RST statement regarding the new 'Open Offer' of shares
BrahimHemdani replied to the gunslinger's topic in Rangers Chat
Well, I'm the person who tried to get clarity in the accounts not one of those who hid the truth but fair enough. I have asked the same questions of RF. -
Well, yes it would be GS. Rangers average attendance last season was a tad under 43,000. If the only people who go to the next match are the ST holders then we are approx 20,000 down; that's approx £500,000. And presumably you would want that to happen until such time as the club went into adminsitration, which admitedly wouldn't be very long.

Mike Ashley, dual club ownership and the 10% rule rumour
BrahimHemdani replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Regan re-wrote a lot of the Rule Book to get rid of the archaic committee structure and introduce the Professional Game Board etc. I don't know the specific reason for the 3% Rule but some kind of rule on joint ownership or influence is important. -

Just copied and pasted from the front of the Rule Book, thanks. -
OK that's a clear position. So you are happy to cost the Club approx £500,000 (compared with last season's attendances and taking account of this season's ST numbers) for that purpose?

RST statement regarding the new 'Open Offer' of shares
BrahimHemdani replied to the gunslinger's topic in Rangers Chat
Quite right, Christine, I was at a funeral yesterday and not totally focused. Forgot to multiply by 0.30185. Make that £33,677.76. Agreed? and have you got the money? -
I am sorry, GS, I just don't get your logic on this. By "proper strength" I take it you mean, no one (above those who have already bought ST's and you wish they hadn't) should go along game to game. So now that all the ST money is in from instalments the Club has no more significant revenue for the rest of the season? I'm not sure about your stance on the share issue, do you advocate buying more shares or not? You say you are not taking up your entitlement but apparently support RST doing so. If no one buys a match ticket from here on in or the share offer fails then the club will be insolvent and will go into administration or worse. And yet you say "What use is it buying an empty ibrox" Can you help me understand what you want (apart from getting rid of the Board) and how it should come about?

This is a good decision, though it would have been difficlut for the RST to do anything else. RST needs £33,677.76 to take up it's full entitlement or face its holding being diluted. How much does it have in BR? -

Sorry didn't see that before I posted. -

No, the same rule has applied since the Special Resolution Passed On 7th June 2011. -
Rangers being held hostage: Stockholm syndrome
BrahimHemdani replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
My point was not so much about previous RST Board Members as to the HNW brigade. Surely the enlightened new leadership of the RST has been in touch with these people already?- 56 replies

I cannot tell you how many times I heard that across the table from Messrs Edgar and Dingwall in 2010 but it never came to pass. What makes you think it is more likely to happen now? If Messrs Smillie and Park etc were going to put their hands in their pockets and fetch out serious money don't you think they would have done it long before now? I'm not going to rise to the bait about which fans group is the most credible; but two separate main groups with less than 1% of the shares each is pissing in the wind.- 56 replies

Craig, firstly I am a retired IFA, but when I was advising people on investment, the first principle was always don't invest money that you can't afford to lose. The next one was - the price of units can go down as well as up. More importantly, buying Rangers shares from a fans perspective is most certainly NOT an investment, in the normally accepted sense of the word, it is more like a free loan; and one that may never be repaid. Buying season tickets most certainly isn't an investment either, so, sorry but I don't see the comparison. Whether it's a loan or a purchase was argued long and weary on here so I won't go down that route again. I take the point about corporate hospitality but would think that most who have purchased in the past are Rangers fans who are also businessmen or otherwise celebrating an occasion perhaps? I completely agree with you about marketing and have said so on here more than once this season. In fact I can tell you that within the last few days I have urged the powers that be to stop sitting back and expecting the fans to turn up to watch Rangers v Dumbarton, Cowdenbeath, Livingston etc because it isn't going to happen; and get off their bahookies and do something about it.

That's true but it will be in the form of the kind of financing that none of us would find acceptable or more likely an insolvency event.

