  1. Whilst I take that point it is an offical source of investor information so if it is not accurate and kept up to date then I think Rangers would have problems with the AIM Rules. Without going through it line by line isn't the information on Rangers site in large measure an amalgam of the more detailed info you from FF or are there material differences? For example it shows the names of some of the custodian banks who are not the shareholders themselves.
  2. Yes it would but not in a big way because these investments are just a tiny proportion of the Fund's overall value. The maxim here will be that: the upside potential (from this price) is greater than the downside risk or at least it's a risk worth taking in pursuit of the fund objective. Unit Trusts (which is what these funds are) are a medium to long term investment and these are all some kind of "Recovery" Funds viz: The objective of R&M UK Equity Loing Term Recovery Fund - £164 million The objective of the strategy is to achieve capital growth through investing at least 80% of the fund in UK companies that meet the manager's recovery criteria of a turnaround in company profitability over the longer term. The fund will not be restricted by reference to a benchmark, sector constraints or company size. R&M UK High Alpha Fund - £425 million The objective of the strategy is to outperform the FTSE All-Share Index by 3% per annum (net of fees) over rolling three year periods. In seeking to achieve the objective, the manager operates within broad risk constraints in order to limit the volatility of performance relative to the Index, but that allow sufficient flexibility to express high conviction views in the portfolio. The strategy invests across the whole market cap spectrum, and will normally hold between 80 and 120 stocks. As an investor if you don't like the risk you shouldn't be in the fund; if you are then you need to trust the fund manager to get it right more often than he gets it wrong.
  3. It's right that the teams concerned pay the "going rate" at their clubs but equally it shows just how cash strapped we are if say £1600/£1700 is important to us. That said if you take half a dozen players at that amount or more it's at least £10,000 which will help with the electricity (or pay for one more week of Jig) as the dark nights set in.
  4. Rangers has an issued share capital of 65,810,341 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares"). Major Shareholding (3% or above): The Company understands that its major shareholders are as follows: Shareholder No of Ordinary Shares held % of issued share capital Laxey Partners Ltd 8,292,957 12.6% Artemis Investment Management LLP 5,479,000 8.33% River and Mercantile Asset Management LLP 4,795,500 7.29% Hargreave Hale Limited 4,601,688 6.99% Blue Pitch Holding* 4,000,000 6.08% Miton Capital Partners 3,143,857 4.78% Mike Ashley 3,000,000 4.56% Alexander Easdale* 2,942,957 4.47% Margarita Funds Holding Trust* 2,600,000 3.95% http://www.rangersinternationalfootballclub.com/share-information
  5. I think you've misunderstood what is being suggested. R&M for example have the holding split between two funds: UK High Alpha and UK Equity Long Term Recovery. Both Funds are managed by the same person - Hugh Sargeant. It may simply be the case that he has moved part of the holding from one fund to another. I doubt he would be a seller at this price since he paid 70p for some of the shares. Artemis have 4,000,000 out of their 5,479,000 shares in their Strategic Assets Fund and may have decided to diversify to spread the risk into some of their other funds.
  6. Web site now updated: SEVEN professional youth players have beaten the transfer deadline tonight to go on short term loans until the turn of the year. The Club can tonight confirm that Tom Walsh, Danny Stoney, Luca Gasparotto, Craig Halkett, Calum Gallagher, Barrie McKay and Robbie Crawford have all gone out on loan until January 1st. Crawford, who has played over fifty times and scored seven goals for the club since making his debut against Brechin in the Challenge Cup two years ago, will join Greenock Morton in League One. Gallagher, who burst onto the scene towards the end of last season scoring on his debut against Dunfermline at Ibrox in a 2:0 win has moved to Championship club Cowdenbeath, who Rangers will play on October 11. Gallagher has previously enjoyed loan spells at Alloa in season 2012/13 and East Stirling 2013/14. Fellow forward McKay will join Rangers' next opponents, Raith Rovers, also until January 2015. Canadian central defender Gasparotto, who has four appearances for the first team, has moved on loan to Airdrieonians in Scottish League One after a successful loan spell at Stirling Albion last season. Halkett, his defensive partner in the Rangers youth side, has moved to Clyde after enjoying his first pre-season trip with the first team in Brora in July. Elsewhere, midfielders Walsh - who has one appearance with the first team - and Danny Stoney, who has appeared three times from the bench, have joined Stenhousemuir and Stranraer respectively. Tom Walsh – loan to Stenhousemuir to 1 January 2015. Danny Stoney – loan to Stranraer to 1 January 2015. Luca Gasparotto – loan to Airdrieonians to 1 January 2015. Craig Halkett – loan to Clyde to 1 January 2015. Calum Gallagher – loan to Cowdenbeath to 1 January 2015. Robbie Crawford – loan to Morton to 1 January 2015
  7. The Wallace situation reported by SC is an utter disgrace; rewarding loyalty (albeit highly paid loyalty) indeed; but the best news is retaining McLeod. If he remains healthy and is not over-played (which I fear) he will develop into a great player this season and will take the SPL by storm next season if we can still hold on to him.
  8. I hope Gallagher will not be allowed to pay against us or we could get red faces from the blue Brazil. Edit: Ditto McKay for Raith.
