  1. It's a very misleading article title when you read the quotes of what Boyd actually said.

IIRC, it was about half and half, but there was a snowball effect from before it even got to 50/50 with media manipulation and eventual fan pressure on the Clubs who might have otherwise voted for the transfer of our league share to go through, then that snowball effect continued to other Clubs that weren't happy about it. In the end, I think a lot more Clubs than just Killie would have liked to go against the ringleaders, but ended up not wanting to upset the powers that be and their own fans, hence Killie eventually abstaining.
  3. Absolutely and since we're being hypothetical.... another possibility is that they haven't reneged on any guarantees at all, but that Stockbridge misled Wallace as to the real state of the finances and that Wallace was left in situation where cutting costs the way he might have liked to do wasn't affordable (contractual pay-offs, redundancies etc).
  4. That's a fair point, but as I said the other day, Wallace isn't as daft as he looks. He should have sought guarantees about his job remit and what power he would have before accepting the job just like the Dundee CEO Scot Gardiner did when he was approached and then rejected the job offer.

Yeah, it was me and I was saying it on here from before it even happened. As soon as rumours & a movement of opinion started building about 'the majority of Rangers fans' wanting to start in the 3rd Division I thought it was total and utter insanity and nothing more than cutting our noses off to spite our faces by those of us buying into it. In reality, I think a lot of our fans were conned into those thought processes by a Scottish mainstream media which was being constantly manipulated by enemies of our Club at the time, just as they conned the general public and footy fans across the country into believing that Rangers were guilty of tax evasion and cheating, so that the transfer of our SPL league share would be rejected. As I said on here at the time, if any degree of sanity and common sense had prevailed, what should actually have happened is that Doncaster & those running the SPL shouldn't even have allowed it to go to a vote, they should just have transferred our SPL league share and told any Club or anyone at all who complained about it, that to not have transferred the league share would have been impossible because Rangers were needed for the existing broadcasting & sponsorship contracts. It really WAS that simple and they could then have just given us a hefty points deduction to start the 2012/13 SPL season or some other sanction with some sort of degree of common sense attached. The problem was though, that Doncaster wasn't fully in control of the situation and in the absence of a Rangers CEO sitting on the SPL board we were faced with too many enemies on the SPL board and a major imbalance when the long knives came out. We should never forget that so many fellow SPL Clubs were bullied into that voting process and eventual decision.

The Monday night Hibs fixture is probably going to be disastrous for ticket sales.
  7. I agree rbr, but I'm struggling to defend Wallace at all because he hasn't done what he immediately said needed done when he arrived almost 10 months ago, which is significantly cut the Club's cost base. If he's cut it at all it's only by a relatively small amount because we're still making absolutely massive losses of reportedly WELL over half a million pounds a month. The other killer blow for Wallace is that if he and Nash conducted that 120-day business review (which ended up being overdue) and didn't find out about Green's Sports Direct naming rights deal with Ashley or that Green still has share options he can exercise, then what else has been missed? What other skeletons are still to be found when someones opens a cupboard that hasn't been opened in a while?
  8. I don't doubt you on that for one minute mate! That's why I didn't quote that part of your initial reply to my post. As you said, only the selection/nominations committee knows. Then again, maybe even they don't know. Maybe it's only one of the Club's full-time employees who dealt with the applications or who handed the applications to the committee who knows///
  9. It's possible, but with the large number of fans we have overseas I do find it a wee bit of stretch to believe that the only applicants from overseas were from NARSA. Again though, it's possible!
  10. That's the really soul destroying aspect of this because I think a lot of us have been advocates of an official Club membership scheme for years now and when the Club finally does it, as you say, they've went about it all wrong, for the wrong reasons and at completely the wrong time when relations between the Club & fans is at one of it's lowest ebbs. All we can do is hope that the Club scrapes through the current financial mess and gets a change in ownership and boardroom personnel which radically alters the Club/Support relationship and renews the lost trust, at which point maybe the membership scheme can be tweaked and made successful.
  11. Aye, I read that post. He seems to know a fair bit about Gary Gillan and Robert Smith, but doesn't seem overly impressed by either. Good to see forlan getting a good amount of support on that thread!

