That was exactly what I meant by hassle (not the audit per se); trying to reconcile the directors assurances with the actual results and the resultant questions that might be asked as to their own credibility. Didn't have time to express that very clearly this morning.

Given that the directors forecast of ST sales required to confirm the going concern basis (after due enquiry) last time has proven to be wide of the mark (for whatever reason) it will be extremely interesting to see (a) what the directors say now about the Club's ability to continue to trade solvently and (b) the auditors statement in that regard. It is also difficult to see Deloittes continuing in the role; I'm sure they don't need the hassle.

Fair enough, what value would you put on the Club right now?
-
There's really very little between the Championship teams from 3rd to 8th, anyone can beat anyone. We should be able to account for most of them quite easily now, albeit there is sure to be the odd slip along the way. Very surprised to see Hearts falter at Dumbarton but we still have to get the better of our 4 games against them from a 0 for 1 start to be sure of going up as champions. 22nd of November at Tynecastle will be critical.

I think they will this time because the major investors don't want to put up any more cash but at the same time they know it's needed.
-
They would have to offer for all the rest of course but that would probably mean you get the Club lock stock and barrel for less than £20m.

Yes, I missed the real point you were making, as I said the other night; I'm not in the best of humour recently (for fairly obvious reasons that we won't dwell on), not helped this morning by Zappa's Operation Tango. I agree with you completely it's a childish practice, why not call them by their first names even. 50 years ago I was usually referred to at school as Harry (which was actually my father's real name); I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. Difficult to know what the magic number might be; but 10p is not entirely inconceivable. In a way it's a bit like the old 5 for £1 raffle tickets, you don't really get any more chance or say if its 1 for £1 or 10 for a £1; it all depends on what you can afford to spend and how attractive the offer needs to appear. However, if they get authority to waive pre-emption and go for approx doubling of the 81,478,201 existing shares in issue then 80 million at a 45%-50% discount say 12.5p might be very attractive although highly unpleasant for exisiting shareholders. The next one has to appeal to the masses. So it has to be pitched at a level where most folk could afford it if so inclined. Something like 1000 shares for £125 or 2,000 for £250 perhaps. Also a real chance for RF/RST combined to get up to 5%. And of course, loose change for some others who have been mentioned in this saga.

15/09/2014 Counter Credit Plgs army BGC £20.00 Balance £148.08 That's 8 signed up, still pretty disheartening and disappointing in all honesty.

I agree (not about being petty!) but I think you have to take into account that the players probably read it too; so a bit of praise may go a long way.

I have some thoughts about the team/formation etc for the Inverness game, not exactly a match preview but might be able to pad it out a bit, if no one else is up for it. However, anyone else who's been scoping something out, no problem; I had been thinking of doing Cowdenbeath on the day of the dinner.- 238 replies

Ally seems to agree as well. RANGERS defeated Raith Rovers at Stark's Park by four goals last night and manager Ally McCoist was delighted with the performance from his side. Goals from Nicky Clark, Ian Black, Nicky Law and a penalty from Lee McCulloch secured all three points for the Light Blues to move top of the Championship on goal difference, with Hearts set to play Dumbarton later today. Ally McCoist was delighted with the performance levels from his squad tonight, particularly the contribution from his back four "All of my management team thought the boys were excellent from start to finish tonight. "We scored some terrific goals and it could have been a lot more. Defensively was one of the things that pleased me more than anything, we were really solid and I thought that both centre backs in McCulloch and Mohsni were leading by example and defending really well. He continued, "Our two full backs made up the four and we played from there. I think that everyone in the team benefited from having that solid back four." Ian Black scored the second goal of the night with a deflected shot from distance and that was quickly followed by a top corner strike by Nicky Law, "I thought all of the goals were top class. "Obviously Blacky gets a little bit of help with the deflection but he was terrific. We've asked him to get forward and get some shots on goal and whilst he got a bit of luck with his goal, I thought he was terrific all night. "The third goal from Nicky Law was magnificent. We give him a bit of a hard time by saying to him that it's the only finish that he's got, but with the greatest respect, it's not a bad one to have! He curls that ball right into the top corner and it's simply a great goal." The manager was delighted with the overall performance of his team, particularly going forward, "We created some amount of chances, on another night bug Boydy could have walked away with the match ball under his arm. "Airdy was terrific and I just thought that as an attacking force we were really good today. We were delighted with the goals that we scored but as I said, we have in many ways been critical of our defending already this season but I think that the great performance all started from the way we defended this evening." http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/7643-mccoist-the-boys-were-excellent

Agreed, the shares are overpriced even at 22p and a further offer will have to be at a lower price again.

And safely home (sorry no cars apparently).

Confirmation that FS paid me in cash tonight, which I will transfer into the account when RBS fix this "We're sorry but Digital Banking is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. "

Boyd was awful; if you were running a Sunday pub team you would not play a guy like that who gets 3 clear cut chances and can't get close with one of them, now would you. It's fine scoring against QP and Clyde but if you can't score against the run of the mill Championship team teams then that tells a story methinks. However, as the learned Ser BS said in the OP; it was an excellent all round performance. The defence (even Mohsni) were very good and did not allow more than one or two clear cut chances as far as I can recall. Raith were restricted to 4 shots and only 1 on target. Wallace was outstanding, making at least 3 excellent tackles in the second half alone. I could see him as a CB later in his career. Our MF did indeed control the game and our passing has improved enormously; although Black still seems to find great difficulty passing to a Rangers player. Aird was more direct than I have seen and sent a great cross for Clark's header. Clark once again ran his socks off. Whatever other changes might be made he deserves a run in the team. And 4 International football players on the bench. We had 20 shots; 9 on target and scored 4, a very good return. We only conceded 8 fouls in the match, a good measure of our dominance and to be fair to them, Raith always tried to play foootball, conceding only 6 fouls. Whilst it was, therefore, an easy game to referee, praise must go to Mr Colvin as well for being in tune with the good spirit of the match; he was never close to a yellow card and I don't even think he spoke to any of the players. If I had been him; I would have been in both dressing rooms after the match, thanking the players for making my job very easy. Thanks also to the nice ladies in the Raith office who gave me a free badge as the shop was shut for some reason and also their catering staff for a juicy, thick steak pie, pity about the salty bovril. On a final note, evidence, if any were needed, that we were 100% correct to let Ross Perry move on; he is struggling even at this level.

I don't think that's accurate either. Hearts 43,683 Dumbarton 31,175 Drop 12,508 But the opposition makes that hardly a fair comparison or a trend. If we are 12,500 down next time Hearts come to town; now that WOULD be a trend.
-
My understanding was that the 23,300? number given in court was the paid for number of ST's I think the word used was "sold" or something of the like and was it not 35,000 or 36,000 last season. So it is a very substantial number but perhaps not quite as many as you suggest. And that does not equate to the reduced attendance because about 8,000 bought tickets for Dumbarton and QoS and 18,000 for Hearts. I am not belittling the numbers in any way; as I said it is costing the Club £500,000/month.

Yes, I know that but for a variety of reasons right now I don't have a great sense of humour.

Always happy to do you a favour, GS. I make that 43,604 for the games v Brechin, East Fife and Arbroath. So the difference compared with this season is 8,034. Defence rests.
