We only signed Charbonnier because Dortmund wouldn't sell us Klos. Despite it being an open secret he was joining us the following summer
-
Feyenoord too who went a through a similar experience to us

Our record with youth players has been atrocious in the last 20 years off the top of my head the only players I can think of that "made it" with us were Ferguson, McGregor, Hutton and maybe Adam. In the case of Adam I think had PLG remained with us Adam would've been a huge player for us as PLG seemed to realise what he was.

Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
Crimson Dynamo replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
So in recent years I have seen Hibs, Motherwell and ICT play attractive attacking football not with massive success but imagine if they had the resources that we do. I started following Rangers in the mid 80's and during every incarnation up until the last 5 or so years whenever I went and saw Rangers or watched them on the TV there was always at least one player in the squad that was either great to watch or just gave his all week in week out for us and I couldn't wait to see them pull on the blue of Rangers. We've lost that in recent years take Steven Davis as an example when he came to us on loan he looked world class he looked streaks ahead of his teammates and his opponents by the time he signed for us permanently he never seemed the same player. Pedro Mendes was the same amazing at first but then his heart just wasn’t in it. What is it that causes this how is it we make great players good or good player’s average but for some reason we can’t do the opposite. -

Did it? With the money we spent on our team I woulda expected much much more than what was served up. Sometimes just winning isn't enough -
The only one I would say we really overpaid for during Advocaat's time was Flo. Maybe Ball but he had a growing reputation albeit an unfulfilled one. I'm sure there are others. I think Advocaats problem was the amount he bought, Though the Gayle signing was a real WTF

I read somewhere Brian McLean is available. I'd give him a go. He's a solid enough defender and a bit of a step up from what we're looking at the moment -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27793911 Rangers are to launch a new share issue in a bid to raise in the region of £8m. The Ibrox board met institutional investors in London on Tuesday, with the new issue to take place before the end of August. Rangers chairman Graham Wallace recently told fans that the Ibrox club was "in a good place" financially. The BBC understands that a minimum of £7m is needed to cover a cash shortfall at the newly-promoted Scottish Championship outfit. Major shareholders Laxey Partners and Sandy Easdale, chairman of the football board, have both indicated they will buy more shares. The Union of Fans - a collective of Rangers supporters groups - has urged people to withhold season-ticket money in protest against the board's running of the club. It led to question marks over the ability of the club to meet the sales figures required for next season. However, Wallace insisted Rangers are "in a good place" despite concerns over the club's finances. The chairman's 120-day business review set out the club's intention to raise fresh equity in the autumn, win promotion from the Championship at the first attempt next season, before adding a Scottish title and being competitive in Europe by 2017. The club's interim accounts revealed losses of £3.5m for the six months to 31 December and "going concern" status was only granted on the basis of predicted rises in season-ticket prices and sales. The board have had to seek emergency funding in recent months.

I'd get rid of Mohsni he'll give away a lot of goals next season either that or he'll be suspended for quite a bit of it

We didn't need to be throwing away the money on wages that we were and still are and it would be nice to know if Telfer wanted to stay, did Ally want him? -
Negri would have broke all sorts of records had he screwed the nut, but for whatever reason it wasn't to be the case I never thought Mols was the same player when he came back from injury. For what it's worth I think they'd have made a fantastic partnership up front

The disturbing thing about this story is that on Twitter and the likes this is somehow being made out to be Rangers fault. As far as I'm aware we had hee haw to do with the negotiations

Absolutely.....Yet our directors did nothing ultimately. I know AJ and PM said watch him but surely all they had to say was "this guy is banned from being a director"