  9. Loans in full: Tom Walsh – loan to Stenhousemuir to 1 January 2015. Robbie Crawford – loan to Morton to 1 January 2015 http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/7594-transfer-window-roundup
  10. One only had to look at the bench on Saturday to know that Ally has no intention of playing the youngsters this season. It's clear that he's going to rely on an "experienced" group professionals and his tactical genius to get us back to the SPL. The average age of our starting XI on Saturday was 28 with 4 players 30 or well over. Add in Miller for Clark would take it to an average 29 with half the team that age or older. I make it we're down to around 27/28 in the first team squad now including 4 or 5 goalkeepers. It's going to be a long hard slog this winter. From that point of view it's good that these youngsters are going to get a game somewhere but equally playing for the likes of Stranraer and Clyde are hardly going to prepare them for life in the SPL if they are part of our future plans. Gallagher in particular was our leading scorer in pre-season and should be getting a chance to develop as a potential future CF. Even more so now than in the lower leagues we have missed a tremendous opportunity to bring through a new group of talented young players. Are any of these clubs contributing to the players wages or is it just a "get a game" exercise on our part? And what of Barry McKay and Kyle McAusland?
  11. That makes sense because they are not showing as a BUY or SELL. The most likely candidates would be Artemis or River & Mercantile.
  12. OK time some of you guys who said you were coming along started to pony up . In no particular order: Frankie, BD, SC, JC, blueflag etc, you've all been paid now, so how about it? A wee reminder of the payment options: A £10 deposit now and the balance anytime between now and the end of November. The full £19.50 now £5 a month starting now, then end Sep, Oct & Nov. Newbies please PM me for the bank details for direct payment. NB: Do not hand Mr A Easdale cash and ask him to write me a check. Come along and share a beer with your fellow Gersneters. Hear Dave Smith reveal the milestones on the road from Nuremburg to Barcelona See if the gunslinger's mystery guest appears with an old holdall full of £50 million in used fivers and guess how long it will take Tannochsidebear to count them. Help us try to finish all the food this time.
  13. On the contrary, Ally got it 100% correct. He is the Manager of the Football Club, in other countries he would be referred to as the Head Coach. He is not the General Manager, far less the CEO of the plc. Obviously he knew and the journalists knew that the big story of the day was not Rangers v QoS but the big story of the day was not his story and he made it perfectly clear that he was there to comment solely on football matters. The journalists were out of order to pursue that line and after telling them several times he was perfectly correct to walk out. It would not surprise me in the least if he was under strict instructions not to comment on the share issue or any other aspect of Rangers financial affairs, as Craig rightly points out these are price sensitive issues, the more so when a share issue has just been launched. At the very least Rangers should have issued a press statement or made it clear that there would be no press statement by anyone from the Club since everything that needed to be said or could be said was in the Stock Exchange announcement. If it was anyone's job to field such questions it was Graham Wallace not Ally McCoist. What should have happened (if it was permissible within the SE Rules) was that Wallace should have been on hand to hold a preess conference immediately after Ally or at Ibrox later in the day. It's time that FOOTBALL journalists started asking McCoist football questions, here's a few to get them started: Why is McCulloch in the team? Why did you sign Lee Robinson when you have two youth international goalkeepers to back up the back up? Why is Mohsni still playing for Rangers? Why can't McKay get anywhere near the team? Why didn't we have one young player on the bench on Saturday? Why did you ask for the game v Esast Fife to be postponed when two of the international players that have been called up are not regular starters in the team and we have vastly superior resources to East Fife? etc etc and pursue these questions vigorously and not just accept vague answers like "footballing reasons" or "I'm not going to discuss individual players" etc etc. Then both the journalists and the football club manager would be doing their respective jobs in media terms.
  14. Even I would agree with that but if it happens you don't need to look too far down the Copland Road to find out who's to blame for the financial position we are in. Wallace is replaceable, McLeod is not; on the other hand I doubt Wallace would go but I also doubt that McLeod would not.
  15. Yes it has come in OK Rab, sorry haven't been able to check till now; and the description is indeed: 01/09/2014 INTEREST £0.01 Balance £108.08 29/08/2014 36DUMBARTON £10.00 Balance £108.07 Actually that's the same branch as for Elfideldo and probably because it's one Barlcays Branch to another Barclays Branch it is the branch number that comes through rather than your name. To clarify it is an account at Barclay's Bank in my name but is it is sub-titled GERSNET DINNER; but that only shows up at my end. Just a bit of sillyness by Rangersitis relating to a property ad in the Business Section. When you pay the balance it would be helpful if you could ask the cashier to quote "RANGERRAB" or your real name as a reference, thanks. Also please PM me with your real name and phone number for contact, many thanks for signing up.
  16. Anytime it suits Rab but preferably sometime in the next couple of months. So long as it's paid by end November that will be fine. You can pay a fiver at end of Sep and Oct or Nov if that suits you.
  17. I think you mean "affect" rather than "effect" but that aside as I said, I'm more than happy to bow to your far superior knowledge of all these matters political, financial and any other wise.
  18. Agreed. As I said essentially it's a small indirect debt for equity swap.
