league' system? Why change to the U20 league system, then change it again? What's wrong with having U21 & U19 (or U18) leagues to coincide with the U21 & U19 national squads? Can clubs not afford to keep that number of youngsters on their books?
  20. Regarding your point about him 'only' wanting a third of the amount of interest/loan fee dB, if I'm not mistaken, it was actually originally half the amount, so £75k as opposed to the £150k fee involved in the Laxey facility, but when the Letham deal was finally concluded a month after it was offered, his fee had reduced to £45k payable in cash or shares. At the time I presumed that the £30k drop in fee was due to Mr Letham taking on some (or all) of the cost of legally transferring the deal & security from Laxey to himself in order to finally push the deal through, but obviously that was just a guess. All things considered though, I definitely agree with D'Art and others who've said that Mr Letham deserves our thanks.
  21. I think we're probably both getting way too far into the realms of speculation with these ticket revenue projections because nobody at this point in time has any idea what the average ticket sales per match are going to be over the course of the season never mind what the overall revenue from those sales is going to be. The bottom line though, is that this new board which was very purposely assembled in November before the AGM in December has categorically failed to notably cut the Club's cost base as Wallace immediately said was needed when he arrived and repeated numerous times in interviews and statements after his appointment. Not only that, but they also knew almost immediately after their appointments, that they were going to need to bring in significant investment to see the Club through this 2014/15 season because the Club was running at a significant loss and they were never going to be able to cut the cost base enough to remedy that problem. It could be argued that the only thing they've actually done RIGHT since their appointment to the board/s in November is get rid of Green & co's so-called financial expert Stockbridge (for definition of expert in his case see 'liar' or 'book cooker' rather than bookkeeper), but they didn't even get that one right because they appeared to pay him off with a 100% bonus which they'd previously assured us he wouldn't be getting! What else have they done right? Well they claim they got rid of Media House and yet Toxic Jack is still to this day apparently working closely with & for the Easdales spinning their PR to the Scottish mainstream media. Not a big deal if we were only talking about a couple of brothers and their <5% shareholding, but they hold proxy voting rights for about 27% of the company. Let's look at Wallace's fudged attempt at player wage cuts. He apparently calls in Ally & Jig for a chat about it and the result ends up in Jig being asked to go and speak to the players about taking wage cuts which was never going to work in a month of Sundays because Jig is neither their boss or their employer. What about the "Ready To Listen" campaign? Complete waste of time and money. Anything else? Oh aye, what about Wallace & others on the board appointing/hiring a new PR guru and his PR consultancy firm the very day before the release of the laughably predictable and moonbeam-filled 120-day 'Business Review'? So what have they got right in over 9 months since they were appointed? Signing players like Boyd & Miller to try to bump up the ST sales when the Club clearly needed to cut it's costs and is now nearing a point where they won't even be able to afford to pay them? Dear oh dear! You could go on and on and on with the list of their failures because I haven't even started with half of it, but NO! It's all the fault of DK/SoS/UoF and those who chose (personally, not because anyone told them!) not to renew their season tickets.