I think a lot of our fans' inactivity and to an extent, apathy, has been due to a sense of bewilderment and confusion because for a lot of folk it's been really difficult to know who to believe and what to believe. That's probably because there's been so much PR spin & propaganda being played out in the mainstream print press as well TV & radio, but also because online forums have been infiltrated by people who've deliberately tried to divide us, from toxic PR folk, to our obsessed and ever present enemies who write more online about Rangers than they do about their own Club. They're literally everywhere. They troll and comment on every single Rangers site, every single mainstream Rangers article and have even essentially taken over the share chat section on the LSE's RIFC plc section. They are completely demented.
  13. Interesting that all 3 'overseas' candidates are from NARSA. Gary Gillan is NARSA President, Robert Smith is NARSA treasurer and Ann Marie Vickery is from the Philly Loyal RSC, so it looks like NARSA have the 'overseas fans' board seat sewn right up!
  14. Are there any similar to this? Candidate Name Declan O'Bhoy City Shetlestone Why do you want to represent supporters on the Rangers Fans Board? So thit ah can git acces tae Sevco's stadium What qualities and experience can you bring to the role? dont no intill l try Have you worked on groups/committees before? e.g. local football clubs, community groups, etc. If yes, please provide brief details no Any additional information to support your application Chucky ar la anawrat

My basic point Craig was that when we went to down to the 3rd Division there were many fans thinking we had a 3 year journey back up to where we were, but a 5 year journey/rehab was actually more like it and even that now appears to be optimistic depending on how things play out between now & Xmas. It may well be that we have another insolvency event to deal with which would have the potential to turn a 5 year journey into a 10 year one. FWIW, yes you are heavy on the IPO cash figure mate. I think it was £22-23m minus somewhere in the region of £6m in fees including over £4m in mysterious 'one-off costs' which Stockbridge & Mather refused to explain. Even still though, I completely agree that it's criminal for them to have spunked away the remainder of that IPO money in such a short space of time. Stockbridge eventually admitted (after having lied about it) that the IPO cash was completely gone within 10 months of it having been raised. Criminal.
  16. They've commented on press scoops & press/media speculation numerous times in announcements to the AIM and they also announced the shirt sponsorship deal, so I guess it's just a case of cherry pick the stuff they want to tell the market about and hide the stuff they don't?
  17. It's already too late for Wallace because we're now almost 10 months into his tenure as CEO and he still hasn't addressed the primary issues he knew needed addressing ASAP when he came in 10 months ago.

Kirkcaldy should be livelier than usual this Friday night then!
  19. I get the feeling that Merlin and some of our other fans would welcome back the Charles Green dog & pony show!
  20. Yes, that's probably about the size of it. Crighton & Easdale might not technically do much, but they certainly do have important votes when it comes to decision making time.

No worries Steve and I see what you mean. Yes, I'm still cautiously optimistic, but obviously very worried too because walking the path in any sort of '3 steps forward, two steps back' manner, as we're in danger of starting to do, could easily turn a 5/6 year rehab (which started in 2012) into a 10 year one.
  22. I think Jackson's whole premise that those six men are the key individuals who have six weeks to save the club is flawed from the outset, so it's not exactly a good start. Somers, Crighton & the bus bros will probably do next to nothing while a lot of work gets done by Wallace, Nash and the company broker & NOMAD Daniel Stewart & co. There's countless less well known staff at the Club who'll be working their butts off trying to help in any way they can, while guys like Somers, Crighton & the bus bros just drop in for the odd game of footy and the free hospitality. Succulent lamb? Ooooh yaaah! Jolly hockey sticks old boy!
  23. Well done ladies!