Hi BC Think about coming along to meet your fellow East AND West Coast Bears at the Second Semi-Annual Gersnet Dinner on 6 December where Hall of Famer Davie Smith is the guest speaker. Please review the sticky thread for details. You won't need your chopsticks!

RangersFirst <support@rangersfirst.zendesk.com> acknowledged questions (more than has happened on the Forum) How many members are there at present? What was the total number of individual and life members at the end of each month since March? How much is being contributed per month (ex Life Members)? What is the total amount paid for shares to date and the exact number of shares owned? How much money is currently in each and every bank account in the name of RF and how much of this is set aside for share purchase? How many Life Members, what is the total amount of their subscriptions in monetary terms and in share transer terms and has their money been used to purchase shares or is it held in a separate fund; if so for what purpose. Why are the membership numbers not published on the web site as promised 6 months ago?

Quite so but no indication of any progress since then. Even if there are 1,600 or 1,700 now (5/6 months later) that's not exactly the kind of progress required now is it.

Rangers being held hostage: Stockholm syndrome
BrahimHemdani replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Are you suggesting that DK and UoF are not already working hand in hand? RST are affiliated to the UoF are they not? It beggars belief that the RST have not had discussions with Mr King and any other party who they think might contribute through BR. Equally I stongly suspect that when Mr Graham was hanging around RF at the outset, discussions had taken place "behind the scenes". Jim McColl had no intention of investing in Rangers in 2010, all he was going to do was underwrite the fans bid through RST. Equally I don't think he had anything more than a nominal shareholding when he fronted the requisitioners last year. There's probably as much chance of him buying Rangers as us winning the Champions League.- 56 replies

Rangers being held hostage: Stockholm syndrome
BrahimHemdani replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Frankie, is a severe under statement. No one is being held hostage here, as you and many others have pointed out time and again every fan is FREE to make up their own mind about buying a ST or paying game by game or going to the movies or sitting in the pub etc etc. This is certainly true; “loyalty” to the club expressed in buying a ST is no longer seen by some as a “duty” and it’s interesting that you acknowledge that in my case the part that I have referred to hitherto is cash flow. However, as Zappa pointed out yesterday, the position is more serious than that now because it seems that most of those who said they would go game to game simply aren't doing that. So the "loss" to the Club at present is anything up to £500,000/ month. only have just over 1% of the Club’s shares between them. Both are being secretive about numbers and money raised on a monthly basis but I suspect that it is around £10,000+ in the case of RF and perhaps £2,000 - £3,000 at best in the case of the RST/BR. The RST will need to find ££33,677.76 to invest in the current Offer to avoid having their shareholding diluted. RF say they can take up their “rights” and more so perhaps they have £10,000 - £20,000 in the bank. At this rate of progress the declared first hurdle of both schemes namely 5% is a long, long way off. Most people acknowledge that the only way to get rid of the Board they dislke so intensely is to buy out the investors who voted them into office. DK seems discinlined to do that (notwithstanding the possible "fit and proper issue"), MA will be prevented by the 3% Rule, SDM is unacceptable to most. In May Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani said that he is greatly dissatisfied by the lack of approval and progress in getting both his sporting projects and plans for a commercial marina in neighbouring Marbella off the ground and running and has insinuated that he may just abandon the projects and could sell off the club (Malaga CF, if hasn't already). Perhaps he could be persauded to turn his attentions to the River Clyde and Rangers, or maybe he has a cousin?- 56 replies

Two days ago I posted this comment on the forum "Is this a secret society or what?".. Great minds...... So I've just sent all these questions again using the helpful ASK A QUESTION button the main page of the site. I'll publish any answers I receive. If 1 in 10 people are participating that would mean 1600 but I won't argue with you for 100! I doubt it's that high because I am sure I have read somewhere that it is still around the 1,000 mark and the numbers don't stack up to 1,500 members (although my calculations are only estimates based on little hard information).

All that will do is make the financial situation worse and turn off potential investors.
