Incredible game tonight. Malaga undeservedly led 1-0 on a rebound from a first half penalty and had 2 rightly sent off and survived a goal disallowed for offside and a good penalty claim in 6 mins injury time to win 1-0. Bilbao play Napoli on Wednesday in the ELQ4 1-1 from the first leg.

Actually was not any of those but do remember speaking to a big German lad in Malmo and no doubt other times as well.

Quote often and do occasionally bump into Germans, Swedes, Dutch etc and even Spanish but not dB so far as I am aware although I may have conversed with him in Malmo not knowing he was one and the same person. Hope this helps.

I think it's quite simple really, apart from the many possibilities advanced by dB, you said but that was before the end of ST sales was it not? Could it be that the existing investors have been disappointed by the ST sales, whatever the reason for that situation? If, I'm wrong, please go easy as I've been out in the 33C sun.

This is extremely sad news. I sat beside Gordon at the dinner in May and he told me quite matter of factly about his diagnosis. We were both surprised that we had not come across each other when I was on the JAG/JAG and I had said I would go through to meet him but regrettably the occasion never arose. In one of the threads about the second dinner he posted that he didn't think he would make this one. I suspect now that he meant that literally. I think we should hold a minute's silence before the dinner in December. Also I would be happy to contribute to a Gersnet wreath if Frankie could organise that in time for the funeral. I am off to Spain but thoughts will be with his family. BH

A share issue is not a short term measure, it is a means of medium to long term financing. Also there is no way of knowing how many shares would not be taken up by existing shareholders and hence how many Mr Ashley would acquire in the underwriting. Who else do you have in mind as an underwriter?

In what way is asking an existing investor to underwrite a share issue, a "short-term, desperate measure"? Why would Mr Ashley underwriting a share issue be any more desperate than the UoF's preferred candidate? The UoF are in no small way responsible for the shortfall in ST sales and now they derride the Board for asking an existing investor to underwrite the necessary share issue?

We have no way of knowing what the take up will be and hence we have no way of knowing how many shares Mr Ashley might have to buy.

BF, there are various salad type tapas at least one of which should be on the list on the night, tortilla (Spanish omelette) and other vegetables and of course there is paella (rice dish with seafood, chicken or meat) to follow; but if you absolutely cannot eat any of the Spanish food then I'm quite sure that Cristobal will be able to rustle you up a chicken, fish or meat salad. We will be glad to have you along and won't let you go hungry!

No worries, I enjoy doing stuff like this and it's great to get repeat customers! One thing is sure, I doubt we'll be celebrating winning the league at that point.

That's the "attraction" of the Cowdenbeath game; hopefully won't get moved to the Sunday and an early kick off on the Saturday would actually suit us. Thanks for being the first to sign up.

The Second Official Semi-Annual Gersnet Dinner (with Special Guest Star Dave Smith) will be held at Malaga Tapas, 213-215 St Andrew's Rd, Glasgow G41 1PD http://malagatapas.co.uk/ at 5.30pm on Saturday, 6 December 2014 (subject to alteration if the Rangers v Cowdenbeath fixture is moved). Rangers Hall of Fame Legend, Dave Smith, who played in our second and third Cup Winners Cup Finals, has kindly agreed to give a short talk on THE ROAD FROM NUREMBERG TO BARCELONA and will answer questions thereafter. (Edit 21/11/2014. Now that we have exceeded 20 persons we will have private use of the new café next door to the original restaurant. The owner, Cristobal has obtained a special licence for the event.) All the other arrangements will be the same as last time. The price of the dinner itself will remain at £18.00. However, in order to cover the cost of Dave’s dinner, the final price will be £19.50. The sharp mathematicians amongst you will note that this is based on a “minimum” of 12 people attending i.e. the same as last time. If we get less than 12, then those present will have to make up the difference; if more than 12, then the balance will go into the drinks kitty. The dinner price really only covers the standard Malaga Tapas deal, which is for 3 tapas per person and a dessert of your choice; however, in our case it will include a primer plato of meats and bread and choice of paellas after the tapas. Again, as last time there will be at least 6 different tapas, x3 per person and three different paellas. If anyone has any particular favourites on the menu http://malagatapas.co.uk/menu/ please post and Cristobal will do his best to oblige. I don’t think anyone will go hungry.
