  1. The transcripts read that the Murray group enabled Whyte. If Whyte or his representatives used vague language instead of being diligent and checking what it meant. They just assumed it to mean what they wanted it to mean. That was very clear in the discussion around "personal resources"
  2. I always liked Van Vossen and thought he would have a renaissance when Advocaat joined, he did! It was just a pity it was with Feyenoord and not us. Salenko who Van Vossen replaced I thought was also a good player he just didn't settle with us and he was very slow. Van Vossen's first touch when he was with us was his biggest downfall.
  3. Most of those never played for us in the 90's. Nicky Walker was a good back-up keeper, perhaps not good enough for to be our number 1 in his time with us. But I'd take him now. Ted McMinn was a winger and not a right back. He's always been a bit of a cult hero no matter where he went again I'd take him now in the first team. Jan Bartram don't really remember him he wasn't with us long. Scott Nisbet was never a big fan but again a cult hero because of his bizarre goal. Steven Pressley had a solid career away from us but like Walker he was never good enough to be a regular starter for us in his time. But I'd take him now. Cammy Fraser was before my time, my only memory of him is playing in an Old Firm in Souness first season. Billy Urquhart again don't remember him Ian Durrant was destined for big things before his injury and was a good squad player for us after it. Kenny Miller has always tried hard for us Gregg Wylde had a couple of good games for us that was it. If we're talking about 90's squad players how about this? 1. Ally Maxwell 2. Stephen Wright 3. Gary Bollan 4. Brian Reid 5. Scott Wilson 6. Barry Nicholson 7.Derek McInnes 8. Charlie Miller 9. Neale Cooper 10. Erik Bo Andersen 11. Peter Van Vossen
  4. That's been a rumour for a while. Other than to make us number 1, King nor anyone else on the board has the money to literally throw it away. We're on a long road with no real hope on the horizon.
  5. I actually agree about Hill and Wilson (less so with Wilson) I thought Hill flung himself into everything. But we were exposed time and time again by Sinclair and Roberts. I appreciate Celtic on the whole are better than us but we made easy for them today time and time again.
  6. All the challenges our players made today came across as half hearted. There was absolutely no conviction in the tackle. It was as if they didn't believe they could win it. I'm not even talking about the game! Any 50/50 ball you knew the Celtic player was leaving with it. To me and as someone who played as a defender that's very basic. You either take the ball or you make them work to get past you by which time your teammate should be filling in the gap behind you.
  7. No commitment, No passion, No drive, No pass marks for any Rangers player. Absolutely shocking!
  8. We've no dig or fight about us whatsoever. We could end up getting a helluva hiding here.
  9. What was he doing diving in like that, he was going away from the goal.
  10. Miller has consistently earned his place this season and he's earned another year.
  11. If Tavernier could be properly converted to midfield I'd give him a chance. He's not a defender though too easily and far too often exposed.
  12. It'll be interesting to see the 11 that starts the last game of the season to the 11 that starts the first game of next season. I'd let Tavernier, Kiernan, Halliday, MacKay, Waghorn & Forester go. If we could recoup most of what we paid I'd let Garner go also.
  13. It's a truly horrible illness.
  14. I wasn't a fan of bringing him back. But in the play-off game against Motherwell he may very well have been the only player that you could visibly see wanted it. He's continued to show that desire and has given his all for Rangers in the last 2 seasons almost.
  15. Hell of a first job for him. Dens Park is a bit of a poisoned chalice. Hope that it goes well for him.
  16. For consistency then Fergie would be up there for me. But I'd rate Mourinho, Hitzfeld, Lippi and Capello all above him. Those are just off the top of my head.
  17. I'd argue Mourinho is the best manager of the last 20 years. Simply down to his ability to get results when he is written off. He might even be the best of my lifetime (38 years)
  18. Good luck to them, I regularly go up the park and have a kick about.
  19. I have a lot of respect for what Craig has done for and on behalf of Rangers. But given the level of scrutiny that is pointed in our direction and knowing the divisions in our support. He should have recused himself and avoided all of this. All this has done is show the division in our support and our apparent inability to govern a supporters group.
  20. Wengers' time is over now surely. He was great for Arsenal but should have left about 5 years ago.
  21. Some of the people that attach themselves to our club in the form of supporters seem hellbent in dragging us down to the gutter.
  22. I like Naismith and to be honest he did us favour when he left. He could have handled it better but I believe him when he says he was ill-advised. The new club stuff he alluded was all in a company context but the people that want to believe other things jumped on it as a stick to beat us with.
  23. I'd find it hard to name one particular player. We've signed a few where my genuine response to them signing was WTF? Perhaps a thread for another day.
  24. Was Boli not quite highly ranked just before he came to us? Just checked he was 15th in 1993 so not that high.
  25. He never played that well when they played us at Ibrox, but I loved seeing Hagi play against us for Galatassaray.
